  3. I read somewhere in the Western esoteric tradition, if you cross over and the personality takes the emptiness/void as an object it has obtained, you fall and become a black brother. Instead of realizing that the emptiness/void is actually the true you that has no boundaries or center.

    These thoughts are yours. Once you take responsibility for them, you will have the ability to gain power over them. You start to gain power over the thoughts, when you stop believing them. Fighting these thoughts with more thoughts is not the way. Surrendering to the thoughts and knowing they're false is. -in my experience

    The sound didn't happen to me all the time. Sometimes there were pops, mostly not. At the start, in a 30 minute meditation session, I would hear around 1 to 2 pops. Depending on how deep I went, there was also a rushing of wind in the ears. I had no control over these phenomena, it seemed to me they're just a bi product of meditation.

    During meditation I have heard clicking/popping/cracking sounds coming from the inside of my head. It is extremely similar to the sound when a chiropractor does an adjustment on your neck. I have not heard these sounds for quite awhile and was more prevalent when I first started meditation. My question is, are you sure the sounds are coming outside of you? I can tell, mine were originating inside my body.

    Thank you very much Gerard. 'Everything', I am having trouble with this area also. It is exactly where you say, in the Matrix movie where the the cords go in. Deep meditation on emptiness brings on the nerve like pain. This is coupled with the sensation of the breath from the nose becoming cold and pure. This has been going on for some months however, the pain seems to have worked its way out. I have found the Jalandhara Bandha yogic throat lock to be helpful.
