  1. Hello Everyone

Hello & Welcome ShinRa. Glad that you've decided to come out of the shadows. Basher
  2. Gentle Wind

Hi Gentlewind, interesting that we're around the same age, similar interests, including Rock (AC/DC, Led Zep, etc.) Was with you all the way until you mentioned Liverpool FC !!! (LOL) Palace fan myself, so perhaps we'll get to meet you guys next season. If you think that's bad, my lady is a QPR fan !!! (Oh Dear) Basher
  3. Hello

    welcome.
  4. unity and tribe

Never being able to mention 4 ? Lucky he wasn't your Golfing Instructor !! It's always disappointing to be "put off" of something we enjoy, by somebody else with a "problem". I've met a lot of Martial Art Instructors, most of whom were / are dedicated, honest, friendly types who simply wish to spread their teachings because they believe that it's an art worth learning about and the student will benefit if he puts some effort in. Money is rarely a key motivator for the genuine "Master" (IMHO).
  5. Quck question - shoes

Yeah !!! and why did all your Friends suddenly keep six feet away from you all the time ? That's a Puzzler !! (LOL)
  6. Hi there

  7. Past Lives Just a Myth?

54.73% of all Statistical Studies, are more than 21.62% inaccurate !!! (Ok so I might have made that up) LOL "Independant" Medical Studies sponsored by Pharmaceutical companies, showing that 75% of us would be healthier, taking their Tablets on a daily basis.... etc etc.
  8. Quck question - shoes

  11. Past Lives Just a Myth?

Believe that each of the Dalai Lama's is purported to have been a re-incarnation. I've immensely enjoyed each & every one of the Books by Tuesday Lobsang Rampa, but still un-sure if I Believe or not ! (LOL) Amazing how many people believe they were Napoleon, Geronimo, or Cleopatra in a previous life. And not a penniless peasant of no historical significance !!! Basher
  12. Here to separate fact from fiction

    Welcome, please tell us more.
  13. Quck question - shoes

Apech, I am humbled & stand in your Shadow !!! I realise now that I was only looking at the surface layer of this Quck Question. Re Skin Colour, perhaps we could ask Beyonce ?

  16. Pranotthana : good forum or not?

Just to confuse you all a little more, here in the UK the word "Bum" is slang for your Bottom / Backside / Arse !!! Believe those of an American pursuasion would say ASS !!! (LOL)
  17. Meat or Not-For chi development

Sorry, I should make it clear that the "Taoist Diet" I refer to is called the Ch'ang ming. It was first brought to the UK by Chan Kam Li, in the 1930's (I think). He then modified it for the UK, something to do with the climate, the soil, etc. Basically, everybody that follows this diet eats local organically grown vegatables, grains, pulses, etc and fruit that's in season. One of the main points is to reduce your dairy intake.... as Chee Soo used to say, cows milk is meant for for baby cows, not humans.
  18. Hello! Nice day?

40 years of studying the Chinese Martial arts, Mike M ? Glad to have you here......your views should be worth reading. welcome
  19. Meat or Not-For chi development

I don't live in a Cave, don't even have any Wisdom Teeth, let alone Wisdom !! But have met plenty of Daoist Lee/Li Tai Chi types that are Vegatarian. Most of them seem to do it because their Instructors advise it, for Health / Longevity reasons. Some because they're against Animal Cruelty. Unsure if there's any evidence that it helps you develop / store Chi.
  20. hello taobums

Greetings, are you related to Will.I.Am ?

  23. why do islam terrorist hate americans

My History Teacher taught me things which suggested that the USA were late coming into both WW1 & WW2. But don't remember them actually being involved in the Crusades, not sure America had even been discoved at that time !! Although I'm sure that a Hollywood Blockbuster will come out correcting me & showing American Knights in Stars n Stripes Armour winning the Crusades all by themselves !!! (the facts are rather inconvenient so this usually happens in Movie land, USA) Believe the Crusades were started by Western European Roman Catholic (mostly French & English) types, trying to re-take the Holy Lands from the Saracens/Muslims. To this Day, the English Flag of St. George (A Red Cross on a White Background) is seen as offensive by some Muslims. As, for them, it represents the invading hordes of Christian Infedels from 1095 - 1291. I know of lots of British Muslims who are treated with distain because of their looks/beards/religeon. I also have some friends who happen to be Muslims & have introduced me to their culture & beliefs without judging me for mine. So I know that they can be some of the most warm, genourous & kind hearted people that you could ever wish to meet. Hate Clerics & Suicide Bombers / Terrorists are nothing to do with Islam. They are deluding themselves & their followers if they believe otherwise. =========================================== But on a separate note - I do wonder who it was that voted the USA, the Worlds Guardians/Protectors ?
  24. Is enjoying food important?

Wasn't it the Tibetan Buddhists in the Monastaries (before the Chinese Invasion) that used to eat Tsampa, morning, noon & night. Apparently, the Lama's used to say that food was just fuel for the body and should be bland, in order not to excite the senses. Of course, if an animal accidentally fell over a cliff it would have been a shame to waste the chance of a little Meat. (LOL) Not sure I'd go that far....
  25. Hello

Welcome to TTB's... I think that you're one of those "reflective" Taoists. Plenty of philosophical debate for you to read & engage in, here. Basher
