  1. Fasting

    thanks too Chris
  2. Fasting

Thanks for the info Gerard - very interesting stuff What is a Chinese based diet? do you practice bigu?
  3. Fasting

^ How have you found maintaining physicality?
  4. Men and desire for power

Perfect example Turtle Shell! Let as aim for the best expressions of both genders and aspire to that...
  5. Men and desire for power

lion? gorilla? stag? ... and so on nature is rather clear when it comes to warm blooded animals... perhaps Glen Morris has a hormonal imbalance
  6. What is the difference?

Japa kusuma-sankarsham kashyapeyam maha-dyutim tamo-rim sarva-papa-ghnam pranato ' smi divakaram When translated in English, it means: "Let us chant the glories of the Sun God, whose beauty rivals that of a flower. I bow down to him, the greatly effulgent son of Kashyapa, who is the enemy of darkness and destroyer of all sins." Compared to Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. /// For those in the west... are we chasing our tails? Buddhism teaches compassion... Christianity says... love they neighbor Just as blood nourishes the heart which keeps it flowing, so love nourishes spiritual freedom and is, in turn, kept flowing by it. The connection is so strong that Buddhism, often known as a Path of Freedom, could equally be called a religion of love. Perhaps this is what he had in mind when the Dalai Lama said his religion is kindness. For the Buddha, love is one of the paths to full spiritual liberation. Gil Fronsdal http://www.insightme...chings-on-love/ Love Conquers All - Omnia Vincit Amor (Latin phrase from Eclogue X by Virgil) ... What is the difference? Is it not like looking for something you think you have lost... until you realize it was in your hand the entire time?
  7. Poverty is a concept

Good points... though I would say we would be doing those who are actually living in poverty a disrespect to say ... it is just a concept. rich in material poor in mind... maybe both rich in material and in mind maybe some poor materially are rich in mind.... or poor materially and poor in mind... to reject the idea of abundance altogether is dangerous ... I am the king of nothing, I am the king of the world the Earth is a treasure indeed... Why can't we all be rich in material and mind though? why must we constantly compromise? ah well if you want to be spiritual and loving... you have to be poor if you are rich you have to be poor in spirit.... all these rudimentary and vastly limiting stereotypes. ^ I think this is a poor mind set... that leads to perpetual poverty. I want to see a world in accordance with the nature... where everyone is rich both in material and in mind... ... perhaps I am a Utopian... haha perhaps another 300 odd years and we will see such ... I will see the day. The more wealth I acquire the more wealth I can share + help others to become wealthy (again at both levels) if one lacks in either there is going to be an imbalance I think... or at the least... a missed opportunity to excel / to go beyond / evolve... materially + mentally + spiritual etc. I am not talking ridiculous wealth materially either (million dollar watches...nonsense)... modest... comfortable, secure, access to good food, pure water, air and a decent education ... for all //// which I think we totally have the ability to achieve...yesterday. others may go beyond that etc to help humanity forward
  8. On the edge

have you tried being completely disinterested in all of their actions/ attempts? this kind of attitude haha
  9. Peace, love and joy

    Maybe a friendly hug?
  10. On the edge

May the spirit of the Tiger be with you! Trust your instincts... ...it is really impossible for us to say... not knowing your exact situation. I wouldn't recommend police etc at this point (all depending on your own perception/understanding regarding the nature of these people)... sometimes these are defining moments in your life - you have to work it out for yourself + you may surprise yourself remember to keep slow and steady breathing
  11. What is the difference?

yes it is I think we should make great effort from this point on to say what we mean and mean what we say
  12. ...

I don't understand why they would be mocking you... maybe playful? If not... why bother talking to condescending shrubbery Maybe it is similar to the Zen master throwing stones at his students? or throwing them out of windows etc? ha
  13. Quite an elaborate way to say nothing at all Consider too Lao Tzu ...the Tao that can be spoken of is not the Tao... yet all he does is speak of it? haha + if he was so resigned to the Way... why did he leave? As you say better/ worse there is no difference... if your gov, country, people etc... descend into corruption, war, famine etc - one should be content and let and be. In terms of intelligence and being dull - isn't he purported to have out thought Confucius on every occassion?
  14. In terms of better... + home ( I am unsure if GM was referring to my use of the term better?) I mean a return to western philosophy and mysticism conducive to my own mind / culture etc (in my own quest)
  15. What is the difference?

