Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?
eye_of_the_storm replied to RiverSnake's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
this... "psychological anarchy[...] The aim is to produce inspiration and enlightenment through disordering our belief structures." This is how I would describe... more or less the result of my studies into the world of conspiracy / darkness, deceit / manipulation... So much conflict allows little to grasp at anymore... so it is freeing in a sense. -
Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?

Although there are a few techniques unique to chaos magic (such as some forms of sigil magic), chaos magic is often highly individualistic and borrows liberally from other belief systems, due to chaos magic having a central belief that belief is a tool. Some common sources of inspiration include such diverse areas as science fiction, scientific theories, traditional ceremonial magic, neoshamanism, Eastern philosophy, world religions, and individual experimentation. Despite tremendous individual variation, chaos magicians (sometimes called "chaotes"[2]) often work with chaotic and humorous paradigms, such as the worship of Hundun from Taoism or Eris from Discordianism. Some chaos magicians also use psychedelic drugs in practices such as chemognosticism.[3] Chaos magicians are often seen by other occultists as dangerous or worrisome revolutionaries.[2] Chaos came to be part of this movement defined as "the 'thing' responsible for the origin and continued action of events[...]. It could as well be called God or Tao, but the name Chaos is virtually meaningless and free from the anthropomorphic ideas of religion."[6] The Symbol of Chaos used to signify it was apparently, but not explicitly, lifted from the fantasy novels of Michael Moorcock. Carroll wrote that the chaotic aspect of this magic aims for "psychological anarchy[...] The aim is to produce inspiration and enlightenment through disordering our belief structures." wiki -
Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?

I did practice fire gazing + a breathing exercise.... keeping the mind on the point between inhale (space) exhale (space) inhale (space) etc + Physical exercise Though... for some time now I have been caught up in the world of conspiracy / darkness, deceit / manipulation etc Which has helped to expand my mind... but makes my heart heavy Looking for more positive growth for both mind and heart / hence my being here I endeavor to begin the above practices again soon as the results were good. hmm I also use runes + attempting dream yoga / lucid dreaming... intent/ will, imagination -

That is a good point ahahha Though...maybe it would be like somebody asking another how to fly a fighter jet ... and somebody says... just DO it I am just trying to get a feel to see if I want to DO it or not DO it From the so called 'Occult' I have read so far... not so inspiring For something that is suppose to be hidden...it is all over the internet haha + in its time published/ given to the public... which leads me to believe for the most part its all nonsense / disinformation. Considering great effort was afforded by the PTB to destroy all real knowledge + mystery schools etc... + persons of that knowledge When I see Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data... within the first few pages... for some reason I am concerned I would also like to address experiences people have that corresponded to their belief system... If you believe in Jesus you will see Jesus If you believe in Buddha you will see Buddha If you believe in Krishna you will see Krishna What I am getting at...probably poorly... are these things delusional? + the giving away or ones own sovereignty / divinity by worshiping or exchanging with other entities/ beings. (minus exchange between earth folk) If ones experience is a reflection of ones beliefs... why the need for all these obstacles -

In Greek religion and mythology, Pan (Ancient Greek: Πᾶν, Pān) is the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music, and companion of the nymphs.[1] His name originates within the Ancient Greek language, from the word paein (πάειν), meaning "to pasture."[2] He has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat, in the same manner as a faun or satyr. With his homeland in rustic Arcadia, he is recognized as the god of fields, groves, and wooded glens; because of this, Pan is connected to fertility and the season of spring. The ancient Greeks also considered Pan to be the god of theatrical criticism.[3] WIKI Is this Pan being a collective thought form or a sovereign? What is the benefit of contacting such as being? Is it similar to the use on entheogens and connecting with the spirit of a plant to acquire self knowledge etc? As in the OP how does this compare to self inquiry / meditation and cultivation? Would Pan be able to introduce me to some nice nymph? What benefits would or wouldn't this bestow? I remember ... sorry Bardon again... discussing an apprentice / friend of his making the mistake of marrying a mermaid(though was advised against it) ? What type of exchange do these beings usually require for their services? Is such a thing giving away ones own power to manifest? -

May I ask...anyone... what is the difference between the dream state and this reality? In the dream state I can bend elements as depicted in the avatar series and the like. One I remember vividly was bending water - psychokinesis. Another I was able to harness electrical energy (element?) though this emanated from myself which I directed through my hands. All this seemed quite natural... like breathing. -
With the substitutes mentioned... What is the purpose of making exchange with these beings? Is this purely for material gain? or...

