From what I have read, looking into a mirror during meditation can trigger an out of body experience. I have no experience to back this claim up.

If the spirit escapes out of the top of the head and fails to return, will the body die?

Willfully killing yourself with Phowa technique

No problem, the question was raised in my mind due to reading about it in a book. I understand it is meant to be done at death, but if someone managed to do this well before death due to experimentation, could it kill the body? -
Thank you I will search for the thread. At around the 18hr mark I got very bad headaches. 7 days seems ok, but I don't want it to impact on my work. Maybe good for when I take leave and don't have any commitments.

Mainstream Media Corruption Exposed

The media is there to influence peoples opinions and beliefs. Also used to influence economic markets and skew trends in favor of the powers that be. -
Really? I don't believe it. Maybe if you don't agree with their paradigm, they cease to have any special powers over you.
-
If I have time later I will transcribe the passages from the book. Sorry for the distraction. Thank you for all your input.

I am currently reading the book 'Working Toward Enlightenment' by Master Nan Huai-Chin. What worries me is when he talks about moving past the skandha of form, when the moving mind comes to a stop.

Very interesting, thank you so much! -
Are babies born with their energy channels open? Could it be that small children who say they have imaginary friends are actually really clairvoyant, and as they age they lose their ability? Are we all naturally psychic to some extent? I am wondering what is the Taoist point of view?

I have a habit of spending money on numerous books about spiritual topics. Anyone else seem to follow along these lines? I just bought two out of print books for quite a lot of money. Seemed like it was the thing to do so I did it.

"Clarity has mentioned that it is one step better to not judge or condemn people at all, however I might be ignorant but this seems to be too far of a step." Because any judging is reinforcing the duality that something is better or worse than something else. Good and bad - desire for that which is good and aversion, avoid that which is bad, is one of the roots of suffering.

Hi, I'm a christian and my Kundalini is awakening. Please Help :)

Be wary of falling into the dark side. Before you know it, it will be too late. Cultivate compassion. -
While it is true in some sense, some of the books have been greatly beneficial to me. Philosophy has its use, pointing to dark areas of the mind that need the light of awareness to be illuminated. My practice is mostly mind only, gravitating towards Mahamudra.

Haha the 2nd hand copies I bought came to $168 including postage.

A life changing book for me was Eckhart Tolles Power of Now. Recommended by a work friend who was into Merkaba meditation and the tree of life. It was the book that taught me to look inwards.

I have a hard time reading books electronically on my screen. I seem to favor paperbooks although an Amazon Kindle would probably be nice.
