It took me a couple of weeks to get used to the first taobum board, I'm sure it'll feel natural soon. Maybe in a couple of weeks, we can start posting "technical tips" in the support board to help us use the new features. I look forward to the live chat! I'm sure there will be plenty of cyber-transvestites to go around for all of us. We'll all miss you, Peitro. Be sure to email sometimes! I'll let you know if my big toe ever gets lucky. -Yoda

Spyrelx, Any benefits on the caffeine experiment or are you just glad it's over? You might be right, I'm just checking into this pattern. I'm thinking that the American pioneer kept their energy in a steady state through the day. I'm thinking that caffeine at night was the only form of entertainment they had back then--more of a socializing drug, and that's sort of what I have in mind for it as well. -Yoda

is reverse breathing the same as vaccuum breathing?

Sean, The intro section should be ammended along the lines of irongarmx.org---do the usual CYA to your satisfaction but then tell them that this site is for the over 18 crowd who isn't easily offended. Pleasing people and good manners isn't the central focus here. Maybe you could suggest the HT forum as an alternative for a more controlled experience. -Yoda

It was a taobums disclaimer section (don't post copyrighted material, etc) I saw when I was setting up a login name. No biggie, but it'd be nice to set the mature audiences only tone.

Those Abbots... you just can't get a rise out of them! I have bumped into Crowley references in my recent research but I've assumed that he ate children first thing in the morning and all that so I haven't looked into it. I'm willing to believe that he's chaotic neutral who gets referenced by teens trying to shock their folks. In a loving universe, it's hard to act evil in a sustainable way--either in one's personal life or on the global scene. (uh oh--jmho!) From what I saw, his sunworship looks fairly generic sort of like the Mithras Liturgy on my blog--fairly straightforward. What does he say about the moon? There are references to moongoddesses (women or girls) from different cultures standing or sitting on a crescent moon. There's supposed to be one in Chinese mythology--anyone know about her? -Yoda

I've not heard about them in the last 10 years. Have they gotten better? Disbanded? Sex scandals? I would see them on the news every so often, hopping in the full lotus five feet or so. It was fun to watch. -Yoda PS, just did a google search on them and it seems like yogic flying events are still going on. Popping a few feet forward in a full lotus is no easy feat. I bet it's legit, but it doesn't look like they'll get beyond "hopping" any time soon.

Callan-- A Scott! Killer! Yoda is primarily Scottish blood! I married a Norwegian, though... I agree with your post too. I'd just add that if it's too freaky, just take it as a sign of the power of your practice, but do back off or change if you need to. Some people get off on high voltage, others need more pacifying stuff and everyone needs balance. -Yoda

I use my dreams for primary feedback--if they get weird or consistently unpleasant then I need to back off or change something. If they are ho-hum I should add more fuel to the fire. They are good feedback, as I'm not always honest or sensitive with my in-the-moment feeling vibe, so they are sort of the next level in the vibe feedback system, and then the next level is the events in my life being to my satisfaction or not if I really refuse to see something. That's the system that I use. So my guess would be to back off a bit until your dreamlife improves. Keep us posted! -Yoda

Mbanu-- What's going on with older people who train themselves to sleep longer and younger people who train themselves to sleep less? What do you think of sleep efficiency training like what "..." is doing or what they teach at powerfulsleep.com, etc. -Yoda

Have you read this? http://www.newstarget.com/003069.html Be sure to take your vitamin D--Dr Holick recommends 1000 IU per day in northern latitudes. If you are the adventurous sort, you might consider DHEA as well during the winter. If I were in your shoes, I'd do lots of safe cloud gazing. Even through thick clouds you get about 25% of the charge of sungazing in my estimation. -Yoda
-
Actually, I've had luck with just looking at the clouds in the approx. direction of the sun. You do get something that way. And to start off, that could be a big plus. To be extra safe, you might do that during the first or last hour of the day. You need to do your own research about safety b/c it's so important, but at your latitude the sunshine would be pretty durn weak in the winter. Some discussion is at rawpaleodiet.org/sungazing and you can order a $5 UV detection card so you can get a feel for safe UV levels. Do things clear up in the summer? -Yoda

not a pro on this, but my guess is inhale goes up the back and exhale is down the front. That's normally how it's taught.

