The siddhis of having good friends, a loving family, a comfortable lifestyle, a career you enjoy, etc aren't exactly chump change. But having said that, it is very true... seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven. To the extent that one can do that, the happier one can be in the fickle Siddhi City.

My pal had a funny idea: everyone, even political allies, seem to get the heebeegeebees (sp?) from Dick Cheney. He thought it would be fun to do a completely sincere, worshipful youtube montage to Dick Cheney with a nice uplifting soundtrack like "It's a wonderful world". Neither of us have the ability to put something like that together, but if anyone would think this would be amusing, we'd love to see it! Oh wait, there is actually a Dick Cheney tribute montage on youtube. There are actually people out there who like him... (!) not as amusing as I had thought.

I couldn't tell if I had seen the right vid. Was it the one of the fat cat in the Oregon humane society shelter?
-
Cromagnons are people too!

That's pretty cool. I think I read something to that effect in Paramahansa Yogananda's books. I wonder if one can get out of the gravitational field of Vaastu/fengsui related influences?

Mantra's clip is what my daughter looks like. She isn't into the practice because it's too ticklish but will do it, at times, for my amusement. Occasionally, it won't spark up for her, but most of the time it will.

Bum Grasshopper, I was having the same issue Mal was but last night I figured I'd just try it with the speakers and was very happy with the results. There were particular moments especially that really resonated my niwan. Very cool!!! And not having to mess with headphones is a *huge* plus. I could tell the entrainment was working as I often listened to speaker locations behind me that didn't exist. The subjective experience was that my niwan was in general a tiny bit more energized than when during normal Kunlun, but there were often moments when there was a real spike of stimulation which had a tickling/amusing vibe to it but would subside before I needed to laugh. You belong in the Kunlun Hall of Fame... whenever they get around to that. Your pal, Yoda

Placebo healing is just as good as any other, imo.

I'd definitely be in. If it's just a few of us, you can stay at my place and do Kunlun in my back yard! Max had mentioned doing a fishing trip or a camping trip at some point. While that's still a good ways off in the future, it'd be fun to brainstorm locations.

I'll have to video my daughter attempting Kunlun. It's pretty funny.

AugustLeo, In case that gringo doesn't answer, I talked to him about the 6,000+ members and he didn't really know how many of those are somewhat active. The number I like to keep track of is how many active users have been on the site at any one moment and we are up to almost 1,300 on occasion! It seems that growth is accelerating too. I'm really thrilled that kids can come of age in a world with taobums, alchemicaltaoism, the future Kunlun forum, etc. Your pal, Yoda

Omg! What a coincidence!!! Right about the same time too. I wonder if Across the Universe was inspired by the Maharishi?

Awesome pic!!!

Wow... a Witch/Drew Hempel dialogue!! The things they didn't teach me in college... I wonder how the full lotus differs from siddhasana sitting?

We're all here because we aren't all there! Welcome to taobums!

If I remember correctly, there was some sort of serious falling out between him and the Dalai Lama and others. I forget, and could be wrong, though. I remember tossing out my copies of his books at the time.

Congrats to Tolle on that! He must have watched "The Secret" and mastered its priniciples!

Wait a second... how is Rain going to read her book???

Sean, Thanks for putting the word out! Yoda

As RP slips away, I'm hoping that Obama does well. Here's a link for any Obama fans: dipdive.com I'm not excited like I was with RP, but I'll vote for him.

From reading Dr. Sha's books, I put together the "All-in-one Everything Prayer" that I'm having fun with. Here it is, I like to start from the top: "Dear Soul, Mind, and Body of..." And insert list of God/teachers/gurus/fav bodhisattvas/taoist immortals/etc etc etc... Include absolutely everyone you can think of and end with some sort of "and every other very cool teacher like that" Then address your body and the material world: "Dear soul, mind and bodies of all the cells, organs, chakras, nadis, vertical and horizontal energy circles, LTT, upper jiao, ni wan center, sinews, etc. Get as specific as you Like. You can include the sun, earth, planets, stars, galaxies, universes, the 5 elements, etc etc Then address family and ancestors. I even include Toby, my childhood dog. Then friends, coworkers, clients, customers... definitely include your business associates!! and even your home, car, and gear especially if you are going camping! And "Everyone and everything else" for good measure. Once you've assembled this rather sizable group, say good morning, I'm glad to see you, you look great today (some sort of compliment) I love you, let's work together to generate lots of love, happiness, fun, and abundance for all beings without exception. etc. Something out of "How to Make Friends and Influence People" heavy on the compliments and appreciation with a snappy team work affirmation in there somewhere. And close with Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Depending on the amount of time one has, it's fun to remember to name past friends from third grade or an old pet rat and to change up the list all the time keeps the whole drill quirky and fun. Dr Sha has lots of add-ons and others just sort of come to mind as well. Dr. Sha calls it "say hello power" of just saying hello and saying something thoughtful to one's MCO or Kwanyin, for instance, is a nice thing to do. Yoda
