  1. My Dad just got back from a China trip and he reports that there's lots of chikung tools and trinkets for sale and he got me some cool stuff that his Chinese friends told him to get. He realized that he wasn't going to actually try them so he shipped them my way. My favorite is a foot roller with small spikes on the rollers--definitely good stuff. He got a jade roller intended for neck massage and a jade pillow. I've seen jade pillows in museums before made out of solid rock but this is a mosaic of small jade tiles woven together so it's more comfortable and much cheaper than the emperor's pillow. I haven't tried it yet. One could fill up a pillow case at the rock shop and do the same thing if it works. And finally there are wooden sandals that have rounded pegs throughout the soles that you stand on. It's too small for me but does seem to be invigorating. Jade and feet seem to be the two big themes of what Dad saw. I know all about feet, but don't know anything about jade. Anyone? -Yodster
  2. chikung trinkets in China

Well, it's just a bunch of small jade tiles woven together (maybe about a pound all in all)-- a quick trip to a rock shop could land you some jade pebbles to throw into your pillowcase and you'll have the same setup. In the case of this pillow, the shades of jade are made to look like a butterfly. The backing material is synthetic, so the whole thing couldn't have been overly expensive.(?) Buddha or not, I automatically think of a huge statue looking for me as scary. My thinking was that Merlin had to change gears into something a bit tamer for me to accept him. As it happened, after that dream I got very into Tibetan Buddhism for a number of years and then got out into something more feel good, new agey after getting bummed out about all those lower realms. So maybe I'm following the basic format of that dream. Maybe b/c of the power of that dream and also that I'm aware that rocks can be very powerful, I've been a bit hesitant to add jade's energy into my experience but I'll definitely try it. -Yoda 8)
  3. chikung trinkets in China

Thanks, that was very helpful. Years ago, I had a dream of a Jade statue of the Buddha chasing me through a jungle, and then Merlin popped out of the statue and sat on a log radiating beautiful stillness and I felt very soothed and drawn to him. That dream has been coming to mind since receiving the jade pillow but I haven't tried it yet. I'll check it out. -Yodster

  5. You've got to try this guys:

I'm a walk in, Kyle's just my host! 8) Good initial results and then I slacked off. During the 60+ days of daily solo practice, the practice consistently delivered good vibes and very much improved my dual performance where I had a few modest heartgasms. I even induced a modest heartgasm in Mrs. Yoda too and she's not even doing the practice. It definitely heightens one's emotional sensitivity and involvement in dual. I never fully unveiled the practice to Mrs. Yoda, but I'd do the keysound silently. I fully expect that the practice can deliver serious "rock your world" results in due time. The aneros is recommended on the site to assist in learning non-emission type orgasms. Since stopping consistent, solo keysound practice, I lost the knack to pull it off in dual as well. It's pretty awesome, and I intend to get back into the practice as soon as my other practices simmer down. I still have not encountered any lessening of sexual desire through sungazing, and I'm sort of waiting to see if SGing will change the landscape in this department at all but that'll be about 3 months on the solarhealing.com program. -Yodster
  6. I'm starting to notice that WSM is easier to do with the eyes closed while sitting in the sunlight--the sun's energy seems to goose up the energy of the practice. I also like to do WSM in pitch black--then I can see my brilliance superimposed on a dark background. -Yoda 8)
  7. sungazing notes

