I am just your average everyday taobum!

very cool.

Synophion, I think that might be a Britishism of you. I think that the freshness vs experience axis is fairly balanced out in terms of relative positive aspects*, that it's not a very important distinction for me. In any case, I'm almost 40 and the poll is a fun idea. Yours, Yoda *In the field of spiritual cultivation. In the business world, experience more often trumps freshness and in general life happiness freshness seems to trump experience. In music, freshness seems to carry the day, but in writing the middle years are best, sports freshness, etc. I've heard it said that adults are the most happy in their 20s and again in their 70s assuming good health... that it's a bell shaped curve. I think we may get too serious or stuck in a rut in the middle years.

freeform, How long have you been doing flowfit? You must be a real gymnast by now! Very admirable!! I know everyone says that gentle stretching and yoga helps energy flow through the subtle channels but I've not seen a consensus about the flowfit type of stretching but I'd imagine that it would be similarly helpful. High pitched chattering sounds like it may have been Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. I've long suspected that they are the patron saints of many a taobum.

abramelin, Welcome to taobums! Yoda

Valerio, Your English is good, btw. I think over half of the taobums got into Taoism through Chia and Winn. If you haven't looked at alchemicaltaoism.com, I'd recommend it. It has road tested the Chia/Winn material and helps adapt it. -Kyle

PM Mantra68. I'm sure he can get that for you.

thanks for the clarification.

If the self inquiry path works for you then do it. It's the quickest way. It took Ramana less than a day start to finish... gotta love that.

I'll give my thumbs and big toes a good rubdown before practice, thanks for the suggestion!

About her retreat... sounds like Rain is leaving me in the dark!

Vortex, I had no doubt that Mad Max covered the DMT angle. Maybe the fish oil I'm taking boosts the DMT too. Feels like it. I've got a bottle of tryptophan around here somewhere. Maybe I'll check that out too. Drew wrote about taking Salvia and seemed to have fun with it. Yoda

I agree... it's a great path for the extremely evolved set, but not worth the time for the average practitioner.

Lauren, Welcome to taobums! I hope you enjoy it! Yours, Kyle

okay, so there are some aliens involved. Maybe we need aliens please and no aliens allowed subforums. But just regarding third eye development, it's an interesting show. http://www.aypsite.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3581 Just some background from the biology of kundalini before checking it out: Interestingly the word pineal stems from the word pineus for pinecone although the pineal gland is about the size of a grain of rice. The Thyrsus is a staff tipped with a pinecone and twined with ivy, carried by Dionysus, his revelers, and satyrs. Dionysus represents the God of the metamorphic process of spiritual death and rebirth; the most mysterious human experience ever to be encountered. Dionysus must have been the first God of Kundalini for he carries a Thyrsus. Whether it signifies the pineal gland or not, it is obvious that the pinecone represents the "flowering" of consciousness. The pinecone is reminiscent of the thousand petalled crown chakra--the Sahasrara, and the ivy represents the double-helical flow of kundalini around the central channel of the spine--the sushumna. This symbol is perhaps a more ancient version of the staff of Hermes--the Caduceus, which used in alchemical and esoteric schools and now the medical industry.
