Law of Attraction in the wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Attraction_%28New_Age%29 I added Ernest Holmes who I believe may have originated the phrase and Norman Vincent Peale who had obviously contributed to the concept as well.

Lamb lies down on Broadway!! Fun! Which song? Speaking of the power of sound... Ueshiba and Ozzy O. have a lot in common... as time went by they could/can still rock the crowd when they are on stage. My brother tells me that Ozzy still transforms from the silly fool on tv to major stage presence and power the second the song starts. Music has always raised folk's vibration worldwide of course, but there are those who can really tap in and fly. I'd like to be like that someday.

I'm doing the silent 'ayam' sound per ayp protocol. Yogani claims that it has a high degree of efficiency in delivering the experience of meditation. He says not to synchronize it with the breath and let it be 'fuzzy' so it goes deeper than working on an energy level. What's the Aikido use look like? Om, kick your ass I will, svaha...

I have heard great things about Sarno, too.

The Oshos, Muktanandas, Trungpas, TMs, Chias, Gandhis etc have all had their share of victims. Winn's rabbit comes to mind... may he rest in peace. but their legacy is on the whole extremely positive and uplifting and of great benefit to others. Their mistakes are helpful for us too. Speaking of which... what's the dirt on Paramahansa these days? How did that whole paternity thing pan out? -Yoda

I totally agree with Plato. I think it's a nice vibe in taoism not to godify the teachers in the first place. -Yoda

Damn, Sean, that's great. I think I recall you saying you were going to start with the whole hand balancing thing. I guess you stuck to it. How long have you been training for it? thanks all for some great poses!

Hagar, Welcome to the dark side! I think that's where meditation is extremely important, which is totally passed over in the presentation of this material. The two dimensions re: ease of manifesting are strength of desire and amount of resistance aka disbelief you have about being able to manifest something. Often, very slight desires manifest easier as one doesn't even bother to resist it. Regardless if one actually 'uses' this information, it is good to be aware of as the process of manifesting reality is going on unconsciously all the time. It's also handy when it comes to raising kids... Esther's mantra, "wouldn't it be nice if..." is killer. The phrase focuses desire *and* lowers resistance. If there's one tool from Esther that's worth playing with, that's that one. The dark side of working with magic is when you attempt to use it to control others. It doesn't work and just backfires. That's why you read about all those magicians fighting off spirits all the time... that was simply their desire to control others coming to its natural manifestation. So with a crying baby, for instance, "wouldn't it be nice if he was quiet and content right now?" Usually, that's too hard to pull off in the moment, but "wouldn't it be nice if he was a quieter baby? (in general)" definitely works. If you do it in a detached way... it would be nice, but there's no compulsion sort of way there shouldn't be any glitchiness to it. It's an art. -Yoda

I'll check it out soon!

I think it's basically the heart sound. Experiment between vocal and subvocal. When you really hit the keysound right, it's a very sweet practice, but it takes regular practice. If you dig it and do it a lot, keep in mind that you need to take the energy back down through the orbit and you have to practice meditation regularly too or eventually it'll drive you nuts or simply glitch out.

I was just musing about the drop in crime in the US and I think it has to do with the phase out of lead in paint and gasoline. The rest of the world at various stages is benefitting from this phase out as well. Except for maybe China. I do think that the world has a clearer headspace b/c of it.

Cam, There's a significant amount of overlap between his website/book and the new books he's coming out with. I got his meditation book and I was only able to glean a couple more nuggets from it, so it's a good buy if you are starving for more nuggets like I was with his meditation system. If you really dig the AYP book, definitely get the Secrets of Wilder book before anything else. -Yoda

The Buddha said not to accept anything that you can't test yourself, but then there's this idea of karma that relies on either channelled sources or yogic superpowers to discern. What's a girl to do? The Buddhists use cartography as an analogy... Through direct experience you can and have validated that mass marketed maps are relatively accurate in getting from point A to point B one's whole life. Or that the evening news tends to be accurate at least in terms of geography as well. So you learn to trust these sorts of authorities. Once this trust is established, one might never have been to NYC, but one can bet their bottom dollar that it exists with more than just faith... with absolute, certain knowledge. So test your authorities that you are drawn to on matters that you can verify. I, personally, don't dig Bodri's personality so I'm not really drawn to his karma claims to really test it in the first place, so most of this sort of testing comes down to inborn preferences... wherever that comes from...

For Cam, size doesn't matter and that's ok too.

true dat.

Actually, actually, the most important manifestation is the ability to manifest higher vibrational thoughts and feelings. That's way more important than being able to manifest air, water, food, shelter, money, etc. That's really where the focus needs to be on.
-
The belief in pitfalls is the primary cause of pitfalls on the path, imo.
-
Actually, you do it all the time. Getting a glass of water, for instance. You want the glass of water, you feel good about your prospect of getting it, so it soon manifests into your experience. The more confidence you have in this process, the further out you can send your desire. The key is to become more sensitive to your feelings and meditation is the best way to do that.

I just read this in Discover Magazine: "A colossal hoax? Researchers may have found the first European pyramid. The possibly man made structure is 722 ft high--one third taller than Egypt's Great Pyramid." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnian_pyramid Hotly disputed, but some of those stones do appear to be man made to me. Interestingly, the discoverer is an Atlantis believer per the wiki article. It'll probably be a couple of years before we can get down the the bottom of this one. I'm sorry that research can't be done on the temples 2,000 below sea level off Cuba--too much silt. -Yoda

I just heard a rumor that Esther has requested to be deleted out of "the Secret". Leaking a rumor like that could just be a negotiating tactic, of course. Hopefully The Secret and Esther will remain business partners, as it's a nice flick and a good intro to her material. I just tried to click on the link Sean posted so I could send it to a friend before it collapses, and it's gone. Maybe that's just google videos, or maybe they are making some changes to the film.

Was that real or just a spoof? I can't tell anymore!

Andrew is a great guy, but he doesn't offer the kind of step-by-step/how-to stuff that I get off on.

Cain would have cleaned up preaching on taobums!
