  1. Buddha kept silent about God

I don't think divine message works like that. If a "divine" message could be butched and mutilated to be ineffective, it's not a divine message to start with. You seem to be a guru follower. Nothing wrong with that. In my personal experience, the "transmission" can come from unelightened person, even someone who's not in the sipiritual path. They are just medium of the divine message. Think about it, if God/Tao wants you to know or experience something, who could stop it?

Thanks for the detailed reply and advice. So virtue is the highest practice.
  3. Cold Water Therapy (Fascinating!)

I used to take regular cold shower in my college days, daily in the summer and weekly during winter for a few years. I usually jump into cold shower directly. Only the first few second was hard. After a while I actually felt pretty cozy. If I took it too long, I'd feel cold again. That's time for me to get out or before that happened. I always felt energized afterward. I swam once in the frozen lake during winter. It was awful. I shouldn't dip my head into the water because the assault from the wind. I felt my head was an ice cube. I may resume the ritual again, maybe starting this summer.
  4. Passive Aggressiveness On The Spiritual Path

H.E. What you described method sounds like west style psychoanalysis. To find fault in oneself in order to correct the "shortcoming". That inplies there is a set of standard that one should follow. Then who define these rule book of the stardand? If one starts picking fault on oneself, he may continue the trend to find fault on others. If one can accept oneself unconditionally, how can he accept others unconditionally. Your methond maybe good and valid. But I don't think it's inline with taoist approach. I'm trying to peel away the man made deceiption and stardand which are cloudy my true self. I don't want to add more expert opinion into the mix.

Thanks, deci belle, I guess I have to wait until my eye is more developed to appreciate your writing.
  6. What is the point

That's an interesting method to tell serious seekers apart from non-serious seekers. By the way, thanks for constant bringing up heart sutra. I've been reading it. I think I understand the first sentence. Back to topic. One's existence is enough contribution to this world, anything more is bonus.

deci belle, Is that true that your third eye has been open for a while and you can do heel breathing? Thanks.
  8. What is the point

I should have known better than engaging a mindless conversation. But I just couldn't resist the faulty logic anymore. If a caterpillar has no faith and kills himself, he can't become a butterfly. If a caterpillar has no fatih and thinks nothing he does matters, he doesn't store enough energy, he'd die in the cocoon. He can't become a butterfly. To be a beautiful butterfly, a caterpillar must have faith and try to be the best caterpillar as he can. Without caterpillarness, there is no butterfly. Why do you constantly repeating Jed McKenna? Because you believe him. That's called belief.
  9. I usually practice Qi Gong at night. A few days ago, I started turnig off the light and use candle. The difference is so dramatic. I kind of knew that natrual light is better for practice. I just didn't realize that big difference until I tried.
  10. Candle is better than electric bulb.

What did you mean by "micro-expression"? I saw the "other" face on people during my kundalini phase. Some people had "monster" face. and some had "angel" face. Was that the same thing you saw?
  11. Some Beginner Cultivation Tips

Thanks, Friend. It was that particular book revised my interest in throat friction. Yes. I too highly recommend Samuel Sagan's book, which contains tons of good information. I like his no nonsense approach. I think his focus on third eye method is inline with the taoist book the Secret of Golden Flower.
  12. Some Beginner Cultivation Tips

Throat Friction. Making vibrating noise (could be silent after practice) with your lower throat in exhale and inhale through nose. I read a few books that mentioned throat friction. I did give it some practice. It didn't seem to work for me. A few week back, I attempted the throat friction again. I couldn't believe it's so effective. If I can make the vibration correctly, I'm automatically in the correct posture: chin down and in, erect neck and hollow chest. I guess I had too many blockage on my throat and neck area before. The throat friction didn't work too well. The effort to make the vibrating was too distracting. Recently my cleaned most blockages. The throat friction helped to clean the rest. Some member here claimed that psoas was the first part to initiate inhale. I have my doubt. Th throat is the first major muscle group and chakra in the air path. The psoas was far down. And in some posture the psoas was hard to get engaged. I think throat chakra is the first part one should focus in the inhale.
  13. Difference between Qigong and Neigong?

Gary Clyman can call his double W "mansion" or "palace" if he likes. But it won't change the definition of "mansion".
  14. Difference between Qigong and Neigong?

They're direct translation from Chinese. It's not an opinion. There are clearly defined as "Nei" (inner) and "Wai" (outer). Since every one wants to be "in", nobody wants to be "out". I'm in the inner circle is a lot cooler than I'm an outsider. Nei" sounds secretive, mysterious and deep. Some Waigong system slap the lable "Nei" to boost its image.
  15. Difference between Qigong and Neigong?

