Awesome!! It's fun to see what oozes up around here!

Glad you made it out! Your pal, Yoda

Karen, Thanks for adding that about Reich. Let me know if there are any good websites on Reich and shaking. Your pal, Yoda

So I just read Keeney's how-to instructions on how to shake: sit down and start to move slowly and rhythmically for 5-10 minutes at a time. As one gets used to this just start exploring new motions and perhaps add drumming music to up the energy level of the motions to ultimately get to intense shaking, quivering, etc. I'd imagine that watching his Bushmen vid on shakingmedicine.com might help set the mood.

that's a tuff one... better send Shon both! And don't forget to poke holes in the box.

I think the rule of thumb is that being single is much easier, but being in a relationship, family, etc can be more rewarding if you can deal. Anyone you are with, spiritual or not, will deliver you to you.

There's a great TED talk by Jill Bolte Taylor the brain scientist who had a stroke in her left brain which turned off her rational thinking... pretty wild to see what the right hemisphere is like and bizarre to think that we all have one. http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jill_bo...of_insight.html

I'm glad I have a budget or I'd be studying with everyone!! It truly is a blessing.

that is fun... you have a nice smile . My mom grew up when shoe stores would take xrays to see if your shoe fit and you could stand there wiggling your toes! Her dad was even a doctor, so she had access to live cam full body xray machines where you'd get filmed dancing around. She and her brother had lots of fun dancing for each other! The good old days!

interesting, thanks for posting!

Scotty, If you were practicing with those Bushmen would you fit in? Then what more could you ask for in your practice? Your pal, Yoda

with epigenetics, even eating onions can pass down traits that your grandkids will get, so how much more with spiritual practice? Beyond genetics, spiritual practices benefit both descendents as well as ancestors.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Keeney is sort of the Hugh Heffner of spontaneous chikung. It's my understanding that it is literally a non-physical rope.

I think of mudras as hand positions and asanas as body positions. I would have thought that Taoists would have mudras and asanas in their art, drills, etc but I could be wrong about that.

a fellow bum put me on to this vid: http://shakingmedicine.com/bushmen/video.php

So I have been musing upon "Initiation" by Elisabeth Haich which she says is about her journey through several lifetimes including one of being extremely spiritually high born in Egypt. She said that she attained a vey high level spiritually studying directly under an avatar but she said she gained too much while too young and she totally crashed hard as an adolescent and nuked her tuned nervous system. She got mummified which she said was the ultimate drag as her pissed off Ka had to sit there for a *very* long time pondering her dumb mistake and she wished that they had just thrown her in the Nile for the crocs to eat so her Ka could be released... it was the ultimate imprisonment experience by her account. In the Hindu perspective, they prefer cremation/animal consumption of the body for this reason. It's my understanding that the Tibetans leave the bodies out for the birds and dogs except occationally for a very high lama. But I've heard different things about the Tibetans. Generally, they go for cremation if available from what I understand. It's my understanding that mummification is cool for the spiritually awakened or the "on the path" type but I have huge doubts as to whether it's a good idea for a normal person or a crashed initiate like Elisabeth Haich said she was. So occultist, JM Greer says that the modern embalming techniques use substances that are toxic and repellent to the etheric body, so "Ka clinginess" or related vampiric peskiness isn't an issue in today's world. That seems to make sense to me and I haven't noticed lots of etheric body pollution out and about. But then again, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and would like other opinions on this. Thanks! interesting... thanks for adding that. I'll have to take a Jenny class at some point!

PM Vajrasattva about that. He works with spontaneous, but I don't know if it's in the course

after watching Dr Jill's stroke of insight talk: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jill_bo...of_insight.html I've been pondering how the left brain tries its best to do the job of the right brain, but never quite hits the spot!

it can feel pretty good too.

Keeney in Shaking Medicine seems to be saying that there are many types of movements in spontaneous practices around the world, but that they do fit into distinct categories like slow/rhythmic motion, vigorous shaking, mudras, asanas, speaking in tongues, etc. His book gives me the impression that there may be a universal sort of progression that goes on with the motions too.

Thanks SV! Scott and Yoda pretty much rock out...