I've had great results with all the Bodri tips I've followed up on. I'm sure the pure body institute of ventura, ca would ship to Germany--for appropriate postage, of course. I'd imagine that it works well. -Yoda

Just found this tip. It looks like a great way to work on the mobility required for bodyweight pistols: Start holding the bottom position for time. Use your hands at first by holding on to an upright support. Door knobs work well. Just try and balance as long as you can and minimize how much you use your hands. Slowly wean yourself away from using your hands until you can hold the bottom position for 60 sec. It helps to pre-stretch the hamstrings first. Do supported pistols for reps as well. Do fairly high rep sets to get the groove. In the begginning, use two hands. Then go to one, then two fingers then the index finger. By that time you should be able to do several reps unsupported. I have taught many people to do pistols this way. Steve Maxwell

I'm lurking a bit on the dragondoor forum. It's interesting to see that getting burned out on 2 pood training seems pretty common. KBs are truly a high rep training tool at heart. Here's a cool workout I found by a well known BJJ trainer: I wanted to get in a conditioning, flexibility workout before the Eagles played on Monday Night Football. I have been combining elements of Naked Warrior/Combat Conditioning with Power yoga. I like to make up my own vinyasas. I also like to flow from one move to the other. Here is last nights routine. I also enjoy keeping time rather than always counting reps. There is no pressure to hit a certain number- whatever I can do, I do. 1. 5 minutes sun salutaion A from power yoga 2. 10 minutes of breathing Hindu squats 3. 5 minutes hindu push-ups on a Irani push-up board 4. 10 minutes sunsalutation B from power yoga 5. Roman chair sit-ups on a foot stool (feet anchored under the couch) 6. Glute ham raises with daughter sitting on feet 7. 3 minutes of reverse push-ups (aka body weight rows) 8. 3x5 hanging leg raise 9. 5 wall walks 10. breathing wrestlers bridge 30 breaths 11. straddle stretch for three minutes 12. plow stretch for three minutes I then sat and sweated for 10 minutes. I had donned a heavy sweat shirt and pants because I like to sweat. When I started to cool down, I went outside and doused myself with a 5 gallon bucket and toweled dry with a coarse towel massage. I was now ready to watch the game. Steve Maxwell -Yoda

Well, I wouldn't loose sleep over it--it's not really a big deal. Having a foreskin does make using a condom more tricky, from what I'm told. I told the nurse that Kell could always cut it off later when he's grown up, that would give him the option. Somehow, I doubt he will. -Yoda

I haven't bought the ebook at www.powerfulsleep.com but I was told that it recommends exercise and sunshine to bring the serotonin/melatonin production into balance for people with sleep disorders. The author says that we only need 6-7 hours of sleep per night. If you are getting that much and still feeling sleepy in the daytime, you need to take more walks. Also, he cites that long term, megastudy on longevity and hours of sleep you get every night and people who get 8+ hours are more likely to die than people who get 6-7 hours a night. Apparently, that's the gist of it. -Yoda

I stood by my son's side from the moment of birth to the moment we left the hospital to insure that nobody would cut his dick off. I didn't want anyone pressuring Mrs. Yoda into something stupid like that. There's el nada benefit to cutting it off, and it traumatizes the young boy--they cry till they pass out. I say let them rest and give them a proper pagan cock. -Yoda

Also, in WSM there's no packing, directing, or concentrating of energy. In visualizing the bones radiating white light, you are allowing a natural redistribution of energy to occur in a very personalized, grounded way. It's a great practice, but Bodri says that it's not for everyone as it can encourage excessive lustiness and jing loss in men. I'd recommend test driving it. -Yoda -

That's me at Degoba's only strip club before they closed it down. That was right around the time Darth started to go bad. -Y -

I'm the airborne squat dude! But that's not Mrs Yoda nor my UV watch. It is my sungazing space. I was thinking of doing a rock circle there but I don't have any big rocks at the moment. I'm sure they'll show up, though. I hesitated to send in the photo as I wasn't sexy enough, but then I realized that I don't own any lycra or leopard prints etc so I'll just have to deal with it! -Yodster -
Grounding is the big challenge for sungazing but if you do it barefoot it helps. Something needs to be done to ground it right after the practice. The common thing is to walk around 15+ minutes outside barefoot. I'm still figuring this part out. Walking around barefoot is good stuff. I just googled for RJ Stewart miracle tree and found a few chapters about walking there as a grounding practice. WSM is a groovy stillnessish practice. A copy of that is floating around the lending library too. But, yes... straight at Sunny! Some people do gaze at thirty degrees of the sun, etc. But the best way is straight at it with full focus. The way to experiment with the practice is just to make a habit of admiring the sunset or sunrise on a regular basis. Plus the radiance after the sunset too if you'd like. Experiment with it on that easy, safe level and see if you like it. And let me know! -Yoda

HappyMaraXXus-- There's a free copy of primordial chi kung floating around somewhere--it's a great practice. Rex-- The coincidences of this website often remind me of Napoleon Hill's idea of the mastermind group that collective focus to a topic yields better results. -Yoda
