  1. SHAKING by Bradford Keeney

Hundun, Cat, If some are allergic to Max, then Keeney may be another vehicle. Also, that dude who posted about Keeney on the K forum seemed to say that the two systems were distinctive and fun to run side by side. Also, being able to do kunlun or drumming is one thing but actually doing it on a regular basis is another. I read in Keeney's book that most Bushmen know how to get into the drumming groove but that many of them don't do it frequently enough for the purpose of healing and spiritual growth. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Your pal, Yoda
  2. SHAKING by Bradford Keeney

SV, Judging by my Kunlun experience, if it happens by itself that's great but do start consciously moving in any case. I remember from Keeney's book he likens the experience to rocking in a rocking chair: in some ways it's automatic motion but in others it's very conscious and deliberate. What starts consciously will eventually become somewhat "automatic". Yoda
  3. SHAKING by Bradford Keeney

So I just ordered the cd set so I can give an active kunloonie cultivator review. The set would sell better if they said it was a set of 6 cds. Or maybe I just missed that. I've only "gotten into" drumming once in my life but it was a great experience: I was at a rainbow gathering near Flagstaff Arizona and there were literally dozens of drummers around huge bonfires. That was incredible. I have an old Navajo drum made in the late 40s. I'm scared to touch it as I don't know if it's still strong, should be oiled, etc. Appears to be in good shape. I can tell from what I know so far that Keeney's path is weird like Kunlun. Mom wouldn't be into it!!! (Of course I did give her a copy of this book too... which *also* got ignored. I need to let moms just be moms!! )
  4. SHAKING by Bradford Keeney

Hundun, thanks for the review!! I'm glad you are scouting Keeney's work for us. I only listened to 30 seconds of the CD that came with the book and had a similar "not my vibe" reaction. I'll have to give it another go. I heard an absolutely rave review of Keeney's work on the kunlun forum the other day, so that definitely got my attention. I've been hoping for an alternative system to Kunlun to give the bums another flavor that might be more appropriate. On the shakingmedicine.com site, go to the home study course and scroll down to the 3 minute audio recording to get a flavor of Keeney. Yoda
  5. Laoshr

Laoshr, It's an honor to have you on the forum! If you were to send out a new edition of your book are there any changes you'd desire to make? Yours, Yoda
  6. Kunlun benefits?

or, at the very least, you start lighting your farts. Actually, I had a friend in college who suffered an injury while lighting his farts. More to his pride than his body when the hallmates rushed in to see what the commotion was all about. Memory lane is a sweet place! Yours, Yoda
  7. For the Kunlun practitioners

So the craziness continues... it seems that Master Toledo recognizes the old Max as his teacher but believes that the new Max is an impostor!
  8. Kunlun benefits?

As a cusp geminii born in the year of the Monkey, I am bored shitless with the three dimensional world. It's a miracle that I've lasted to the age of 40... but enough is enough!! Kunlun, Max, Mantra, and the kunloonies have been a real lifesaver for me. Phew!!!! Yoda
  9. Is David Bowie an enlightened one?

then there's Steven Segal, of course. What was that story again... recognized as a tulku, which doesn't necessarily mean enlightened this time around but he seems to be the cultivator type, so I'm sure he's reasonably far along.
  10. Is David Bowie an enlightened one?

    early David Bowie definitely.
  11. introduction

welcome to taobums, I hope you like it!
  12. A Nyingma Lama at the NJ seminar said that you can't find this information from any of the Tibetans. And if they had this information, they wouldn't be sharing it in a seminar! He said that we are extremely fortunate to have this opportunity, that it doesn't happen in most lifetimes. I sensed the opportunity, so I went to a seminar despite the fact that Max might be a total nutcase based on the omnipresent Max bashing by taobums who haven't met him or even read the book. Maybe they had a psychic bead on the situation? I discovered that my taobum bretheren who I hold in the highest regard were ***waaaay*** off target... In addition to once-in-a-lifetime(s) transmissions, Max is a super kind hearted guy and a lot of fun to be around. I really had to attend a second seminar to more deeply appreciate what he has to offer. ~~~ Satyalok, I'd love to hear more about your similar-to-kunlun system if you'd like to chat about it. Your pal, Yoda
  13. Max and Kunlun are definitely not for everyone. If his book or website rubs you the wrong way, that's a good sign that the practice is not for you. If you can't drop the subject maybe that's a sign to check out another spontaneous motion neikung system? I've heard an extremely excellent review of Bradford Keeney's system and it is very closely related to the Bushmen style shamanism. I've read his book but didn't really give his CD a good investigation. I'm lending Hundun the CD to see if he or his students can review it for us. If anyone would like to borrow the CD just let Hundun know and we can float it around before sending it back to Degoba.
  14. Kunlun Practice

I haven't read Max's new book yet, but if you have a hard time starting the energy flowing while just holding the posture, just gently rock side to side should do the trick.
  15. new kunlun book

WYG, Golden Flower which I think is in the new book is Egyptian. Seth, The feeling I get with Kunlun is that I can make significant progress in the practice during the course of this lifetime which seems to be draining me of my toxic load of impatience. Your pal, Yoda
  16. Q-Link -ahead of its time or scam

I dislike wearing things that mess with my field even if it's for the better. The example that comes to mind are power crystal type things. Maybe I can enjoy them for a week or so but after that it becomes a bit exhausting to keep wearing the sucker. One exception are black grounding stones. I have one on me most of the time. They don't seem to disturb my field but just enhance my connection with the earth. I'm neutral about wearing copper long term... it doesn't exhaust me, but it doesn't seem to do that much for me either. I can't really tell what the Qlink is doing, but seems to be some sort of oriented copper coil or something. I'd likely be able to at least deal with its presence.
  17. Intro and Hi

Rism, Welcome to taobums! I'm sure you are aware of this, but in case not: advancedyogapractices.com is a great reference and borrows heavily from Kriya yoga. I doubt you'd need prior experience, but if you want more feedback post your question on the main discussion section where more people will read it and respond. Your pal, Yoda
  18. Greetings

    Welcome to taobums!
  19. Nepalese "Buddha Boy"

Scott, Thanks for the link! Drew, the dude is in full lotus! Your pal, Yoda
  20. new kunlun book

Not for everyone meaning that it definitely involves experiences that are waaaay outside the modern western mindset in a certain direction. While the experiences are quite secondary to the basic virtues that it engenders, still it is only for a particular subset of the cultivator population who is okay with this particular flavor of weird... AugustLeo's personal practice threads hints at what I'm talking about. I think Max's eccentricities much discussed here do carry some of that vibe and serve as either a fair warning or an enticement as appropriate. While I love the Kunlun program and I can never ever get enough eccentricity and weirdness, even the mighty Yodster finds it shocking at moments. To think that I gave my Mom a copy of the book when I first got into the practice!!!! Fortunately she just rolled her eyes and got on with her life without a second thought... phew!!
  21. western magic

HG, I followed that link to the amazon reviews. I liked the guy who said that this is for conjuring entities who will appear right before your eyes... anyone here been able to do that through magical symbols, mantras, and ceremonies? Yoda
  22. Violently ill when falling in love?

I'll have to check out that movie!
  23. new kunlun book

I used to have the impression that Kunlun would be a great addition to most people's practice. I no longer think that. Definitely follow your intuition about it. If you order the book, there's a wide variety of shipping options, so check that out too. Love the cover!!
  24. Violently ill when falling in love?

    All that cultivated critical mass...
  25. Bye for now!

Emily, Enjoyed having you here! your pal, Yoda
