Who would be willing to move to south dakota united states for a commune?

If I can be "#2" and walk around with an assault rifle, I'm in!! Nice thread topic... I've pipe dreamed about this on and off but not really kicked it around recently. My thinking on the matter is to bring in modern capitalistic concepts in all their brutal glory: There needs to be clear, contractually established lines of ownership so if people have had it at some point, everyone is very clear on who owns what and where so all you have to do is to run the paternity tests and settle up. It's interesting to charge rent... that's a cool angle... someone like webmaster Sean can do his business from anywhere on the planet, so he could do something like that. Of course, if you are charging rent then you have to allow time for people to work on their business. From what I understand, in many Catholic monasteries in the USA they run your credit and you have to prepay your health insurance and appear sincere to go on a month to month type arrangement to see if the lifestyle agrees with you. You are expected to work 4 (?) hours a day, do collective meals, and do 2 (?) hours a day of collective prayer and follow all the rules pretty closely. Also, you are required to "agree" with Catholic doctrine, but there are a minority of people there who are closet Buddhists, etc. I have a pal who has knowledge on this type of situation if anyone is interested, but that's the gist. They might do a background check too. I know that they don't want bad credit scores in their ranks. Maybe at some point, I'll buy some country land and have free retreats for a week or two at a time just to see if this sort of thing is for me. We have kicked this around a couple of times here in the past. Yoda -

A donation of "any amount"... hopefully a donor would have the decency to cover postage but even that hasn't been asked for. Yoda -

Awake, What do you do when the karma is too strong for the positive thinking approach? Your pal, Yoda ~~~ Samuraijack, I edited your post a bit. Obscenities are ok as long as they are not aggressively directed at another... thanks for your cooperation! Your pal, Yoda -

Mak Tin Si, Thanks for the offer!! Your student, Yoda -
I got a Sealing Fu for my computer monitor and haven't been zapped since by anything gnarly. Eventually, I want to get a Sealing Fu for our radio too.

I like what Pero said: many bums have found what they are looking for and are "over" TTBs in a good way. When I "graduated" from various schools, jobs, life eras, relationships, careers, identities, etc what was once magical was still "nice" and "good" and "fine" but the enchantment is definitely broken. I bet that passing from this life will be exactly the same thing... still very precious, but the overness gets to a certain threshold and that's that. But it's nice that the TTBs Alumni stop in every so often! If Sean keeps up his once a year email, that would be nice like that. Yoda

Maybe we have just dug down to the ugly truth finally? Here's a poll back from November: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showto...amp;#entry86641 I like the 'dramatic lull' thing... -Yoda

Trixter Streetcat, Salt baths rock!!! Micaharick (sp?) in Spiritual Cleansing often incorporates them into his bath recommendations to counteract normal daily negativity to even more aggressive average 'evil eye' type situations and can at least be a first aid thing for more serious negativity. He also recommends diluted beer *or* very diluted ammonia baths or using a bit of camphor for the same reason. He also advises cleaning the inside of the ears which collect negativity too. I've used noxema for that. I've heard that several times from a western context, I don't know if there are similar beliefs in the east but both Ya Mu and Vajrasattva have said good things about them. Mak Tin Si offers a bathing FU for more serious issues or deeper, long term level cleanings. One thing Micaharic and Mak Tin Si both mention is to use the bath with strong intention and not just flip through a magazine while bathing. Another thing Micaharic mentions is that if one uses strong intention then it's best to put a time limit on the effect of anything you are requesting help with especially in the arena of 'natural magic' or you'll have to deal with putting stop orders on everything in the afterlife which is a pain. I haven't the *foggiest* idea if that's right, but just putting that out there... Also, I've enjoyed epsom salt baths... those are nice too. Your pal, Yoda

Talk about 0 to 60 in 2 seconds... Susan Boyle has set some sort of fame acceleration record... so what does that do to her energy body? I don't know... but it sure helped her hair!!! Check out the photos: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/26/fashion/26looks.html

Wasn't there a story where the Buddha killed someone in a previous incarnation to prevent their doing greater evil? On a ship or something. Even with all the complexities, the whole situation is like playing Clue... Colonel Mustard, candle stick, kitchen... and then we open up the envelope at the end of our lives and see how we did!!

I've written a song about it: Quiet sun Wont you come And wash away the rain Quiet sun Wont you come Wont you come

Good question! Personally, I prefer to have an afterlife but that's just me.

Did I remember this right: in the Exorcist, the priest dies in the end? Maybe that's along those same lines. I once met a Jesuit who swore that that movie was based on a true story but I neglected to ask him if it turned out the same way

Sure, the first FU I used was a Bathing FU... that was two maybe 7x2 inch strips of paper with red calligraphy on them that I just creased lengthwise and burned into a bowl and poured into to bathwater and soaked in. The next one I burned into a bowl of water and poured over myself. The effect was subtle at the time, but very strong and beneficial in the long run. Another was the Spray FU which is three of those papers with calligraphy that one holds in a certain way and burns into a bowl of yin yang water (half boiled, half unboiled water) and then I sprayed it around the house in a certain pattern... very immediate, very powerful. Highly recommended for older homes. I had a listing that wasn't haunted or anything but the energy was off and I used a Spray FU for that and it sold within days after that... it made it the nice house that it deserved to be. Another was the Kidney FU which was a set of 7 to drink one per day... just burn into a glass of yin yang water in a certain way and drink. Day 1 was very powerful. The rest were more subtle but with long term energy boosting effects helps grow and balance kidney energy without side effects. I was having facial tics, so I took a set of Exorcism FUs which are also drinking FUs which got rid of my facial issues. Another one I'm using is a House Protection FU which I just taped to the wall right side up in the living room. I'm going to take a set of Soul Retrieval FUs soon too which I'm stoked about. Just like a Spray FU being good for an old house, I'm 40 so it'll be nice to recoup a bit of myself after 40 years of normal wear and tear plus it'll help me with a specific issue on tap that I look forward to fixing. You could say that I'm a big fan!!! I've got more fun stuff that Mak Tin Si will send me at some point that I'll report on too. I still have farther to go, but my good luck and general prosperity are definitely coming back. The cool thing is that one doesn't need to be part of the lineage or do any lineage practices, etc... these FUs can all be a la carte which is nice to have that sort of flexibility. Yoda

I've tried it... it tastes like I'm drinking swimming pool water!!! As such, I'd only use it if my life depended on it and I was convinced that it worked. I'd be tempted to do stuff that boosts the immune system rather than attack the problem in general. I haven't much knowledge about this sort of thing, though.

I'll restate it here, but before our Spray FU, my daughter reported seeing and being intimidated by numerous ghosts. After the Spray FU she said that all but one was gone and she was a nice one. Since even nice ghosts are draining, we put up a house protection FU and did a house exorcism FU. She hasn't seen anything since. If there turns out to be anything else, Mak Tin Si and I will keep at it until we are at 110%. I'm of the opinion that our particular story is unusual as I had a practice that had short circuited and was actively bringing them in, and that a normal ghost removal situation would be easier and likely a Spray FU could do the job 100%. I can't "see ghosts" but the place feels much cleaner now. My problem was that I hadn't really admited to myself that I was having vibrational troubles other than my luck seemed to be unusually low for the last year or so. -Yoda

Awake, Our fearless webmaster, Sean, taught me this valuable lesson: stop cultivation practice if it kills your clarity... lose that and you won't be able to remember that you once had it! Also, there's a good self pacing section in advancedyogapractices.com that's worth checking out. Good luck!! Your pal, Yoda