If you wish to consciously astral project.... Body asleep, mind awake. You should relax the body to the point of detachment... no sense of it This happens of its own through one pointed concentration... breathing exercise for myself.... keeping the mind on the point between inhale (space) exhale (space) inhale (space) etc... until this space opens and is constant. Ah I would also set the intention that with every breath my body would relax 10 fold every time The breathing then appears to be separate from your awareness... as is your body and you are pure awareness... observing these things The body may feel at one point very heavy ... maybe feeling of buzzing / vibrations through the body This is as far as I got... my experience correspond with what others have said is the initial stages of an OBE I only really gave it a good shot a few times... will / intent to push through seems important The experience was new for me and my excitement at the prospects once I had reached that somewhat detachment broke my concentration with practice I am sure this could be overcome. I dropped the practice as I become tangled in worldly things / distraction and lacked the will or proper emotional state to further develop this. Best of luck. If more senior member could address this that would be good Novice dabbler 23 Ah once awareness...move your awareness to something... / move with imagination - apparently

I most totally agree with this statement Karma is pretty similar to the concept of Sin... and Hell fire Brilliant control method eg; Catholic church... Thou shalt not kill... and look at history... blood bath/ genocide While the slaves repented for their sins a heavy axe was coming down to take their head Love and money has absolutely nothing to do with karma.... good deeds / cultivating merit and all that other nonsense The proof is all around... People profit from others suffering and insecurities constantly... bad people love things just as much as good people love things the world is a vampire, sent to drain secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames and what do i get, for my pain betrayed desires, and a piece of the game even though i know-i suppose i'll show all my cool and cold-like old job / thanks smashing pumpkins Our expectations are unrealistic and not in harmony with nature The current system is one giant pyramid scheme A few break through but generally at the expense of others or by heavily compromising ones own beliefs. I don't believe in Karma though I continue to do the best I can ... other than basic cause reaction stuff but that doesn't mean anything... If I do a good deed someone may reciprocate directly... basic stuff.... I don't believe there is some mystical cosmic balance sheet... mutual benefit A lot of negative things seem to go...without justice and have for a long time... I agree with - He who is content is rich A magnificent treasure I behold The Sun... trees...flowers, birds... the divine air I breathe - what glory Which slightly contradicts the above... though I think there are worlds within worlds I'll add... He who is poor is only poor in mind - WWROA 2012 hahah They be quoting that 2000 years from now! If I believed in anything it would be this...

I thought Yin and Yang = mutual arising interdependence / intertwined... even in the symbol the yin is within the yang and the yang within the yin... how to fuse that which is already inseparable -

hmm Well I would like to become the fullness of my total experience and knowing thus far and move/ develop from that... as in the say 10'000 lives I may have lived or am living simultaneously into 1 as opposed to this cycle of forgetfulness... though something must accumulate otherwise nothing would progress... so the unconscious yin must in a subtle way drive/compel the conscious mind or yang? I am not sure about making the me here now immortal... I'm not even sure there is a me here now...solid... you can never step into the same river twice kind of thing... I want to remember where I came from -

Hm thanks for your responses You say we forget...that yang identity of this lifetime is lost... though wouldnt the yin body remember the yang body? having observered it entirely.... so it would be impossible to lose... we just forget momentarily? What is it that remembers past lives from this yang perspective? Why isnt observation considered active? to observe is an active thing... which would be a yang attribute... to observe is to see... to see is to react/respond... you say passive observation, is there such a thing... one can choose how one sees? Then why not a passive Will? Yin = unconscious mind? Yang = conscious mind? left right brain? unified at the Or heart and mind... hmm you talk of extracting enough yin and yang energies? what is this process? Does not insight, wisdom / meditation / contemplation - knowledge /awareness lead to anything? Yang or Yin become aware of each other... and become... ? what is this fusion called? What is desire? where does it come from? What was the First Desire? First Cause... the causeless cause? Is it even I who desires? I think that it is I... but maybe not...at this level anyway Like The Universe, The All, The Great Tao is flowing through me...but I am THAT so it is and isnt "me" haha hmm
