Was it Kim Jong Il & his son doing that Gangnam Style, dance video ? Darn, I'd have liked to see that.

The Compassionate Daoist vs. the Compassionate buddhist
Basher replied to Cheshire Cat's topic in Daoist Discussion
Totally Agree, nice one DRT. Also, luckily, whenever I fall on my Face it makes me even more Handsome. (LOL) Again, I think Marblehead has hit the nail on the head, here. Absolutely. I'm staying right away from that one...LOL Nice post Steve. -
Nice / Poignient story, WWROA. Is there a link to the Article ? Do you think the Animal was picking up on the Human thoughts / emotions somehow ? Guess it's a lot easier to eat your Beef Burgers, if you don't actually think about how they're made & where they come from.

Agree with Celestial on this. How is my wanting to select the threads / topics that interest me, affecting anyone else's Freedom of expression ? Or do we all Have to read each and every thread ?

Don't know Flo, it just felt right at the time (or it could have been a mistake, or grammatical error). Wasn't sure if I should mention 30 mins, in case it changes. "Basher"

IF....the "new" Editing Policy stays in place, I believe that it would only be fair & proper to draw peoples attention to it.

Awwwww shucks... Yeah, right ! Just don't tell Marblehead, he'll get jealous. LOL Now behave.

Will also be useful for Boiling Eggs Gatito : I've always understood "trust" to be a two way street ? But (I think) I know what you mean.

Hello quirmche (hope I've spelt that correctly) and welcome. Before posting elsewhere, please take the time & trouble to read the two posts pinned at the top of the Lobby and also take a look at the Forum Terms / Rules http://thetaobums.co...um-terms-rules/ We're (usually) pretty easy going here at the Tao Bums, but there are one or two things to be aware of, before you move onto the other forums. Best wishes, Basher Edit: To delete "shadows"

LOL. Didn't know that MH. Wasn't the "General Belgrano" one of the ex US Navy Ships from WWII (Pearl Harbour) ?

Successive UK Governments have down-sized the Military budget*** so much, and wasted so much money on redundant or unsuitable kit, that we're no longer able to defend the Isle of Wight, let alone the rest of the UK. Result being that we're also no longer able to wade in "Gung-Ho" to Police the rest of the world (or the British Empire as we used to call it). Bit depressing that the UK cannot now start & win a War.... unless we pick on someplace like Iceland If the Tribesmen in the Amazon basin have better weapons than you, it's time to give Peace a chance. *** Obviously the Politicians "expenses" must be paid for somehow. (PS: All of the above should be read after inserting your tongue in your cheek. NO, Your cheek I said )

NSA = Nefarious Source Association ? Question: If at the very beginning we knew, for a fact, about Hitlers persecution of the Jews. Would we all have stood back & just watched it happen ? War/Military Intervention should always be the very last option. As historically, too many innocents get caught up amongst all the death & destruction. The Syrian Rebels appear to want / need Food, Water, Clothing & a safe Shelter. According to the UN Inspectors, it's now been proved that only the Syrian Regime could have launched the attack. Threats & Intimidation haven't worked on Assad, he's called the Americans Bluff. He isn't interested in any sort of Diplomatic solution. And has made it quite clear that his forces will take revenge against any country that interferes with his internal dispute. So what options are left ? Stay out of it & let the Regime destroy all those in its path. Or do a targeted strike at the Chemical Works / army Barracks & wait for their counter-strikes ? There is no Easy option.

Nothing is Perfect. But this whole "Limiting Edits" Thing, seems to have stirred up a lot of STRONG Emotions. At first I didn't think it was that big a deal & I believe that the Mods "intent" was for the greater good / clarity in reading the threads. As sometimes, a thread is like reading a book, with a few pages missing. But I can appreciate that some members here, do not want all of their posts set in stone for all eternity. Perhaps any proposed changes could / should, in future, be voted on before being implemented (if voted for). Just a thought...

Agree it would be an enormous benefit, not to be deluged / inundated with the various threads about things of no importance or interest to me. A "Hide this Thread" option would be tremendous. No more Rants / Vents or "Adverts" for a particular style / school of Qi Gong, etc etc. Basher

If they are a really close / trustworthy friend and they think that you're a bit shy, they might be trying to force your hand & get you to "Act" and ask her out for a drink, meal, etc yourself. Alternatively, they might also like her and might think that you'll never ask that girl out anyway. But there are plenty of people who flirt with just about everybody they meet. Now that might be because they think they're fantastic, or they have a HUGE....ego. It could even mean that THEY are a bit insecure themselves. But a crush doesn't really entitle you to any sense of ownership iro somebody else, does it ? A relationship is all about putting the other person first, in order to enjoy a "real" life together. Wishing / Hoping and having crushes doesn't IME get you very far in the Romance / Relationship department. I'm an ugly Old Fart, but I've had several good/great relationships in my lifetime. So there's hope for everyone. My advice (for what it's worth) is to casually go up & talk to her. Don't try to chat her up, or give her some corny old line you read in a dating book someplace, or act like a crazed stalker and follow her about. Just look into her eyes and talk to her casually, like it's no big deal and that you talk to girls like her all the time. Find out her likes / dislikes, hobbies...etc. and take it from there. If it works out....Great !!! But if she wants to just be friends, accept that. If she's not interested, you have to accept that too & move on. Sometimes these things happen when you least expect it ! (Or even better, do what Flo said) Edit: What Flo said

1: Good. 2: Agree Live/Vital stuff can still be of interest, after the fact. I've learnt a lot of things from mouldy old coweb covered posts, from years back. Should we not have ANY rules / guidelines and let everybody have complete freedom ? I'm thinking of those instances when somebody insults / slanders another, in a thread. Then deletes it, so that nobody else can see it. It's easier to use the PM function, if you are only responding to one person. Edit: PM function added.

Deci, some of your Napkin posts, seem to have taken up an entire Tablecloth. (That's NOT a criticism, btw) I agree with you that it's easy to overlook typo's etc when you're "in the zone" and trying to put a thought down correctly. But there are far too many "Blank" or deleted posts in threads, which make the "still visible" responses, not make sense. Not sure if I agree with the 30 minute cut-off, but suppose we'll just have to see how it goes.

Shouldn't we have a Sexual / Gynocological Forum ? Stimulating reading for open minded adults, who wish to progress in health and relationships.

Welcome to the Tao Bums, aerobrac69. Please take the time to look at the two pinned posts at the top of the Lobby and the Forum Rules here: http://thetaobums.com/topic/19575-forum-terms-rules/ before posting elsewhere in the Forums. We are pretty laid back / easy going here, but there are certain guidelines which should be followed. To mazimise everyone's use of the site. The Lobby, for instance, is for general introductions & to let us get to know each other. If you'd like to share anything specific, practise wise, please take a look at the other areas of the Forums. Basher Edit: To add details & correct link
