Mrs Yoda is Norwegian decent and she's proudly pureblooded. I seem to be a plurality of Scottish with misc northern European in there somewhere. The names Freia and Kjell Bjarne are actually in use these days then?
-
I'd love the courage to act like that on film.

Hagar, Mrs Yoda actually had to hunt me down! She called around, found me at my friends' and told them to send me home. Fortunately, I came home and did the deed and now have Freya, almost 6, and Kell Bjarne, 2.5. Kell is Kjel in Norway, yes? Do these names actually exist in Norway or did Mrs Yoda just pick out random Norwegian names from the babyname books? We aren't sure. Do let us know. Having the second wasn't nervewracking. We would have more if we obtain the energy for it. I think we'd name the third (it would be a girl we think) Synnove, if I have the spelling right. "Of the Sun" right? That would fit the situation too--meaning that my practice would have hatched more lifeforce to enjoy #3. No wonder you've been doing a lot of sitting these days! That in particular is a good one for parenting (no emotional flareups, very calming). Freya's middle name is Oskarla which means "one who wishes" in Icelandic. Does it exist in Norway? -Yoda

That's a good one!!! How about CrazyTaoistFuckingSecrets.com?? .org perhaps -Yoda

Congrats on the baby! Boy or girl? Judging from Mrs Yoda, Norwegians *really* dig children. Is that true? Regardless of Norwegians, I'm sure you'll have a blast. BTW, I was terrified of having a kid!! I would run off and hide when she was fertile, had to have a few drinks before sex, etc. It felt like such a responsibility. Then I discovered that it really isn't a responsibility at all--they have the chi of a viking and the heart of a Buddha and they just wanna have fun. -Yoda

Suzuki Roshi says something along the lines that it is a very beneficial practice for one's energy level and realization to see your parents, kids, spouse, friends, associates as already absolutely perfect, impossible to improve. Having said that... Mom got into Buddhism about the time I was leaving it, so we are still a religion apart and it's better that way. In the last 10-20 years, pretty much everyone in America sees the benefits of energy visualizations, meditation, exercise, yoga, positive thinking and visualization, etc. Just like everyone knows that exercise and good diet are good for you but nobody actually does it, so we are all pretty much on the same page.

too many cooks in the kitchen!

Good to hear from you, doing any sungazing these days?

It's just a long learning curve. I'll certainly leave the right books out on the coffee table for my kids. Aside from alternating to oral sex, Plato's recent webpage brought up an interesting point about the importance of staying soft for better energy flow. That's something new for me to consider.

After taking time off from my Buddhist style practice, I wanted to get back into it and the folks at dragondoor were very into qigong. After reading Ken Cohen's Way of Qigong, I was hooked. I found HT by googling something like "sperm retention" to an inspiring RJ post so here I am. -Yoda

I tried it first thing this morning and it put me in a bad mood. That much oxygen that early was too much for me. The drill is to lie on your back breathe quickly in a pumping action emphasizing the lower abdomen: 10x right nostil 10x left, 10x both, then bellow breath to the upper chest same pattern. Repeat the whole thing 10x. Plato says this is very powerful stuff and it has banished his beer belly without banishing the beer!! My upper lungs are all set, but the drill did show me how tight my lower breathing is.
-
Maybe it was too much liver stimulation or too much oxygen too early, but the practice didn't appeal to me despite its beneficial power. Let me know how it goes if you stick it out.

Write a letter praising the positive qualities and potential to the rascal(s) in question. Just don't mail it. The energy you transmit while writing the letter will help.

http://www.geocities.com/advancedyogapractices/13.html I tried doing Iam like Sean suggested and it was very nice. There is a release or vibrational response to the mantra in the body like in the use of the keysound, so it's nice to give each repetition its space.
-
I couldn't get his breathing technique to download successfully. The one that he got rid of his beer belly on. If anyone can describe the jist of it, that'd be great. I don't have a beer gut per se. Really. It's just that I'm not 100% shredded at this very moment. .

I often have to do the 5HS as a warmup, but I'll try your technique.

Sean, Your posts are starting to sound like infomercials... Maybe you can start selling the Aneros on the home shopping network. -Yoda

but what if you just want to blow their fuckin brains out? I don't know how to do that... but leaving The BeeGees on repeat while you are gone for the weekend sometimes entices the spirit to return to the underworld. -Yoda (don't get me wrong, I like the BeeGees as much as the other guy, but it can get under anyone's skin. So to speak. Sorry if I offended anyone without skin.)

Sean, You should put this webpage on your links page.

Damn, Plato rocks my little world yet again: do it yourself trepany!! I'm not kidding. I read the article--seriously impressive as usual--and that emboldened me to wade through the scat porn on taobum to learn more... Not for everyone. But, it reminded me of the time I hired someone to Rolf me. One session he got me to relax deeply while he stuck his pinky dipped in KY Jelly up my... nose. He sent energy through his finger and I relaxed into a trance and my nose opened up! You can actually do this yourself. There might be technique written up somewhere. It goes way further than you'd suppose. I'll add Plato's bodyflow drill to my am routine and the aneros is on the to do list.

Awesome book, Turbo! This thread made me search amazon for meditation and I literally found nothing of interest!!! Zen Mind Beginners Mind by Suzuki is the only book that comes to my mind, but it's not necessarily what this thread is about perhaps.
-
Got great stuff from Master Plato. The talent on taobum.com is pretty amazing. Great minds plus high speed internet access yields great insights.

Sean, Damn that's a lot! Thanks for posting. I'm a big believer in a good morning routine, but you're the master. I'm doing 5 Tibetans, WW, testical breathing, Iam, tea. About an hour. The Iam and testical breathing/spinal breathing is very new, but is very nice and has been a missing component for me. Another missing component are those valley orgasms which are on my to-do list. Peter, Your routine rocks out too!! Biking has tremendous positive energy, freedom and speed. -Yoda

Been thinking of cold weather coming. A must read for taoists. Even though I live in easy going SC, I'll be more spartan this year as cold sets in. http://www.user.cityline.ru/~vniiam/iv01.htm#06

it's like what direction do you sleep in. You can find warnings about each direction. Mrs Yoda finally made me cave in and work with the room's feng sui thereby east it is. I was pulling for north, thinking it would give me a better sense of direction.