Qigong is a general term, which includes Neigong (internal art) and Waigong (external art). However, since the Waigong is well known and demonstratable (break a stack of stones with your bare hand), whenever Qigong is mentioned, it's usually referred to Waigong. Most martial arts are Waigong. If you break a stack of stone with a lion roar (your sound), it's considered Neigong. Most of the alchemy stuff are Neigong. In simplistic view, the Waigong only cultivates the LDT and channels connecting external parts to the LDT. The Neigon trains all the internal organs. Of course, theare are over laps. And most Neigong practioners do a bit of Waigong. Some Waigong practioners don't anything about Neigong. Of course, there are systems that claim to be excellent in both.
  16. It's your life. It's your body. Do whatever you like. Life is an experiment and experience. Life is meant to be lived. You are the mater of your own universe. Your belief is your reality. Whoever said that tatoo is detrimental doesn't understand the basic rules. I might get a tatoo just for the heck of experience. I sometimes see a intricate red and blue pattern floating around. I haven't been abel to capture it yet. When I do, I'll tatoo it on me.
  17. I think the main difference is utilization of sexual energy (leave Tibetan buddhaism out. they're hybrid). Ultimately it's the mind that needs to be tamed. Buddhasm start from mind to purify the rest. It's the top down approach. Taoism start from the low physical level to train the mind at the end.
  18. Essence Over-Exchange

You're asking the wrong person. I'm a failure in relationship. From what I've read that people in relationship connect in three level: physical, emotional and spiritual. In theory, if physical sex is to exchange sexual energy to gain physical pleasure, then emotional sex is to exchange emotional energy to obtain emotional release and pleasure. I have no idea how to do it correctly. Most people don't know how either. You see lots of couple fight, then have fantastic sex. That's the only way they know how to exchange emotional energy. I don't suppose it's the only way.
  19. Extending Your Sitting Meditation Time

Why do we meditate? For me, I want to be happy in this life time. I want to have the benefit of meditation during my daily life. I think the moving meditation is easier to transit into my day job than "traditional meditation".
  20. Oscar Hsu

"My teacher could do this and that. There were hundreds of yogis who had rainbow body. I've seen this and that" I'm more interested in personal experiences than a bunch of theories.
  21. Extending Your Sitting Meditation Time

I don't have much experience with sitting meditation. I just started recently. I think I found something that it's not formally taught in the books that I read about meditation. I hope experienced practioners can confirm or correct my finding. The body is alive in the meditation, not a dead wood. Total stillness isn't frozen in place. If your whole body move in the same rythem, you're still in stillness. Bagua is a good example. So far, breath is the best corodinator. If every cell in your body resonates with your breath during meditation, you don't have a stiff joint afterwards, actually they feel softer afterward. So far, I find a little body motion help to settle in. up and down, in and out. When I inhale, my physical body sink down, my qi go up. I exhale, my phsical body bounce up, my qi go down. After a while, the body movement is so small, that it looks like not moving at all. Then I feel my whole body (I'm not sensitive enough to distinguish qi and physical body now) go outward during inhale. And go inward during exhale. My whole body is constant moving with my breath. In rare accassion, I don't feel the movement at all, and I don't feel feel my breath either. I agree with spotless. That teacher needs to be held up after sitting meditation shouldn't be teaching.
  22. Essence Over-Exchange

Then get a strap-on, do the role reversal thing. When you say "sex", what sex did you mean? genital centric sex? Have you tried whole body sex? Or intimacy? Or emotion sex? It's a natural progress at your stage. You can't stay on the same level forever. You either move forward or quit.
  23. Northern Star Meditation

I believe you. I got myself into trouble last time as well. I just focus on my celestial eye recently. Without the eye, I'm blind. A blind man is more likely to get himself into trouble. A baby opens his eyes before he can stand up. He just watch with his eyes. I think I'll do that this time. I'll just watch at beginning. Last time, I reacted. I tried to move my "legs" and "arms" which wasn't developed enough to support myself. I think that got me into trouble. This time, I'll behave like a baby, just watch.
  24. Northern Star Meditation

Yes, sun bath is easier. Then why star? The following is my understanding. For me, I need to gaze the star for a long time to get the golden ball. I suspect most of the energy come from myself. The star is just a visual aid to help steady the eye and mind. The ray of the star might help activate the "star" inside your head. So the "star" inside you resonate with the star to shine. Why run if you have car?
  25. Northern Star Meditation

It might be a lot easier if you have your third eye open or partially open. The the part " imagine this area of your head produces a Golden Fire" doesn't need "imagine" at all. You can actually "see" the golden light. The classic candle gazing really really works. Have you done any third eye activation meditation?