Vinny the owner of rawpaleodiet.org wrote the following re: sungazing. I feel that Vinny is a good antidote to HRM's hyper-optimistic solarhealing.com and Vinny refers to HRM's technique and the allure of far-out benefits Hira promises. Hira and Vinny seem to be on good terms with each other and it's great to get differing perspectives. My experience so far agrees with Vinny's perspective... As has been covered MANY times before in MANY past posts in the archives of this list group, it is simply advisable to ALWAYS stand barefoot on earth (or sand, or leaves or grass or moss, or even earth-contact pavement or concrete if necessary) when sungazing and then standing or walking barefoot on same for a few minutes afterward. In fact, many of us longer-term sungazers, myself included, will simply NOT sungaze for longer than one minute (even if we normally gaze for sessions of far greater lengths) unless and if we are standing barefoot on earth as described above. Why? We have simply found repeatedly from experience, and our intuitive guidance has only reinforced this feedback, that such barefoot standing/walking on true earth is extremely important, not only in itself, but also when sungazing, and that all sorts of dire and undesirable consequequences can possibly occur (and often do occur) if a person attempt to sungaze for more than a very short time without barefoot contact with earth. All of the worst "sungazing harmed me" stories I have heard from sungazers or ex-sungazers have been from people who took up sungazing not due to inner guidance from Heart/Spirit/Intuition, but rather simply because the overactive and ever restless "local mind" wanted "results" (often baed on the wild promises of any of several sungazing gurus or promoters) and forced their body to sungaze, and FURTHER (caps for emphasis) did NOT sungaze while standing barefoot on bare earth or sand or something similar (there is one other factor almost always associated with the damage/harm stories as well, and this -- along with the points above --has been covered in my past posts and will be covered again in my not-yet-released Observations on Sungazing mini e-book.) As for standing barefoot on cold ground, well, no one is forcing you to do that, just as no one is forcing you to sunagaze at all! However, the fact of the matter is that many fears of standing briefly on cold or frozen bare earth or sand (or grass or leaves, etc.) are grossly overblown, and it is often easier than one thinks. As a case in point, consider this: In past years, up till this year, I have always stood barefoot on bare earth while sungazing down to ground temperatures of about 14 F (-10 C), and have been able to tolerate sungazing for at least 5-10 minutes under such cicrumstances. However, for reasons beyond my ken, I find that my tolerance for cold ground has increased drastically this year, and in the past two months, during two several-day cold snaps down to below -1 F (-19 C), I have found that I could easily stand barefoot on bare earth for many minutes, and even briefly walk barefoot (near my sungazing spot and as well as the 25 yards back to my front door) while barefoot. Am I alone in such reports? No! We have several list members, including more than one in frigid Canada (they do not call Canadians "frostbacks" and "frozen frogs" for nothing!) who often walk barefoot when ground temps are even colder than I have mentioned above. And, is this cold ground tolerance something that is true only for long-term sungazers? No, not at all! Here is a great recent case in point, from Christmas morning: I had a young student/intern/buddy staying with me for much of Christmas week. Although her internship here with me was in areas and realms other than sungazing, Aryanna asked me on Christmas Eve (as we stuffed our faces with incredible poppyseed struedel) if I would teach her to sungaze. This request was a bit unexpected to me, as I am not at all a sungazing proselytizer nor a missionary for sungazing, and I never try to convert anyone to sungazing, but Aryanna reassured me that she was guided to sungaze due to inner guidance from Spirit/Heart/intutition. Well, on Christmas morning, which was about 18 degrees F (-8 Celsius) here, Aryanna was still interested in a sungazing lesson with me, and reassured me that she was truly guided by inner Spirit and Heart to sungaze, and thus, I readily agreed to sungaze with her; it was now 9:30 AM, and I had already done a long solo SG session a bit earlier. So, among other things, as we sat in my warm living room, I explained to Aryanna that it is always best and rather important to sungaze only while standing barefoot on bare ground, and reminded her that it was quite cold outside, well below 20 F . She quickly replied that she was more than willing to stand barefoot on frozen ground, and I then suggested that she wear her hiking shoes (minus socks) out to the sungazing spot in my backyard, and that she could shed the shoes when we reached the sungazing spot. (As an aside, I do not wear shoes on my trek out to my backyard, as I walk my dog whle barefoot four times per day, every day, in weather much colder than the 18 F of that Christmas morning.) And so, after sharing a few other pointers, we walked outside together to sungaze. When we reached our sungazing spot in my forested backyard, Aryanna slipped her shoes off, walked about a bit barefoot on the frozen ground, and then found a comfortable place to stand barefoot. We then sungazed together for about 50 seconds (this was her first SG session, and I allowed Spirit to tell us how long her first session should be) on that Christmas morning, and then we each walked about for 2 or 3 minutes barefoot, after which she slipped her hiking shoes back on for the walk to the house. Although Aryanna has never sungazed nor walked barefoot in winter before, and is only 22 years old, at no point did she experience any significant discomfort from standing barefoot on frozen 18 F (-8 C) ground, and in fact, she was only glowing with happiness and joy after the brief sungazing session. However, just so sungazing does not get too much credit for her happiness, let me point out that Aryanna has a naturally sunny, joyous and grateful personality anyway, and thus, sungazing aside, she often walked around the house during her entire stay here glowing with joy and appreciation, singing or humming happily to herself and to my dog and cat, who pretty much followed her everywhere she went. But, despite my stories above, no one is trying to force you to stand outside on frozen ground -- it is simply your choice. However, if you cannot stand on bare earth or sand or grass or gravel, then I do recommend -as always -- that you may wish to keep your sungazing sesions below about one minute in length. with care, --Vinny

  9. What a can of worms!!! Obviously, Buddhists ain't into killing people or anyone who has a chance of obtaining liberation within the current body. Even killing animals is negative. You gotta read what Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita if you haven't already. Arjuna had to kill his own relatives in an ancient civil war and Krishna said to do it, that in the deeper reality it's impossible to actually kill anyone as we are all eternal also you don't have the power to kill either--all death is due to one's own karma. Essentially, all death is suicide and illusory. That's my own take as well. Interestingly, at the end of the Mahabarata of which the BG is a chapter, the bad guys went to heaven and the good guys went to hell for being too righteous and outraged at the bad guys' good fortune, but it seemed more of a practical joke from Krishna and eventually everyone got to party on in heaven. You and Max will have a hard time finding traction to even discuss this subject b/c any view discussed is overloaded with assumptions. But it's important to consider as the stakes are huge. I think that Buddhism has the best embodied teachers on the planet but that their philosophy is too negative in my opinion. More beings go to hell/lower realms in Buddhism than all other religions combined! Let's hope they're wrong or we're toast! -Yoda

