  1. time of day to practice Kunlun

portcraig, Thanks for the timeline, you rock! So far the midnight thing is doing it for me. I'll have to check out the 3am and the 8pm thing. Yoda
  2. Kunlun Scottsdale Jan 19-20

Banned Cam just emailed me... he wanted people to know that not only are the hotels in Scottsdale pricey, they are pretty much booked. Being from Phoenix, I'd recommend checking out hotels in Phoenix, Tempee, or Mesa... a bit more of a drive but I'm sure much more affordable and with more vacancies.
  3. Merry Christmas Everyone.

Hey... Santa just scored me a Wii!! I haven't become a sleepless Kunluner yet, but it's nice to have just in case!
  4. 5 years to the next cycle?

I do my best to believe in as much far out stuff as possible but I try to keep the doomsdaying down to a dull roar now that I'm a family man. If the bottom were to ever fall out prematurely, it's good to know that when a bunch of people make their transition at the same time that it's a serious party scene. Per one of Cam's recent links, I like to think that there is a giant spaceship/hollowed out planet headed our way. I forget its name... starts with an M... but it's like in a different dimension and shit, so no biggie.
  5. Sean, Is there a link a taobum can order it through? Quickly, I'm twitchy. -Yoda
  6. How the West Lost Alchemy

I'll print it out and read later... looks interesting!
  7. 5 years to the next cycle?

Let's cross that bridge when we get there! My aim sucks, so I would have to stick with shotguns. Better yet for my pride and karma, I'll just brave it with ole thunder and lightning here... the karmic payback on that wouldn't be bad at all.
  8. 5 years to the next cycle?

Cat, I think getting off the English isles and buying lots of canned food and shotguns is the generally regarded sound decision. While I'm very fond of crazy shit, there is zero chance of the planet X thing... astronomers have big, healthy egos and to be the one to find a massive planet out there (even if it's bad news) would be a huge honor. If one kept quiet about it, another would have piped up on the other side of the planet... and a massive planet off the normal orbital plane would've been discovered by the late 1700s. They even picked up on tiny Pluto and Charon's far out gravitational disturbances in the early 1800s. Currently there are *very slight* gravitational disturbances that cannot be explained by the known planets and asteroids but are consistent with the presence of comets well past the orbit of Pluto. Anything as big and off tilt as Nibiru would have been announced 200 years ago and easily pin pointed by any amateur astronomer in the late 1900s. The Washington Post article did run, but that was just Neugebauer's initial brainstorming and the image turned out to be other things. Your pal, Yoda
  9. So, I've been doing Kunlun for about a month and I've been very much enjoying it. The next question that comes to mind is that I'm wondering if the benefits of the practice can be torched by doing something stupid/bad karma/etc in this or another life. Not that I'm planning on anything stupid, but I wouldn't put it past me! I've heard it said that some practices the gains can be lost and in other practices, the gains are permanent. The story Mantra told about the student of Max gaining siddhis and then losing them (and it seemed like he lost his will to practice too) makes me wonder about this. I'm not really worried about gaining and losing siddhis per se, but rather the underlying compassion/bliss/etc benefit.
  10. Can Kunlun be lost?

    fun thread, thanks!
  11. Kriyas

Interesting article on kriyas. The initial roughness reminded me of Turbo's initial experience of Kunlun: http://www.eaglespiritministry.com/teachin...collie/eckm.htm

  14. Kunlun and spontaneous movement qigong

I'm curious about the relation between Kunlun and other spontaneous qigong forms... couldn't tell you. This is my first exposure to anything along these lines.
  15. cool squat mobility article

I believe flat footed squats to be of superior benefit to doing them on your toes. Here's rare footage of Japanese poo-ing: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YsDbOMJOMgQ

  17. cool squat mobility article

LOL! On youtube there's footage of Japanese poo-ing on their hidden camera tv show and it turns out they keep their pants on. I think they have extra mobility and naturalness from doing it for so long... their pants are bunched around their knees so nothing gets in the way. (also, their toilets are much designed, which gives them an advantage.) They are still surprised when their potty rockets through the roof, though. The bolts of the toilet should hold you, but that is a consideration... always test how solid the connection is! It is better for you for a more complete and joyful poo.

So I got the book, "Shaking Medicine" that Ken Cohen endorsed. I'll read it over the holidays and report back.
  19. ,

Kunlun feels more idiot proof than the Kundalini systems. I'd go for the current book right now... you don't want to waste a month or two of lifegasms like that to save $20!!!
  20. Cam's Pointless Thread

Cam, You are like me, you can't not post... it defies gravity! The only thing that would get you off taobums is to get a Kunlun forum rolling. Why fight it? Your pal, Yoda
  21. Kunlun Question

SB, My guess on the heel thing... it's to reduce earth connection to help tune into heaven connection... My guess on the hand position is to send that heaven energy downwards into the body... My guess on the motion thing is once you get some heaven energy in the bodster then letting it move around to balance, clear out, charge up, process, etc. My guess on the close down is to bring the earth energy back into balance slowly and to settle down the heaven chi. I'm glad you are cracking a smile! Your pal, Yoda

    Welcome to taobums!
  23. Can Kunlun be lost?

Thanks for everyone's thoughts, very interesting! Speaking of siddhis, I've heard that no master can bring back more than three people back from the dead. After they hit three, they have to stop. Even the big guns like Jesus, Buddha, etc couldn't go past 3. No explanation given. Mantra's story involved the loss of siddhi due to making a deal with someone who didn't have the best intent. He said that siddhis are gifts from the divine realms and can be revoked if you piss off the giver(s). I got that part and that makes sense to me. The part I'm wondering about is that the guy seemed to lose heart, ambition, will to practice and went back to drug use, etc. I want a practice where I can do wretchedly awful things to my fellow human beings and still keep my gains! Is that too much to ask? I don't mean that I'm interested in avoiding picking up the negative karma from being a dickhead, things like that happen, but I don't want to lose the signal 1,000 lifetimes down the road. As long as I stay out of the gunshop, I'm pretty confident that I won't do anything evil in this lifetime, but just looking out for my interests down the road. Yoda

Drew, I agree with Cat that you have a great vibe and a great message. It's great to have you on the forum! Your pal, Yoda
