  1. Paul and Ginger in the West and John and Scary in the East??? Dang, I'm turned around!! Watching the belly dancers made everything seem so simple again. Weird.
  2. Neutralwire, George and Ringo didn't have the motion that Paul and John had, so they make good axis dudes. George had more of a spiritual northstar presence in the band and dare I claim more of a downward flow than Ringo. I'd say G was least changed by his experience. Hence North. As a drummer, Ringo would have more of a solar vibe going on for a more south thing. And what of deity correspondences? John Osiris, Yoko Isis, Paul Horus, George Anubis, but Ringo??? Or do we just keep Yoko, Linda, keyboardist, maharishi, etc out of it? Hopefully I can go to the well one more time with Apepch7... I feel bad for how much we work him. Hate to burst your bubble, but things aren't soooo simple are they?? Your pal, Yoda
  3. Apepch7, Neutralwire, and Thelerner, and everyone, I need help with The Beatles correspondences. George North Paul East Ringo South John West I'm not 100% on interpreting that Bardon diagram... did I get that right? Thanks!! Yoda
  4. I'm not a scholar, but it sounds like the Christian church was fighting a two front war against the pagans and the heretics who both had lots of charismatics going on so they needed to downplay the weirdness factor and play up the follow-the-rules thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Saints sort of alludes to this tension.
  5. Gout help please!

BG, I've heard that gout was associated with European royalty and upper class due to their rich diet. Luigi Cornaro suffered serious gout and healed himself through calorie restriction and lived to approx 100 with lots of vigor. http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglib...105cornaro.html I bet that would work, but I'm sure there are easier solutions out there. Your pal, Yoda
  6. I wish I could say that I moved like Lin, but I'm more like a cat coughing up a hairball. As Obiwan would say, "this isn't the transmission you're looking for."
  7. kickin' thread!! I'm another for Autobiography of a Yogi, but it was the cover of the book that made the impression (never been one to read the fine print!). I would hang out at my Mom's bookstore and he kept staring at me and he was wearing an Australian bush hat with a side pinned up... made me wonder what was up. At the end of high school, I read Shambhala by Trungpa Rinpoche and was impressed by it to take up meditation. In recent years, it's really been tbums that's been my favorite and most valuable reading.
  8. New Archdruid Post!

thanks for keeping us posted. I signed up for his blog but am not getting the emails so far. I'll have to figure it out at some point.
  9. For any JC fans who are into channeling, the book "Anna grandmother of Jesus" is a total blast and an absolute must-read!! Per that book, JC studies in Egypt, England, and the Himalayas and Anna and Mary are full Phoenix Body masters who ascended directly to heaven like Elija. They said that the "men's Peter-based Christianity" (so to speak) has had its day and now the women's version of Christianity is on the rise. The book agrees with the written accounts of friction between Mary M and Peter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Magdalene#Gospel_of_Mary
  10. Sun Worship

Spirit Ape, When I was sungazing 30+ minutes a day, I had lots of dreams about fighting unidentified Egyptian gods. For some reason, it was important that I prevailed and I spent lots of time researching esoteric weapon systems in dreamville and some Egyptian priests were willing to help me out. My personal life suffered so I quit... they beat the tar out of me!!!! One philosopher suggested that making the sun taboo is a way to control the masses and prevent them from becoming gods themselves. If you research sungazing, you'll run across his name. He's a well known eccentric with an uncanny knack for finding pyramids in South American jungles... Per him, the South American priests had to let the warrior class in on sungazing to empower them to protect the empire and somewhere in there it all went downhill with human sacrifice and all that... the fire path has its perils!!! I couldn't get the whole thing to work for me. Definitely mix fire with lots and lots and lots of cool wet dark water!!! Winn suggests that our society is already too firey and yangy so sungazing can aggravate an already touchy situation. It's got potential and I'd love for someone to keep the research alive... keep us posted on how you make out!! Some have suggested that stargazing carries the same vibe but gentled down 1000s of times to make it more practical and easier to work with. From my sungazing days, I learned that the sun is a living, conscious entity with tremendous benevolence and generosity but you have to be a real Ramana Maharishi to be able to relate. I've heard that he was famous for sungazing after his enlightenment. He could sungaze in the middle of the day in India for hours at a time!! Of course, the rest of us would get permanent vision damage by doing that... so if anyone checks out this path please keep to the sunrises and sunsets!! Your pal, Yoda
  11. My daughter is 8 and I'm developing a curiousity into western mystery schools, so I figured I'd read up. I've found Christopher Penczak is a good chap for beginners. His books seem good so far, especially for kids. I'll take a look at his shamanism and witchcraft book tonight. The "four" elements is a twist... not used to that. I'm looking for readable, entertaining and maybe "intermediate" level at this point. Egyptian stuff a plus. Thanks for any suggestions! Your pal, Yoda
  12. Do You Train Martial Arts?

ah... I haven't seen reference to Shotokan in quite some time!! That was my first style!! Now I'm a black belt in wei wu wei.
  13. Growing with the Tao

Randi is a real gardener!! Daochild, if you are in Columbia, SC you'll have to swing by once she is under way. Every year she does more and is better at it. Last year she grew 300lbs and this year I think she is shooting for 600!!! She's found a lot of plants that rock out: Matts Wild tomatoes blew us last year and pumkin squashes that are the ninjas of the gardening world: they grow like jack in the beanstalk and will climb trees so you can even plant them in a forest! (good luck harvesting them!! ) I'll try to report on her secret weapons. She and her friends need to start a gardening forum... one of them has a masters in horticulture... very serious crew. And 4 chickens, of course. I'll post her specific seed list at some point: onions, garlic, jerusalem artichokes, matts wild tomatoes, pumpkin squash, sage, lots of basil, rosemary, sweet potatoes, carrots, okra, lots of cucumbers come to mind at the moment. We'll pray for lots of rain as the plants grow much better on rain water than with tap water. Can anyone recommend an organic gardening forum? Apparently, seed catologues are going crazy these days. Business is up 2-10x these days. Chicken feed too. It's in the air. Going to plant some peach and plum trees etc this year. Peach is supposed to be good fengsui too.
  14. howdy folks

welcome to taobums, I hope you enjoy!!
  15. Yogani says that some advanced teachers say to just open your eyes and look around, no need for climbing!! But what about those of us at base camp? AugustLeo's journal and autobiography is very helpful on this issue.
  16. Awesome report Cam!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
  17. Hi from NZ

I once had a dream that I was being chased by a giant Jade Buddha statue... no idea what that meant. welcome to taobums!!
