It's like the Rocky Horror Picture Show Seriously though, I imagine most of the non-members are here just on a one-time basis googling some odd experience or practice and then moving on. I think I found the original healing tao site by googling sperm retention and finding some crazy Ron Jeremy rant and I stuck around. It'll be interesting to see if Sean and Chris set up a Kunlun specific site.

The Internet pretty much rocks! Welcome to Taobums!

Plato from nyctaoist.com and Michael Winn have both given him rave reviews, that's all I know. Welcome to Taobums!

Good call. Who else?

Obama was against the war from the start, so he has my respect. From what I've heard, he's not a huge spender like the other Democrats. He won't lower taxes so we'll simply move our military spending to domestic spending, but that'll be a huge improvement over W. If RP doesn't win the nomination and Obama does, I'll be tempted to vote for him. I'll have to review his voting record first.

Careful about those mini-piggy breeds. I know one person directly, and have heard stories about others buying a mini breed only to have the pig grow gigantic and dominate the back yard and their lives and are not as cute anymore. Pet rats raised by a good breeder, not the pet shop, rock... they are cute and friendly and smart *and small*. Henry is in heaven, but is smiling down on me no doubt.

Dorian, Welcome to taobums, with your serious avatar and great experiences! Taobums is the Fantasy Island for cultivators and we always fight over who gets to be Tattoo. The harder your path, the better teacher you'll be. Your pal, Yoda

I'm glad he's doing so well and that Giuliani isn't.

good distinction between Red Phoenix and Kunlun.

Well, I whiffed on my RP taking Iowa prediction but am happy for anti-war Obama's strong showing. He sounds like a nice second choice for me.

One of my ambitions is to get back into standing practice and I have found Max's 5 Elements before Kunlun practice to be a nice mix. Max and Chris' next book will include the 5 Elements, but I'd imagine any sort of stance training would mix nicely. Standing helps charge up Kunlun and Kunlun helps digest and distribute the standing.

cool... RP won a Fox call in poll. I think call in polls are more accurate as that probably correlates with people who will actually vote.

On taobums, that's called the gunslinger pose... it's a good one!

Vortex, Our late SC senator, Strom Thurman, said that he'd go jogging in the 1950s and people would be amazed and incredulous and the police would stop him all the time. He would tell them that he's not running away from anything, that he enjoyed it, and it was good for his health. They'd just shake their heads. Yoda

As part of my Vaastu improvement project, I recently read "Getting things done," have one that Sean recommended on my bookshelf, and have "Organizing from the inside out" that Lozen recently recommended. That's my 2008 resolution: get organized!

Oolong Rabbit, If I remember correctly, Mantra asked us not to get involved with that particular dvd set, so maybe we shouldn't put it on the lending library. Maybe Mantra could clarify this. But I think you are right: there's nothing trippy or esoteric about the standing forms and it'll be out in the next book soon and in the meantime traditional standing postures will work well. I'm on a Mac... no idea how to cut and paste with it. Google nootropics wiki.

not tried holding onto magnets, have you?

Thanks for the games! I'll love playing with them! Mrs Yoda promises me constant sex for 60 days if RP wins but I have to finish the quarter round if he loses. I've got a lot riding on this! Btw, I just got a Wii... I'd like to play it with my kids and their friends... does wii have any good games for kids, preferably educational?

Yoda's prediction: Ron Paul will win Iowa (close) NH by a wide margin, win the whole thing on super Tuesday and win the presidential race. I predict Bloomberg will run as an independent and will invest 100s of millions of dollars into his race and the advertising will be absolutely top notch, Madison Avenue. It'll be a close race, but he won't be able to beat RP.

Vortex, I would think that Red Phoenix would work ok for taking walks, I doubt you are picking up much benefit while walking based on my experiments with other postures. Yoda

I just read "Energy Victory" by Zubrin. A great book... very uplifting. In 1995 Brazil and the USA were equally dependent on foreign oil and now Brazil is completely independent largely through using flexible fuel vehicles. Essentially, the book says that flexible fuel will ultimately solve our dependence on the whims of the Saudis... it's already in the bag and market forces will force the transition sooner or later. A great read. I hadn't studied flexible fuel in detail before and had assumed that it was too problematic, but I was very wrong. It's nice that we won't have to be completely dependent upon a nation that bankroles terrorism. Timeline would be 10-20 years, likely.

Okay, okay, PA is a great state! Now my next goal is to be able to drive home tomorrow morning. My car on e85 can't start below freezing. I might need a heat lamp or something to get rolling! The best E85 conversion kit "Full Flex Gold" to adjust the fuel mix for cold starts and everyday e85 running runs about $380. I'll take the drive home to assess the mileage I get from the E85 mix. If it's about the same as gas then the kit will pay for itself in the first year. If it's a lot less on e85 I might not worry about the conversion kit and just run the car partially on e85 in the winter and fully in the summer if my research continues to be positive. Any gearheads here? What's the effect of running an engine a bit on the lean side for the long term?
