  1. Dr. Sha = mixed feelings

Anonymous, I just moved your post to a Dr Sha thread. I couldn't find the thread I had in mind, but it'll work. You might get some responses there. If he can just 'give' enlightenment, he can just take it away too... so that could be an issue.
  2. Dr. Sha = mixed feelings

there is a Dr Sha thread around here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. The dude definitely offers a lot of good stuff and has the ability to heal and download to others, but it's not for everyone. welcome to taobums!
  3. Karma in taoism

I was just reading a debate between Mak Tin Si and Vajrasattva which got me wondering how much the philosophy of karma is in taoist thinking?

  5. Kunlun/Yogani

You can't go wrong. Maybe give them each a month and see how it goes. I know of great success stories with both. Done both about a year each. K is funner imo.
  6. Karma in taoism

I'm also wondering if there is such a thing as taoism that isn't hybridized with other traditions.
  7. Great thread!! It's an honor to have Ya Mu on the forum!

  12. Magnetic Qi Kung

I bought a strong magnet from Edmunds Scientific placed the correct side against my third eye and could feel definite stimulation. Only tried it once and I forget the right orientation, so it's a sidelined project.
  13. help me please

Hey, this post is in the tech support section of the basement so won't get the kind of traffic and responses down here. I'd suggest cutting and pasting it and start a new post in the main discussion area. Just like there are many different versions of Christianities, there are many different Taoisms both with and without hells. In general, Taoism is a bit more relaxed, forgiving, and accomodating and less controlling of the individual through moral codes. Having said that, there are many (most?) Taoists who believe in karma and rebirth. Personally, I consider myself both a Taoist and a Christian so that's an angle too. Your pal, Yoda

Ahmed, I'm glad you got out of that!! Your pal, Yoda
  16. I wonder if a cultivation system's lifestyle guidelines have less applicability for someone who doesn't practice within that system?
  17. YM, very interesting!! Mal, some psychologists say that greater choice correlates with discontent which could be problematic to a tbum!
  18. Happy New Year

    welcome 2 taobums!
  19. Along the same lines then... there is a set of rules that all animals must follow, but they manage it in many different and often contradictory ways. I like that... thanks! I practiced within the Kagyu lineage for 7-8 years and I had a Kagyu teacher tell me (paraphrased): "You aren't really a Buddhist, you know. It's a good affiliation for you right now, but it's not your thing long term." Interesting question about how free one is to choose.
  20. From what I can gather, it's a 'don't hold your breath' situation.
  21. Hi and happy new year

  22. .

Scott, Many outstanding insights there!!! After reading that, I had a vision of you hosting a DIY TV show: "Just drool into the cup, Cam. [scott looks up] So while Cam is doing his thing, why don't we see how they are making out in the standing meditation?" Your pal, Yoda
