As Gossamer lost his nerve, I suggested to Sean that maybe we could get Mak Tin Si to do a FU for the taobum website itself or for the whole community. Sean said that he is open to any and all ideas but that it is essentially up to each individual donor and he'll honor their respective requests.

Mrs Yoda has had bad heartburn for several months and is taking prilosec otc which works fine, but I'm wondering if there's anything else less hardcore that she should try for a long term solution.
-
I'm still going to follow the Between Heaven and Earth suggestions, definitely. I have a TCM doctor pal who may come to visit, so we'll go with his suggestions too. Mak Tin Si suggested avoiding beef and seafood for her.

So I emailed Mak Tin Si about Randi's heartburn a couple of months ago and it sounded like the timing wasn't right. Then a few days ago, I got an email from him saying that Randi's heartburn would likely be cured presently and in the last few days it has gone from a situation threatening to need 2 prilosecs a day to gone!!!! Randi thinks the whole thing is just a coincidence, but she doesn't have any explanations... she isn't doing anything differently recently. Crazy stuff, huh??? Hopefully the cure will stick around and I'll keep everyone posted about it!! In case it's permanent, I'd like to thank everyone for their excellent advice all of which I've passed on to Randi. Between Heaven and Earth just came in and it looks awesome and I'll definitely use that book on her for further balancing. Yoda

TO ALL - attention! something to discuss!
Yoda replied to Mak_Tin_Si's topic in Forum and Tech Support
I am personally very grateful to both Sean as well as Mak Tin Si (see my heartburn thread). Neither can do wrong in my eyes. I hope they work something out!! -
It seems like Gossamer decided against participating in this project. Perhaps he didn't want to test Mak Tin Si's FU power after all?

Does Kunlun help solving or bearing/ignoring mundane problems?
Yoda replied to Owledge's topic in General Discussion
I'd freak out and be a basket case. But I'd take breaks to get into a groovy feeling state at least three times a day. Probably the only way to do that is through stillness meditation as it's easier to quiet the mind than to change it. If you are into Kunlun, maybe do Kunlun for awhile and then sit or lie down afterwards and relax deeply or just take a short nap. I'd also buy a lawsuit FU. Good luck with it!! This can end well!! Your pal, Yoda ps One teacher heard this one guy complain that his wife was suing him for half his income. He said good, that is great news... that her desire for money would suck more money through him and that she only gets half... it's a very favorable situation for far greater wealth if he can stay peaceful. -
anyone have any updates here?

Anything that feels good and lovey and forgivey will help! (Personally, I'd score a FU from Taoismcanada.com too... you never know!!!) -
yeah... that book is really awesome and simple... If you are on a budget, Vajrasattva and Ya Mu suggested a salt bath along the same lines. Per Ya Mu: If one has a shower only, maybe stand in a tub of salt water and sponge down in the shower like that.

thanks all! I'll check out Between Heaven and Earth.

That's so not going to happen... Go fish.

NW, Thanks, AugustLeo put it together!! Rocks out!! Goldisheavy, if I ever become a highly spiritual person, I'll let you know how it goes. With a bit of luck all else will be added unto me in sufficient quantities. Your pal, Yoda

Daochild, I agree with Vortex... you can make a lot of money with that degree. Also, another six years hence and our society will be even more open than it is now. We want results, not degrees. Go for it!! I've heard it said that TCM people learn to be chiropractors (sp?) as that's something all soccer moms can relate to and some insurance companies too which gets people in the door. goldisheavy, Imo, most people in the USA aren't very spiritual and income doesn't have anything to do with it... so I think we are saying the same thing, yes? Your pal, Yoda

Let's be frank... No, No, Neti-Neti Aint!

thanks for a great thread! keep the Bardon quotes coming... by enjoying school we get the most out of it! That pesky quote has always haunted me in my pursuit of money and security. There are lots of materially wealthy folks are very compassionate and wise. Marpa, Vimalakirti, Arjuna, and the Dalai Lama come to mind. I'm sure there have been many enlightened kings and queens too. Had people like that given away their wealth they would not have been able to fulfill their dharma. Marpa's teacher, Naropa, used Marpa's tendency towards greed as part of his training and made him give away a tremendous amount of gold. Marpa thought that Naropa was just a poor beggar and probably needed the cash. Naropa just laughed at Marpa and turned the whole landscape to gold and said what need do I have for such things? It's just an element of our world like gravity and stop signs, etc that can be used to one's advantage or not. Yoda

I heard it said that the Phoenix is the upper cauldron, Pearl the middle, and the Dragon the lower. Just wondering if I could stir up more information on the relation between these three. Wasn't able to find much aside from one story of the Phoenix and Dragon fighting the Western Queen of Heaven for the Pearl. http://www.piffe.com/stories/dragon-phoenix.php I found references that said that w/o the pearl the Dragon cannot ascend to Heaven. I'm just wondering what is the basic understanding of Dragons, Dragon dances where they chase the Pearl, and of Phoenixes. Thanks for any help! Yoda ps, while searching around I read a claim that made me smile: "Nobody has ever seen a dragon actually catch the pearl." Reminds me of Quidditch.

psychiatrists and therapists piss me off so much
Yoda replied to innerspace_cadet's topic in General Discussion
Innerspace, Finding the cure is a hard one!!! After 22 years of meditation I still aint right. The good news, it that it is getting easier to transmute things now than it was 5-10 years ago. There are lots of great practices and even a healing circle on this forum that might be helpful for you. I like the nicnac approach... try this and that and just add an element at a time that works. Keeping live plants and flowers inside and getting outside whenever possible are nice. Also holding a black rock to decharge before going to bed is nice too. Your pal, Yoda -
I watched part of the vid. Fun about Sirius aligned with the DC mall. The ominous tunes when they talk about us new agers is a plus.

apparently, it's better than basic cable.
