Sunfreak, This site is essentially a creation of your own mind... keep up the good work! Yoda

Oh, so we won't be hearing much from Dakota. That's cool. Otherwise we'd be wondering which one we were dealing with.

I just signed up for the NJ workshop and now I read that the 5 element standing might be taught!! I totally flunked it my first time and haven't been practicing it... If Max skips it, it's fine with Yoda! We'll fill in our taobum pals after class! (Unlike Kunlun, it requires this thing called "work". )

Witness protection program!!

Jasmer, They are just making it open to people who have attended a workshop. But don't worry, there will always be a lot of chatting about Kunlun on taobums!! Your pal, Yoda

Reminds me of the story of the woman who asked her son to buy her a relic of the Buddha during his trading trips to northern India. He kept forgetting to do so, so she threatened to kill herself if he didn't bring one back on his next trip. As he was walking into his village from the final trip he realized he had forgotten to buy a relic. Fortunately, there was a dead dog by the side of the road so he pulled out a tooth from the dog and told his Mom that it was from the Buddha. She loved it so much that the tooth gained a tremendous amount of spiritual power and people came from all over to receive healings from it. In any case, my practice can beat up your practice!

Oh, the Anne-Marie... who legend has it went to Phoenix to go golfing but decided to take Max's class on the flip of a coin and now has become a taoist immortal! I'm sure you would have become a very good golfer, too, if that's any consolation. Your pal, Yoda

AriesAnne, Our fearless webmaster is an Aries too! Welcome to taobums! Is your husband also a member? Is he doing Kunlun/Red Phoenix too? I was at the November workshop in Phoenix and might go to NJ as it may be Max's last appearance for a bit. Yours, Yoda

He tends to cover standing, Kunlun, and Red Phoenix.

what's the lotus walk?

Rain, you always make me laugh! Drew, thanks for sharing... cool story! I know someone who passed out holding his breath in a grade school contest too. During band practice. And then there is the full lotus vs siddhasana debate. From the Hatha Yoga Pradipika:

Bodri has lots of energy cultivation practices going on: retention, white skeleton meditation visualization practice, 9 bottle breathing, stretching, merit cultivation, supplements, etc... He just recommends a healthy balance and not to engage in forceful energy practices... sage advice. Bodri's energy practices are too forceful for me, though.

I think it's also called the sword mudra and it's in other systems too. I've not tried it. http://www.metahistory.org/images/EyeHandMudra.jpg

Froggie, Just off the top of my head (so to speak) I'd say that some sort of embracing the tree position with the hands at forehead level, palms focused on the crystal palace would be your best bet. Yours, Yoda

Froggie, Welcome to taobums! I doubt that a hand position can replace what kechari does per my limited experience, but keep the advancedyogapractices.com forum in mind for kechari related questions. Yours, Yoda

Jill, Nice websites! Welcome to taobums! Yours, Kyle
