Off Topic: Anyone Else From The USA Scared For Their Life?
Yoda replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
I know a guy who camped out with machine guns and zillions of rounds for the y2k. He was disappointed overall. -
Happy Birthday Ian!!! 40 rocks out!!! I'm pretty stoked for our 40s!!! Let's grow old together.

Smile, We don't currently have much of a Kunlun critique around here from somebody who has actually tried the practice. It'd be great to hear from you on this front. Your pal, Yoda

Great topic! Some people say that the element/direction correlation isn't as important as making a heartfelt connection with each element. The Vaastu system I learned is NE water, SE fire, SW earth, NW air. Face northish while working and have the head towards the southish while sleeping. I forget how the other systems order things. I've heard it said that the 4 pillars of spiritual growth are: internal cultivation, love for others, sense of service, and harmony with the 4 elements where you are only as strong as your weakest department. I've heard it said in a Hindu context that even the greatest avatar is just a peanut if he/she is out of whack with the elements. As guests within their kingdom, even God has to play by their rules.

Great thread idea! Andrew Llyod Weber's "pie jesu", Palestrina, early western sacred, "Songs of Angels" by Robert Shaw, Tom Kenyon's angels cd and Nordic music.

Google thetaobums.com for anxiety for more suggestions. Taking magnesium in the powdered form and sleeping with your head towards the south (or SE, SW) might be worth experimenting with for quick fixes too.

nice list: I second that natural vitamins are better than synthetic magnesium is good stuff wheat grass juice is totally of the gods if you have the patience for it. Juicing something green isn't as great, but less work. Agharta, do you do Redmond clay anymore?

ddilulo_06, Cultivation practices will work down the road, but a few Yoda tricks in the meantime... Make a written list of positive aspects of somebody you really love and admire every night before you go to bed. Doesn't matter if you've ever met them or not. That'll help immediately. If you are game for magic, google the honey pot spell. Carry and hold a black rock like onyx, obsidian, or jet will help you ground and neutralize the negativity of those around you. You are doing them enough of a favor by taking on their crap... why carry it around? For the same reason, spend as much time outside as possible. Drugs: valerian and theanine work great but you have to give them time off. Maybe just for special occasions or for a few days at a time each. Chamomile is gentler and can be used on a more regular basis. You'll be an accomplished bodhisattva before you know it! Your pal, Yoda

BG, A vitamin, fish oil, clay/psyllium, tea (currently chamomile) and juicing are my main goodies. The vitamin is the daily thing and I'll cycle through the other stuff on and off. I'll keep this up until a few months before I transition to nonphysical. At that time, I'll sense its approach and gradually stop eating altogether as it'll help me take a more 'spiritual' view of things. On the other hand, I've met a gentleman who's last meal was Mexican food and I have a weakness for a few Mexican restaurants in Phoenix. Doubt I'll die there though. Sorry, got OT. Your pal, Yoda

whatever it is, I'd stop if I were you. Is it like with physical exercise where your legs are totally tired and they just give out on occasion? Even if it's as simple and innocent as that, still it's a good idea to back off. If more complicated then I'd see an MD. Good luck!! Your pal, Yoda

The practice is like any other: can be boring at times.

MnM, Welcome to taobums! Definitely check out alchemicaltaoism.com and advancedyogapractices.com too. Your pal, Yoda

growant, Max's energy is going to be pretty powerful during and right after the seminar and that feeling naturally subsides after the seminar but it'll wax and wane with practice too. No biggie, you can't lose it or anything. Even just taking the seminar and not practicing is of value. With practice, you'll gradually have more access to it. Your pal, Yoda

10 years of marriage have weeded out this particular strain of humor here in Degoba.

While I'm as green as it gets on all this and can only speculate, I do think that a lot of people are getting a heck of a lot out from just the book alone and I wouldn't be surprised if many are able to pick up on the transmission through different channels. It would be interesting to hear of any first hand accounts, etc. TOL, Taking time off isn't an issue, imo. Your pal, Yoda

Just grist for the mill. Yogani says that in this day and age you can get spiritual transmissions directly from celestial sources: http://www.aypsite.org/146.html

I love laughing/almost laughing when I'm not supposed to. Makes me feel like a kid again. Reminds me of laughing in the grade school library. We wouldn't find our jokes nearly so funny if there wasn't a noise prohibition and a librarian around to enforce the rules. Another time came up where I was in high school and I went to my maternal grandfather's funeral... fortunately, I kept a lid on it but I thought the whole serious tone was off the chain funny, but only Grandpa and I could appreciate it. Apepch7, Dig your avatar, btw. Your pal, Yoda -
TOL, I think if you decide to practice kunlun that you'd need to eliminate upward flow kundalini practices until you know what you are doing. ~~~ Of course there's also the problem of overvaluing transmission to the point of over reliance on a guru figure. In Max's case the transmission is pretty all important, from what I understand. The nice part of this, though, is that there's really not much reliance on the guru after the transmission. You only need to see him once and then that's that. No need even for a follow up email! I'm just going off clues I've found on this topic and not from direct experience so I could be wrong. Yoda
