If I am not my mind, body, or ego....What am I? I like saying that to myself....It gives me little glimpses of what I am.

Why man must give up Food and Sex in order to Evolve

You can master your mind and still feel atraction towards these things because they are natural. The observer will notice his attraction - and choose how to respond each and every moment. -
Why man must give up Food and Sex in order to Evolve

People don't have to give up food and sex to evolve. They just have to observe themselves. -
Question about BWE, isochronic tones, binaural beats, etc.
chi 2012 replied to forum_jedi's topic in General Discussion
I was into binaural beats for a few years before Qigong. Stay away from Centerpointe by Bill Harris. He makes milions from selling 12 levels - and the products aren't that great. A company called Immrama sells 1 cd for like 40 bucks - and is way more effective. They also sell a CD to use while studying and reading which is pretty good. For a while the meditation binurals can have an effect - but they soon lose their effectiveness. It's basically just training wheels for the real stuff - like Qigong and real meditation. Robert Monroe came out with this stuff originaly - to help people produce OBE's - which can help people with their growth. Then greedy people jumped in and decided that they could sell "enlightenment" buy offering these products. -
I think its good that a bunch of unenlightened people talk about this stuff. It helps get the word out. It serves a purpose. Everything happens for a reason.

Yeah Chuyni Lin is awesome. People can reach high levels just from his home courses....without ever having to go see him.

I get a "hyper" vibe from Gary Clyman and his students...Not saying that is bad....He just seems hyper.

Spring Forest Qigong level one is a complete system. Been using it for 11 years....Have never even felt the urge to buy the level 2....Although someday I will. I've also tried some of John Du Canes Qigong tapes. They're ok....More movements - but not as powerful in my opinion.

Finding something on your own after asking someone

Today at Target I needed to buy 4 items but couldn't find them. So I visualized the item - then starting walking. Each time I ran into an employee - and asked where the item was - and they showed me. It was awesome....I can manifest anything. -
Carol...Have you ever looked into Spring Forest Qigong? Master Chuyni Lin offers certification courses to teach. He teaches 4 levels. The first two levels you can at home from training courses.
-
I can't remember where I read it...But I read where Master Chuyni Lin said he knew of people who turned themselves into trees - to hide themselves during the Revolution in China.

The alternative for people who have a fetish with midgets. Or for when knee pads are not available.

Yeah - but the horse stance blows.

That sounds cool. So, you haven't eaten for 49 days? I think Qinway is the real deal. I came across her site about 10 years ago and used to check it periodically. Lots of people look about 10 years younger after training with her. I think she switched her focus from anti/aging and healing to enlightenment for the most part - if I'm not mistaken.

Would a Bodhisattva own a dog for protection?

Steaven Seagal keeps guns and dogs in his house - and he is a Buddhist. -

I know you can never figure out other people's karma - but when I read that - I kept thinking "What the heck did you do in this or another life to attract that?" -

If you live or are surrounded by potentially dangerous people - I would say yes definitely. I just ordered a book called "Spiritual Growth is not what you think" by Doyle Barnett. I was reading through some of the sample online book. He tells a story about his Buddhist friends who had their house burned down during the Santa Barbara fires. One of the things left after the fires was a big Buddha statue. Doyle told the people that their would be a lot of looting after the fires - and offered to store the statue for them at his place. The couple replied that they would rather leave the statue out - because it might "help protect the place". -
Man, Qigong and Zazen are so freaking different. Today when I sat small universe for 30 minutes my mind would not shut up - and I was angry the whole time - and having arguements with people in my head. My 20 minutes of zazen - my mind was just super quiet. This is an interesting experiment.

A couple years ago I tried some mantras from that guru on youtube - Dattatrea Siva Baba. Don't know if they worked or not....They might of.

You kind of look like The Sloth from the Goonies movie.

I went to one of those past life hypnotherapists once and had a regression. I sat in this chair and told the lady all this stuff that came to me about my past life. She told me how that life connected to this life. The thing is - I don't know if what I was telling her really happened - or whether I made it all up. It's probably a combination of the 2. I'm not really interested in past lives anymore. I think it was a phase I went through.

Do you go straight from sitting into Yigong? I actually read all of Jenny's site yesterday because I was trying to figure out what Kunlun was and I ended up on her site. I don't think I want to switch Qigong practices though. Chunyi Lin says to wait a half hour between different practices. I wonder if Zazen is an exception though - because it isn't really an energy practice. It would be cool to do everything all back to back.

I decided to separate from the military last year - after 14 years active duty and Guard. One of the reasons was I just couldn't relate to the mentality of some of the people anymore. Many of the people I worked with were basically Christian racists who try and hide and cover up their racism and anger with being patriotic.
-
What is Kunlun anyway? Why is it so secretive? I'll guess I'll just stick with Spring Forest Qigong. Chunyi Lin said that a lot of Qigong teachers in China try to keep Qigong hidden in secrecy for power reasons.
