thanks for the additional shaker info! That WSM does sound yummy! I'm trying to remember that dude's name who has a shaking compound down in Bali somewhere. I just saw "Lost World" cute flick. A woman in there does some shaking while dinosaur hunting... getting keyed up just does that I'd imagine. Seeker and Lino, thanks for the KAP clarification... it's in the system but not a main component then.

I didn't know Ya Mu has one too, cool! I haven't taken KAP and don't know how big of a component shaking is, but it seems to be in there from what I can tell.

Per Keeney per the San, power comes up first, then love in shaking. Getting past power is sort of like getting past the gravitational field chock full of the imps of worldly temptation.

My impression of the Kunlun Seminar tonight
Yoda replied to talkinghead's topic in General Discussion
To build on Scott's analogy, Kunlun has received such huge buzz around here that it inspires some bums to go past an instinctive aversion to Max and or the practice to at least check it out. "Only $20" kind of a thing. The problem arises that there was good reason for their instincts and end up spending precious time doing a practice that really doesn't mix well with their situation. It definitely isn't a good fit for everyone. -
It's good to keep in mind that there used to be full on astral dragon battles in this forum's history... craziness and negativity have always been big ingredients around here. I like to think that there's an alchemy that comes out of it. -Yoda

SV, I recently listened to the first Keeney CD of the set. Liked most of it, but don't really care for his music. I didn't give the CD in the book a chance. Will give it another listen whenever it re-materializes around here. Would definitely like to go to a seminar of his. Your pal, Yoda -
Gossamer, Thanks for the note! I haven't fully explored AZ or NM, but I agree... they do have groovy vibes! We'll have to do a taobum camping trip around there someday! Your pal, Yoda

Mr Rogers, Mother Teresa, and Seabiscuit are my favorite bodhisattvas!!

Winpro, My experiences of Max practices have been very positive and have definitely made me a better person. Having said that, my ego games are still business as usual. I've picked up through the content of your posts that you have had some radical transformations along these lines. Regardless of whether you are able to explain any of your experiences to the rest of us, I appreciate your stepping forward into the crossfire to chat about it. Your pal, Yoda

Rookie, I've heard that Sifu Jenny has a more down-to-earth vibe. Her book on the subject is due out sometime in 2009 and we'll announce it, of course. Your pal, Yoda -

Talkinghead, I'm glad you like the actual practice. If Max doesn't click with you, there's always Jenny Lamb who is doing a workshop in Colorado in Feb and likely will do more in 2009. And there are also other teachers like Vajrasattva on the forum and Bradford Keeney and an email course that Scotty found. your pal, Yoda -

I read the one star reviews too. If they resonate with me, then I won't get the book. But I only review the books I've actually read. -

Markern, Excellent point. I'm pretty amazed by his lack of worldly ambitions in terms of the traditional "wine, women, and gold" when it's dangling right there in front of the guy 24/7. I bet that a higher proportion of downward flow gurus can resist worldly temptations when compared to upward flow gurus. Your pal, Yoda -

Talkinghead, While I had a totally different experience, some do have that experience and that's why Max provides a free talk first. Your pal, Yoda -
http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachus...ong_way/?page=1 Happiness is very contageous, unhappiness not so much. I think it's b/c a happy person has a more powerful aura.

So the KAP-goes-to-London thread deserves mention here: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showto...amp;#entry91672

I'm diggin the intro stories! Here's mine: My day name is Kyle and I'm from Phoenix originally. When I was in high school, I began to have experiences of synchronicity which got me interested in understanding the hows and whys of the matter. I majored in religion at Swarthmore College and then got an MA in Buddhism at Naropa. In the process, I really bought into the concept of karma and samsara and set off to save all sentient beings... Years later, I noticed a few things: nobody had been saved, I was feeling frustrated, and my beloved synchronicities had turned on me. They had begun to attack me with negative experiences served up with plenty of magical coincidences to twist the blade. I had dedicated my life to saving all sentient beings and done a shitload of meritorious karma type practices, so it didn't make sense why I seemed to be punished for this. I eventually replaced my belief in samsara for a new agey it's-all-good philosophy and took up taoist style practices. Now I'm simply looking to have fun, and when I am in the groove, life is pleasantly magical once again. -Yoda

We had something of a crying game misunderstanding with her, but I forget the details.

Darin, You read my mind! I was just strolling down memory lane... the bums have been around for 4 years now and I forget how long the proto-bums had been at it before then but it has been a great thing. I'm very grateful for everyone's energy, knowledge, and love. It has been of great benefit to me and I'm sure many others. Your pal, Yoda
