I think it's imperative for healers to discharge the negativity that they pick up between the time of healing and going to bed. I think Kunlun would be an excellent way to release that energy. If they are sensitive, maybe they could go by feel or just wait until before going to bed. If they are adventurous, they might try Kunlun before healing... it charges up the hands bigtime. The only problem with that is that I tend to be overly sensitive after Kunlun. On the whole, I like to do Kunlun very late in the day. Just keep that whole ayp self pacing thing in mind, and you'll be able to figure it out I'd imagine.

Oh, I hadn't read that... they only saw the "reflection of sunlight on two airliners." My bad!

Mal, Thanks for assembling those links! T.I.- I asked Max if it was okay to do Hindu mantras and Kunlun and Max said it was fine as long as they were at different times of the day. I hope that helps! Your pal, Yoda

Maybe it's a "know the yang, but stick to the yin" kind of a thing.

He loses charisma without his writers, but the professional writers are much creepier imo... I can't even channel surf anymore!

Dr Sha calls it "Say Hello Power" and advocates saying hi and making small talk with your organ souls and gives conversational suggestions... reads like a networking article... say hi, use their name, give them small compliments, thank them and let them know that they are appreciated by many, and make plans to chat again and move on before the conversation gets stale. Don't worry if it's just superficial chat... let it go deeper if the situation favors it, but otherwise keep it light. Yoda: what's up? Colon: same old shit. Yoda: I see. [pause] You know, I don't often say this, but I really appreciate what you do for me. I'm not just saying that either. And I'm not alone... the other guys all agree that you are fantastic and that we really appreciate you. The thorax told me pointedly to say hi and to personally thank you for your help. We're all in this together. Colon: [pause] Yoda: Look, I know I've totally blown you off and it's not cool but there you have it. I'm not asking to be forgiven or anything. I just want you to know that I'm going to be better around here and a better friend to you in the future. Hey... I've got to run, but we'll be in touch. Thanks for your time and thank you again for all your help... there's no way I could make it through the day without you! ~~~~ One thing Dr Sha says is that the body generally runs into trouble from too much energy concentrated in one area rather than too little energy. I would have thought that it would be the other way around.

So I continue to enjoy Dr. Sha's books. He says that you can actually see your soul sitting in your LTT and looks like a little dude or something just like in the Secrets of the Golden Flower type artwork. He also says that pretty much everything and everyone including organs and cells have souls too. I wonder if they have little dudes sitting in their LTT's?

Good question... just a wild guess... it changes the effects of the practice but sounds like a fun idea. At Max's workshop, they had us listen to music to help the standing practice flow better, but I haven't experimented with it much myself.

William Bodhri skeleton visualition mantra practice
Yoda replied to dachengchuan's topic in General Discussion
you can google taobums for more information on "WSM" and "white skeleton meditation" cool practice. Made me too horny... Mrs Yoda had to put me curbside until I stopped. -
Bum Grasshopper, Thanks for the file! I dig the sound and the effect. Actually, Max talked about gamma in relationship to Red Phoenix as a way to boost the cultivation of the niwan. I'm thinking that RP practice or a niwan type visualization practice would mix very nicely with your sound track but I'll definitely experiment with both and report back. Yours, Yoda

Some schools say not to cut... just achieve Kechari through stretching, supporting practices and merit. AYP says cutting is cool. I just dipped cuticle snippers in rubbing alcohol and made a little snip here and there. I knew I wasn't ready for the practice, but I just wanted my tongue ready for when I am. I only kept it up for a few months and only gained just a bit of flexibility. The pilgrim might also find delight in Kechari's sexual applications... This is definitely on my to do list!

2007's new development has got to be the arrival of Max and Chris... never before has taobums been swept up like this. Over a dozen of us have been to the workshops and dozens more are following the practice. It's really been something. We'll see if Sean and Chris set up another Kunlun specific forum or not... either way, it'll be fun. The size of taobums.com has really taken off to over 1,000 users on it at one time. We are rapidly becoming a major search engine destination for Chinese cultivation and related practices. I think the experience level and the amount of cultivation progress around here has also picked up markedly too. I'm even picking up groovy taobum vibrations through the ether... there's almost a transmission energy going on with so many great energies involved. I hope that picks up in the future. A great year and I'm sure 2008 will be fun too. Thanks to Sean for putting together and maintaining such a great forum and thanks to so many great, insightful bums out there... I learn something every day around here. Yoda

Search kechari on this forum and on advancedyogapractices.com. There's a cool youtube linked somewhere. I had a spontaneous kechari experience once, but I don't remember how far my tongue got, but much further than I can consciously do it. When I was following AYP I was snipping my frenum a bit. I'll get into it in the future at some point. I think it would mix well with a number of other practices... from asana, pranayama, to meditation/stillness practice to Kunlun, spontaneous chikung, etc... once you can park your tongue there, it doesn't take any effort to leave it there for stillness practice so I'm told.

A friend of mine bought and swears by his organic rubber from the rubber tree mattress with a hefty layer of wool on top. I was quite impressed by it and felt that the wool layer was where the magic was.

Max had recommended to me to listen to gamma inducing music, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet. Sounds like a great project... I would love to try it out!
-
It's my understanding that it's on Sean's to-do list which could be awhile, but my spider senses say within a month or two.

sweet Kunlun clip, Chris!!!!! Not Kunlun, but apropos of the Kunlun wars: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jEOkxRLzBf0&feature=related

Taobums was originally set up to be completely independent of any one school and I think that our affiliation is too close right now, but balance will be restored soon enough. Nice to hear from Max again! -Yoda

Turbo, Email me or tell me here... so what was your final experience with Kunlun? Did you go back to AYP? Found something else? Did you get too emotionally sensitized by it (hence not ideal for the lawyer caste)? Don't leave Yodsterz hangin' like that!! It was a great honor to meet you in Phoenix. Your pal, Yoda

Scoring the webmasters Belgian beer... you are living up to your namesake!! Definitely an asset to the abbey! Your pal, Yoda PS when you've set up your commune, let us know and we'll come out for a Kunlun party!

Mantra, Sifu Jenny must have sent that dude your way... making us all Buddhists again. The thing I ultimately couldn't deal with during my last incarnation as a Buddhist is the existence of hell and ghost realms that folks get stuck in for gazillions of years. If I ever become a Buddhist again, that's *got* to be scratched from the contract. Your pal, Yoda