  11. Sungazing question

A friend of mine is raving about sungazing within an hour of sunrise or sunset as explained here: http://www.solarhealing.com/sgprocess.htm He has just started a week ago, so he doesn't have too much to go on, but he seems pretty stoked. I've seen practices like this alluded to before but I've never checked them out. Thanks for any thoughts! -Yoda
  12. sungazing notes

Totally agree that there is not much science out there either for or against sungazing. My Mom waited a good 20 years before buying a microwave oven and that was the right thing for her. IMO, sungazing with a UV index under 2 is not only safe but it is desirable to have at least some indirect UV exposure to the retinas on a daily basis. Do your own research, every man for himself, of course. 8) -Yoda
  13. Actually, it's good to start slow with sungazing and gazing while the sun is low or behind clouds is a good way to ease into it. Takes months to acclimate, so you'd be ready for the summer by starting now. Check out www.solarhealing.com for one system. I sungaze then WSM outside if possible in the sunlight. Very nice mix. Solarhealing is into the big toes as well. Sungazing and WSM are my primary practices, supplemented by multiples.com, and Taoist power yoga. I'm set: Yoda's Big 4. -Yoda
  14. sungazing notes

Great work! I love seeing big returns in people's practice. I have the sense that sungazing juices up whatever you are into. I can find lost items, do my WSM better, dream practice is showing up on the screen, etc. So I'm not surprised that it can juice up the more advanced practices that I am not familiar with. My last session the sun was a bit too bright for me, so I just faced the general direction and sang the Gayatri for a few minutes and then I could look at it directly with no discomfort. It felt like I had to get up to vibrational speed to do so. Obviously, if it's uncomfortable don't force yourself. I'm doing about 10 minutes at a stretch on days that the sun is available, otherwise I'll cloudgaze in the direction of the sun for 30 minutes. It is recommended to meditate, stand, walk around outside for at least 10 minutes after sungazing to come down and assimilate. I like the ancient precedence to this practice--it's very natural and "pagan" One of the byproducts that I've heard of from this practice is a strongly developed hardiness. Being able to stand outside barefoot in the snow is often cited by longtime sungazers as a byproduct. I want to develop that warrior hardiness. There's a great scene in the Walking with Dinosaurs/Walking with Cavemen BBC series where the neanderthal dude falls off a cliff, regains consciousness, straightens out his bent fingers and gets back on the hunt. (Apparently, neanderthals are often found with more healed broken bones than a profession rodeo rider.) -Yoda 8)
  15. Welcome to the club! WSM rocks! Be sure to check out sungazing too! Sungazing/sunbathing is outside-in and WSM is inside-out for all your illumination needs. Bodri is insistant on using white light, but golden light is easier and more natural for me. I don't know why he's so insistant as golden feels good too. Although, I can see what he's talking about with greens, blues, reds, etc. You are right--the light and the inner smile seem to be the same energy. My Sungazing pal just pointed out that visualizing being filled with light helps with retention practice too--it programs your subconscious/self-image to see oneself as filled with light and eventually it just starts to feel unnatural to do anything that compromises that energy level. Interesting insight. Keep me posted! -Yoda 8)

  17. I agree... skip the scissors, but brushing the bones is awesome.
  18. Matt, You are definitely ahead of Yoda in Keysound territory. When you had the heartgasm, were you doing the keysound silently? Also, did you direct the sunchi to the sex center or did it just go there on its own? I've had great success applying sunchi toward WSM meditation and towards life in general, but I'm doing too much too fast and need to pace my sun practice to get used to the voltage. I've put keysound aside for the moment but I'm glad that sunchi will help with that one too when I get back to it. Obviously, heartgasms are a seriously good thing! Also, I'm having a hard time discerning the similarities and differences between sunchi and meditation chi and sexual (hot and cold) chi, etc. On the shen-chi-jing scale where is the sun? Thanks for any thoughts on that. -Yoda 8)

  20. My skeleton is a badass mofo... he rips his flesh off him and casts it aside sloppily. I don't know how he does it, but he grabs his brain and flings it into the bloody slop. The flesh can't handle the radiation anyway. Don't need it either. The warrior way is not about boohooing or defending your salami. When the gig is up you don't need your body anyways--it just slows you down. It's like in the movies when the good guy runs out of ammo in one gun, he can always get his hands on another weapon and party on. If he was overly attached to his gun his kleshas would get the better of him and he wouldn't notice the nice rock at his feet. I am proud that I am able to cast my body and entire life away in 5 seconds notice per dream experience. If it happens faster than that, I'll figure it out afterwards like everyone else. 8) -Yoda
  21. Ron...

You've been posting some awesome practices recently--most of them are out of my league at this moment, but your right ball/left ball breathing looks easy enough. If you could unpack the energy flow a bit more, that'd be great. Is it just a general upwards blast of light or a standard microcosmic circuit? Does left ball stay in a left channel or does it follow the central axis? Also, what do you think of Chia and Winn's LKL material. I'm going to check them out over xmas. thanks, Yoda
