just a newbie, but I'd vote to stay in the position as long as comfy and just move/reposition as you feel like.

I basically told him not to listen to all those new agey wingnuts who will whine about practically anything. jk! Karen, that is a good perspective to keep in mind! I bet when the administration changes, I bet there will be a chance to appeal or ditch the decision.

I wish I lived in the UK! jk... sent Stephen an email.

just a newbie myself, but it seems to work fine in other sitting positions.

How humans are not physically created to eat meat
Yoda replied to Jedi777's topic in General Discussion
If you are interested in what science has to say turn to the China Study and not what a dentist in the 1930s came up with. Science can't prove that smoking or eating meat is hard on one's health, but can offer correlations which we are free to take to heart or not. Just keep in mind that correlation isn't causation... some say it's b/c meat isn't grass fed anymore. I think the issue of whether eating meat is helpful or harmful to one's spiritual practice is a different topic altogether and likely dependent on one's lineage. -
omg... serious yum!! In Jamaica, they'd haul fish out of the ocean and straight into coconut oil. Sigh...

Yay!!!! I'm a total Mak Tin Si fan so I'm glad he has found a good spot to set up shop!!! (Rodgerj, thanks for the partial credit, but I think he got this rolling before I started pestering him about it.) Yoda

Cat, Thanks for bringing us up to speed! Your pal, Yoda

the celibacy thing for guys is for going hardcore. Just play with K1 for the moment and see if you like it first.
-
As a spontaneous motion practice, if you feel like switching hand positions, standing on your head, etc. go with it!

Rodgerj, I've heard it said that it is the energy component which is the vital part. A man can either withhold all components in the first place, reabsorb the energy component, separate & retain the energy component in the first plac, or have the energy given/circulate back to you by a capable partner (like in Witch's heartgasm posts) or just regenerated through future practice. (I'd like to think that energy given to a partner in a loving relationship even if she isn't a yogic cultivator, still gets circulated and shared nicely in the relationship and in the world) I hope your toast didn't go cold! Your pal, Yoda

So it's my understanding that the Chinese New Year is on Monday Jan 26. We want to have a party but Mondays don't tend to draw much of a crowd. Is it commonly acceptable to wait until Fri the 30th? Also, what does one do for CNY parties anyways? We usually do dumplings, Chinese candy, do a dragon parade with the young kids dressing up as the dragon, etc. I'm curious for more ideas, thanks!

Purplerose, Welcome to taobums!! My calendar says CNY is Jan 26th, but I don't particularly care what day it is. Are there contending schools of thought out there or is my calendar misprinted? If it's solar, why not pick closer to Dec 21st? Mak Tin Si calls Jan 26 the "1st day" of CNY and says that there are 15 days all in all. I wonder what that's about. Your pal, Yoda
