Funny, I just saw this thread, and I had ordered the book around 7 days ago.

Doesn't the imagination just create delusion though? Imaginary, as in mirage like and not inherently real?

I don't know. I have not tried to open anything. When I had tried to open things I have fallen sick. So now I concentrate on mind only meditation. One thing I noticed is working with the mind, when different levels are hit, the body reacts in different ways. But maybe I just slept on my neck the wrong way.

In my experience when suffering has burnt you up completely, surrender comes naturally. When it is seen that all that you fight for, is responsible for your suffering, you give it up. Then the only thing you end up fighting for is nothing. When you fight for nothing, you surrender to everything.

It could be suggested that the desire/effort to help other people alleviate their suffering is important as it is selfless. Selfless effort is different from effort directed for ones benefit. In my experience the selfless effort protects the mind from undesirable influences. Going for refuge mantra (mind protection).

Yes, Yoga neck exercises seem to help a lot. Before this I had pain sensations in both left and right shoulder blades, with the left one triggering first. Its interesting to note that the Atlas bone is the 33rd bone of the spine and holds up the skull (heavens)

I'm just wondering if this has any correlation with the void united with compassion and the void without, and hatching the positive immortal fetus and hatching the negative immortal fetus.

If I understand this rightly, it is that light before it has been objectified and attributed a label by the mind through thought projection. Does anyone have any experience with uniting the void with compassion? Do the buddhists call this, uniting emptiness and wisdom?
