Rich CEOs Call For Raising Retirement Age To 70, Medicare & Social Security...
skydog replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Okay I will explain with a pretty poem/story/joke Once upon a time there was a guy called joe, when joe got annoyed, frustrated, angry, his energy vibration decreased, so all his thoughts matched his energy vibration, once he was watching videos about all the things wrong with the world, this frustrated him to no end as there was just so many. So he went out did some spontaneous movements in the garden and was finding it difficult to walk because he was in so much bliss, he remembered he had some kind of issue, but it made no sense anymore, suddenly he found himself thinking completely different things about the situation. He laughed. Knowledge can be forgotten and rerembered. Ever taken peyote in that state theirs no fear of death etc, what is knowledge is thoughts coming from the vibratory state one is at, you forget knowledge, knowledge comes and goes it depends on mood, someone in a bad mood cannot understand certain ways of seeing the world. Idealism went to the shores to meet future projection. Future projection was an old man but liked many things such as lillies and discussing politics. Idealism, never met reality before and one of the only ways to meet reality was to stop adding unneccessary fog, so idealism sat in zazen making it easy to see clearly but it was not the only way just 10 minutes of pure emptiness, all thoughts and philosophies and conceptual thinking seemed like a circle chasing a dog chasing its tail, so of into the wilderness was the bear, the bear was not like everybear it was itself, it hated the two men philosophies and conceptual thinking, but they existed and had its purpose and beauty but to him they were pain in the but just like constant diahreaa and this was only learned by being their friends until he saw them for what they truly were illusions. He hated them and thought conceptual thinking and philosophies were useless and a crime, but the zen master pandabogin bu stepped out from the bush and hit him on the head to show him that he too was involved in conceptual thinking. This killed the bear. But that was just the way it was.- 48 replies

Did the Dalai Lama use a Siddhi power on this scientist?
skydog replied to Jetsun's topic in Buddhist Discussion
The Dalai Lama pondered the question for a moment then told her that we tend to expect too much from the people who are close to us. We develop unrealistic expectations and project nonexistent qualities onto them. He told her a more pragmatic approach is simply to accept their flaws. This would lessen potential disappointment and reduce anger well thats profound thanks -
To Willingtolisten. I especially struggle with this during fasts, and used to anyways. One thing that makes me feel sleepy is a long period of sitting meditation or spontaneous movement before bed. Ill just plop to sleep. peace

Taoism neither repressed celibate monk 100% perfect nor wild criminal, partying all the time, staying up all night, lazy unproductive...

Ok so a lot of emptiness, peace..anyways, when feeling peaceful acceptance of death is easier. But I think to some degree it is important to always be able to deal with their own death peacefully and without excessive fear. Ok to some extent this is easy, However what is more difficult is to accept death of loved ones. Yes I 90% believe in reincarnation and who knows one day I can transcend all this but still I am talking about the actual death. Or perhaps this is unneccessary and basing oneself in reality/emptiness is the only thing that really matters with this subject. opinions?

"Best exorcism is positive energy" I guess so

Does anyone find they do this. You know the old focus on yourself dont worry about others... Can this ever be perceived as selfish, and innoble just about pleasing others. Perhaps it will make one feel very disharmonious, but is that selfish to worry about how you feel?

Is compassion just an idea a duality And the idea its an idea is also a duality From the place of non duality is of importance, but even that creates a duality

Nice reply Some further thoughts that your post has illustrated...Im with you on your second paragraph, Im not sure about this but the moment I try to define what it is its like opposite has to happen by virtue of yin and yang, or something. If I say its all about non doing and being spontaneous, I notice a situation about forcefulness and how its the tao too then I realise I didnt know anything then vice versa. If I get into deep peace, I might be like "Im so peaceful! great" then the opposite happens, so attempting to define it is not just running away from it, but completely running away from it or creating tension which you illustrated great well. Anyways yes chuang tzu is great..Good night to you

Taomeow I found your post excellent, thanks. You made a point at the end about whatever you do, do it perfectly. I dont think we are disagreeing here, I think it is just the wording, but wanted to share further thoughts. Well the thing that boggles me is this whole idea of "try to be perfect, seek perfection in all" etc However what Im realising is that some of the so called "laziest, most unproductive, most useless, purposeless, crazy, abnormal, normal" people can be called much greater "taoists" than all these people trying to get somewhere or become something. Words concepts

yin and yang cycle of progress and regress, showing your light talking about how great you are etc makes you very yang which requires a cycle of yin or destruction.. I think

I see what you mean man. Art is expression, free expression without any shoulds or shouldnts, even thats a rule. Personally I try to make art from a place of utmost peace or stillness or inspiration, although the idea that I want to change anyone or show someone something instead of focusing on myself seems a little egoic and anti creative. Like there is zen art, psychedelic art, chinese flute music etc. Anyways good luck with expressing yourself. Actually I think I was reading the other day how some zen schools purposely made it a point or cultivation to learn to TRULY express.. I dont know, im blabbering lol

The top one hundred earners were paid enough money last year to end poverty on this planet.......four times over!
skydog replied to flowing hands's topic in General Discussion
Not one for poverty or liking of it, but upon contemplation The idea of excess seems to be a concept, does excess exist in nature, it is part of nature right? Also I agree with protector to some degree, if a person is wise, then is it not a "good" idea for them to be wealthy too. getting into concepts again so yeh away i go
