  1. Quck question - shoes

I'm just sitting here in my Office in Guildford, looking out over the Cathedral & University..... Whilst I don't claim to have read every one of the 297 pages of that report, Page 177 seems to be the key. But the answer to the question "Does Flouride have any effect on Human development ?" appears to be Maybe, but we need to do more studies !!!! Doh
  2. Quck question - shoes

Or both of you on Garlic = she won't notice your odour !! (LOL) Q1: Doesn't Odourless Garlic work ? Q2: Here in the UK they put Flouride in the water (in an attempt to stop tooth decay in kids & people who don't brush their Teeth). But I've recently read that Flouride can effect your Pineal Gland. Is that true ? Basher
  3. Free: Two free Kindle Books on Tao

Excellent, many thanks. I look forward to reading them !! Basher
  4. Non-specific chatter banter

Welcome Simpleton, suggest that you browse the Forums & post 4 more messages (can be anything). Then you'll win the key to the rest of the Tao Bums World. Basher
  5. Past Lives Just a Myth?

Gentlewind, like that a lot. ========== But this afternoon my Breath has been anything but sacred, hopefully some Minty Chewing Gum is helping out !
  6. Hello

    Outer or Inner, Nutshell ?
  7. Here because of Gary Clyman

Hi Shawn, Why is Gary particularly worried about what (some of) the Tao Bums think of him & his Powers ? From everything I've read he certainly has a great ability to control Internal Energies. But the "problem", if there is one, seems to his attitude to anyone that dares to question him or his techniques. He's seems a bit like Marmite, you either love him or hate him, but people usually cannot just ignore him. I'll admit that I'm extremely interested in learning a bit more about him & his teaching methods. But I won't worship or trash him because of someone else's views or judge somebody I haven't actually met in person. Basher
  8. Past Lives Just a Myth?

I "Hope" Life is a cycle & that we keep re-incarnating, until we've learnt / experienced all we need to, to progress.
  9. Greetings!

Welcome, interesting Blog, I'll read more later... but I've got to know... what happens next to the Poky Little Puppy ? (LOL) Basher
  10. Hello

    welcome Nutshell Basher
  11. Greeting and my work/

Poor Joke, your secret formula started with 144. "A Gross" is the term given to 12 dozen (ie 144). http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gross (Is that a tumbleweed, I see before me ?)
  12. Greeting and my work/

    144 ? Gross !!! (LOL)
  13. Morning Ritual?

Kinda like "Inertia"... You push against a Rock , harder & harder until you get it moving slowly... then once it's rolling along, it's a lot easier to just keep it going. (Poor example, but you know what I mean)
  14. Morning Ritual?

Agreed, when it's cold, wet & windy outside & you're in a nice warm comfy Bed with a memory foam mattress & pillows, with a thick fluffy duvet, it's sometimes a struggle to get up, get washed, dressed & go out. Unfortunately my employers point blank refuse to pay me, unless I travel in to the Office every weekday ! Also, my two dogs let me know that they'd like to go out first thing. So, if I ignore their polite request, I've got no-one else to blame if they've left a mess on the kitchen floor, by the back door, because I've turned over & gone back to sleep (Perhaps I'll fit a Dog-Flap in the Back Door, then they can go out, whenever the heck they like !!) Once out of the warm, cosy House I'm fine & raring to get started on whatever tasks await me that day.
  15. Greeting and my work/

Welcome to TTB's, James, Intriguing initial Post. I, like Rainbowvein & a whole host of others, would like to learn more. Can you explain, or show us a little more, without giving away any secrets* * (unless you want to, of course) Basher the Curious
  16. I dare not eat meat.

Here's something else, that would put you off eating meat !!! Rat meat being served up, as Lamb ! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22467484 Here in the UK lots of Meat undergoing random DNA testing looking for Horse, etc. If it says Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Pork, or even Goat on the packaging it should be 100% THAT, with no other animal meat at all, under any circumstances. If some shop or store is selling something by illegally labelling it as something else, fine them £25k for Each & every Instance. That way, it's more economical for THEM to make sure they're selling US, the consumer, the correct stuff. If they can close down a Restaurant when finding Mouse droppings on the kitchen floor, they should also be able to close down a Foodstore that's mis-selling Food items. Grrrr Calm...calm....remember to breath deeply, remember your training....phew. (Perhaps Vegatarians are Calmer, too ?) Basher
  17. Good morning

Welcome to TTB's Fionn. Can you tell us more ? Basher
  18. Welcome HappySinner, interesting first post. Lots of Academic types on here, also lots of "posters" with way more knowledge about the Tao, than I. But there are a lot of times when I drift away from my "To-Do" List, relax & just go with the flow. Only problem being, it drives my other (and better) half, mad. She likes to have goals to reach & targets to aim at. Ah well, "Per Ardua Ad Astra", as they say in the Relax And Focus (LOL) PS: Oh "Sit" on the Toilet, my mistake, I thought you wrote something else ! Basher
  19. Taiji Quan

Drunken Style Tai Chi, now there's a thought !
  20. Taiji Quan

All the difference in the world, between somebody correctly doing the Form, with "intent", energy flow, concentration, breathing, relaxation & technique.... and another who might look (to the layman) to be doing a similar performance, but who is, to all intents and purposes... "just waving their arms around in the air" (to quote my Instructor). LOL
  21. Gentle Wind

Here in the Uk I'm sure a study was done 20 years ago (?) that noted an increase in the rate of Cancer sufferers living near Electricity Pylons !!!

Welcome Barracuda1975, care to share any more about your experiences ? Basher
  24. unity and tribe

Used to be in days of yore that a "master" was : a) somebody who had all but completely mastered the martial art they were trying to teach you. and somebody that you respected and were completely obedient and submissive to, without question. If you were chosen as a Pupil, that was a great honour & you were duty bound to do everything asked of you, in return. "Inner Door" Pupils even more so. The expectation being that you would practice several hours each day, without complaint. In the modern era, the term Master has (in the main) long been replaced by Teacher / Instructor. Schools / Classes cost money & as long as you've got the cash, they'll (usually) instruct you in their art(s) for a few hours each week. Even more recently, we're seeing the term Coach used in the western world. As in most Sports... Unsure if that's a good thing, or not. My own teacher calls himself "The Technical Director" of his Arts, as he's choosing the direction his Organisation takes. He decides which particular parts of the Arts are taught on courses & in classes, etc (but takes into consideration the views of all of his Senior Instructors). His skill level is IMHO that of a Grandmaster, yet because his own Grandmaster died in 1994, he's remained with the same Teaching Grade ever since. Not self-graded himself to "Master of the entire Universe", like some. For two hours worth of quality tuition, he charges us the princely sum of £5.00. For that, I get to train with a great bunch of people, most of whom are Instructor Grades themselves. And whilst they're obviously all keen to learn more themselves, they all put themselves out to help us "Student" Grades. Basher
  25. Morning Ritual?

How much "Training" does it take, to reach this Level ?