Hm true Sinfest 2: Judgement Day regarding the Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. I suppose I was looking at.... is the grass really greener on the other side?
  16. Fasting

Perhaps a warm bath or shower? I also found similar regarding sex drive - a state of contentment / perhaps even transcendence In my own practice I felt sitting in the sun to be a great way to boost energy while fasting. Drinking purified water when thirty will help remove the toxins. When an animal is sick they generally don't eat or move until they are well again? Each to their own - It goes without saying people should do further research before making an attempt. What I posted was just an introduction with excerpts from numerous sites for inspiration
  17. One Nostril Is Always Blocked

Stop eating dairy + gluten for a time - will be diet related somehow ... mucous build up ... one blocked isn't natural or regular imo mine are both clear constantly
  18. you have all these western folk thinking for years... I have to Drift on the ocean and be blown about endlessly and I will attain Tao... and other such things... I myself became very confused by it all... trying to work it out on my own I think it is time to return home
  19. Taomeow Hmm Really such texts should never have been given to the uninitiated what a minefield of confusion... there has to be a better way...
  20. What is the difference?

I suppose love conquers all could be seen in another light too... As in ones love for something may give one the will/ energy to overcome obstacle As in say soldier being motivated to live so as to return to his family / loved ones or to protect them... so all depending it could be viewed universally or... other Love conquers all...isn't really going to help that fish just plucked out of the water by an eagle. No matter how hard the fish tries to love the eagle...it is still going to be lunch. So really the fish is being foolish hating your enemies would be equally so
  21. What is the difference?

It can be a bit of a paradox at times... hahaha + the love thy enemy... I think both systems have elements of sadomasochism I would say defend yourself... I really don't understand the logic behind most of these modern faiths. Here is another similarity Buddhism collect alms so does X Both are paying for ones sins/merit Both feed off the general population to survive (using fear as motivation) A version of Taoism appears to be the same... The old way... seemed much more self reliant / rebellious
  22. I think you may have confused apathy with despair. Apathy (also called impassivity or perfunctoriness) is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation and passion. - wiki ^ that sounds quite familiar...(in particular buddhism) side note: the circle ascribed to Zen is very fitting considering such thinking gets one nowhere
  23. ...

Do tell I found the link very nice also
  24. Fasting

Diet Origin: 1175–1225; (noun) Middle English diete < Anglo-French, Old French < Latin diaeta < Greek díaita way of living, diet, equivalent to dia- dia- + -aita (akin to aîsa share, lot); (v.) Middle English dieten (transitive) < Anglo-French, Old French dieter, derivative of Greek diaita mode of living, from diaitan to direct one's own life /// The Wheel of Opus is a spin to reclaim the knowing of the dietary path to deity (enlightenment). The entire premise of diet is that the body is literally the temple –it’s inner workings is the kingdom of good and that the organs (offices) are the organization of the church, the administration of the kingdom’s workings within the temple of good. You being the householder, the lord of the house, determine the condition of the structure. Every offering, tithe or sacrament made upon the principles of life or death, depending on the qualities and quantities offered. http://www.dontolmaninternational.com/articles/The-Real-Meaning-of-Diet.html
  25. Fasting

Awesome Yes, I am amazed by the state of mind achieved - I was getting a lot of energy around the 3rd eye area also without any effort ... I wonder what this is? I tried to make the energy whole within my entire body I agree with thelerner too and Raimonio thank you I am excited about the prospects of continuing this practice and learning to balance it so as to function better physically with the add mental boost + clarity. I think the path of transcendence may be a lot easier on a much lighter diet Peace
