Taking a couple of survival courses may ease your fears some. Please check out Tom Brown Jr's Tracker School at: http://www.trackerschool.com Please note they also offer classes for children. Important skills taught by really good people.

Checked my NJ notes for that Yoda and what I wrote down was "wave little finger to cure paralysis".

We'll then if you want to take matters into your own hands, which I totally agree with by the way, then how about...self-massage? It seems to have been of benefit to lots of folks here at Tao Bums....check out Trunk's journal in the personal practice section as well as his website and see how it feels to you...ya never know.

So, recently I had a dream and in it there was a wizened fellow in robes who was laughing at me. I couldn't understand just what was so funny...why was I the subject of such ridicule? The more upset I got about it the more he laughed... soon throwing his head back and forth, then clutching his belly, then adding a little dance with his legs, and then leaning against a wall only to slide down it... So okay the laugh was infectious...I started laughing too, most of the times I do feel pretty ridiculous what with some of the stuff that fills my head. So soon I join him on the floor, wiping tears of laughter from my eyes. And then he looks at me and his gaze is almost more than I can handle... Gloria he says, "You're trying too hard. There's nowhere to go and there's nothing to do, let all good things come to you." And then, "You've got time". So in regards to standing while practicing Kunlun. Imagine head, arms, hands, torso, legs, feet all moving at the same time. It didn't start off that way it progressed...the intensity of it progressed into more than my mind and body could handle, leaving me feeling nauseous and dizzy and dealing with too much energy to later ground, which is not to say that this would happen to any of you. It's just I have found that sitting is much more pleasant, more comfortable...a nicer ride in the long run. But by all means do as you feel is best for you. While what I experienced wasn't always pleasant it did serve as a good lesson about choice...how do you want to experience the passing scenery?

Hi, Have you tried acupuncture with massage? It's worked for me. Went for hour long sessions initially every week, then that tapered to twice a month and now I go once a month for maintenance and general feeling of wellbeing. Consider doing a search online for more info re the benefits of acupuncture for back pain. Good Stuff. Gloria

I was wondering if you had ever heard of Tom Brown Jr. and his tracker school? He teaches wilderness survival skills to adults and children. The teachings focus on survival but also on how to be caretakers of the earth. Tom learned his skills from a native american shaman so the teachings also communicate a great reverence and respect for the earth as well as every living thing. If you've never heard of him please follow the link for more information. http://www.trackerschool.com You are a good person to want to do something like this... I hope you find the right folks to look after your land... who will leave it all a little better than they found it. Peace to you and those who love you. mgd

You know...wouldn't this be a nice way for more bums to get to know each other? We could do a little camping... roll up our sleeves and do a little caretaking... and Scotty could bring his guitar and sing for us as we sit around the campfire. I'd make the trek. Welcome to The Tao Bums John! Gloria

Sounds lovely. Would there by any chance be fish in that river? I know of a couple of folks that would enjoy sitting by the water, and be even more content to catch nothing.
