Hello to the straw man. I didn't assert that Tibetan "Buddhists" are/were "less serious".
-
Which is actually a fairly toxic mixture of black magic and mysticism, which has little, if anything, to do with de facto Buddhism.
-
Perhaps you've misunderstood the reality of the feudal, abusive, misogynistic, child-snatching residue of some of the Buddha's ostensible legacy? I was extremely surprised myself but luckily the membership here certainly educated me well. For example (in addition to the above): http://www.michaelparenti.org/Tibet.html https://dharmawheel.net/

Now, that's really funny!!! Start here: That was a pinned topic in the Buddhist Forum here until the incumbent (Pseudo)Buddhists successfully lobbied the previous (incompetent) admin to get it unpinned.

Taoists tend to be less argumentative.
-
Furthermore, bear in mind that spontaneous awakenings are far from unusual.
-
You will need to locate one (and thankfully, only one) of the hundreds of effective methods and practice it for a period of 6-24 months (diligently).
-
So, you're asking if there is a method (are methods) to verify for yourself directly the Truth about God/Tao/Brahman/etc.? If so, the answer is that many methods exist.
-
That's not the "strange position". The "strange position" is that you stated that: However, your assertion/belief doesn't actually exclude the possibility that others may have access to a verification method (or methods).
-
That's an extremely strange position, albeit extremely common. Do you have any "way whatsoever to verify if their claims about their gods are" untrue? If not, the only sane position to hold is neither theism or atheism but agnosticism (unless/until you find a method that yields a definitive answer to this conundrum).

Bottom line: Most of the shit schools are online. Many of the outstanding schools aren't online - they're solely word-of-mouth, as they've been for millennia (before the internet popped-up a few years ago). The Truth's always available to everyone directly. You are your own final arbiter.

Take, assess, test and use that which works for you. Refine it. Discard the dross. Remember: there's nothing new under the Sun.

The fundamental problem in assessing WTF's going on with WuFlu is that there's zero overall consistent, reliable: testing and post mortem assessment and therefore reporting/statistics

Hope you both managed to hold your breath during the procedure...

Sweden is interesting, because it's acting as a control group. Personally, I'd lock it down if I was their PM because social distancing certainly both protects the individual and flattens the group's curve (so that its health services aren't as likely to be overwhelmed). Conversely, the way that Sweden is handling it mitigates the panic that can be seen almost everywhere else.

Maybe a different practice would help?
