Similarities of practices between Sufism & Gnostic Christianity
gatito replied to Jeff's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Could this thread be moved to Hermetic and Occult please, as Gnostic Christianity and Sufism both fulfil the criteria of being Esoteric (Occult). -

Firefox 17.0 To delete cookies: - options/privacy/show cookies then select and delete taobums cookies It's intermittent so if no-one else is having a problem, I wouldn't waste your time on it. For me, it's just inconvenient rather than a problem but if it affects others and they're using someone else's PC etc. it could compromise their account here. I can try a laptop and an iPad if you like but as it's intermittent, even on this PC, I might not pick it up.

@ WWROA As discussed above; my comments after having watched the "video". http://thetaobums.co..._16#entry375500 http://thetaobums.co...ficially-begun/ and finally the full antidote: - http://thetaobums.co...of-mindfulness/

I've got some work to do now. If you post the link to the specific video, I'll be happy to comment later today.

No. As I said, Please provide a link (http) if you want to quote me out-of-context in future. For the third time: "Thank you to turtle shell" I can't be bothered to watch it or to post/read this thread - the only reason I'm here is because of your imprecisely-referenced, out-of-context, misleading quote. Is that clear enough?
-
@ WWROA You have taken a quote from another thread (therefore the quote is out of context) and you have placed upon it your own interpretations. Kindly provide a link to the original post if you intend to quote me in future. (Again, thank you to turtle shell)

I'm getting notifications again Thanks for the fix Sean. (But I'm still having to delete the cookie to logout.)

Thanks for standing up for me! Just for the record, I'm very much against "black magic" and "satanism". @ WWROA: - This was the thread from which you extracted my quote (a discussion about setting up a Hermetic Sub-forum):- ://thetaobums.com/topic/25452-hermetic-discussion-subforum/page__st__64#entry375365 Please don't quote me out of context again. Thanks.

I often can't sign-out either - have to close browser or delete cookies

Thanks - it's appreciated. I'm really looking forward to watching the full movie now - I don't know how I've missed it before - it looks like a classic.

Cynicism is often an attempt to disguise pain or despair as sophistication

More Moby

@ idiot_stimpy Thanks for posting this clip - it's spot-on! It also reminded me of the cave scene in The Empire Strikes Back when Luke meets himself as Darth Vader. I've never seen Little Buddha and it's now on my "to do" list thanks to you. Is the rest if the film up to this standard?

Moby - Porcelain Edit: Swapped the video for this (much better) video, which I've just come across

Which Buddhist schools did Shankara disagree with in the Brahma Sutras & why?
gatito replied to stefos's topic in General Discussion
So you've come the Vedanta forum to discuss Christanity and Buddhism? LOL! -
You need to cauterise the stump...........apparently........
-
No. It's beyond salvation.
-
I'm not getting email notifications either
-
Perhaps this will work for the verbal type?

No Stosh. I'm certainly not responsible for your actions. And as for your ostensible interest, you need to reread what you said above : - Let me repeat myself:- "Had I realised that was the case, then I wouldn't have bothered to respond to you Stosh; as you would clearly have been wasting both your time and my time here." Hope you're 100% clear now.
-
As you say, you were "originally" asking about the subject matter but you also say that it was only a "momentary interest" and that your "momentary interest" has "dropped considerably now". Had I realised that was the case, then I wouldn't have bothered to respond to you Stosh; as you would clearly have been wasting both your time and my time here. So, thank you for what seems to be your agreement to socialise and/or to discuss your personal issues somewhere other than the Vedanta forum. If you ever develop a serious interest, then I'm sure that others would be happy to help you further.
