  1. nude-bee

Exactly The "Intention" is what counts IMHO. Welcome to the Tao Bums world my friend. Basher (the too bashful to go nude on a public beach and thus start a mass panic when people think a wild bear has escaped)
  2. nude-bee

Chang, I think that you forgot "Shy" !!! (lots of Shy Lurkers on here) So should surely be ... As a shy, nude, pot washing, masturbating painter who practices tai chi you should find yourself very much at home here. LMAO Basher
  3. Hi :)

I was referring to that old & rather obscure BBC TV Comedy show... Epic Fail - (on my part) LOL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filthy_Rich_%26_Catflap Basher
  4. Hello, the meaning of the Tao

Hello PiperMichael & welcome. I'm "new" here myself, so will leave it to those more "experienced" than I, to respond to your initial Post. IMHO - God / The Tao / Taoism are all just words that we label things by, in order to make ourselves better understood. The trouble is that we humans love to pidgeonhole things & once we do that we're automatically putting limitations on the subject under discussion. From my perspective, I'd certainly like to read / understand more about "the Way". For instance, why do you say "it sits between the Yin and Yang" ? Basher
  5. Amitabha

Chang my friend, I'm sure that's helped DTHE / Amitabha enormously... LOL  (Damn I'm now humming that tune !!!) Basher
  6. A pathway

In my youth saw an article in "Look In" Magazine (sort of kids TV & cartoon style mag). Well known DJ Ed "Stewpot" Stewart had started to learn Kung Fu from an old Chinese chap called Chee Soo. I went up to London to take a look & got hooked. Found a local class / teacher in that style & went once or twice a week. A few years later I also started doing his "Lee" T'ai Chi Ch'uan. BIG GAP where no training took place due to various reasons... Re-started learning the Li Arts last September, under the "Old Mans" Senior Instructor. Tony Swanson of the T.A.O. Basher
  7. Dear All, as a very recent "Poster" on this Forum, I'm delighted to read a great deal of the Posts... as they are usually educational, interesting, thought provocking and / or entertaining. But I've already read a lot of Negative comments about various people / subjects. You know the kind of thing... "I've been practising "XYZ" for 10 years and if you've been doing "ZYX" then you're just a fool wasting your time " If you treat everybody else with Contempt, purely because they disagree with you & your views. then I'd suggest that you're actually not practising the Taoism you preach (if you know what I mean). 8. mercury tooth filling removal

Hi Phore, not a dental expert but from what I have seen / read, definitely a Pro's job I had one removed a while back & the Dentist was wearing a face mask plus eye shield. Whilst I had a mouthful of rubber to catch all of the bits !!! Basher
  9. The Yin Yang Symbol

I copied VMarko's post from my Hidden Agenda thread, as I'm interested to know / learn more about the ubiquitous "Yin Yang" symbol. The image used for my Avatar was (if incorrect) used by me in total ignorance. Not for some "negative" or anarchic (?) reason... But having trawled the mighty web for a couple of days, I've seen all manner of differing Yin Yangs Is Vm correct in their assertion ? Is only one Yin Yang layout correct ? Thanks Basher
  10. Introducing myself

Hmmm, that explains why I've not seen one Coconut Tree in the whole of the UK. Some greedy whatsit has been eating too much. If I understand correctly, Clearance of the Amazon Rain Forest and the De-forestation of Easter Island, I suppose could be examples of groups, rather than individuals doing this. Thanks for clearing that up. Basher
  11. A vicious frog

I don't believe that any version of "The Bible" was actually written by a God (or Dog) of any sort. According to popular belief, it was (mostly) a collection of lots of much older stories all cobbled together around 60AD by various Priests of one particular sect. Looking to increase their power & influence over their Tribe / Tribes. IMHO I don't think you can judge the "Christian" God, or todays Sunday Worshipping Christians for that matter, based on one Book which was originally meant for those who lived 2,000 years ago. Blindly following the teachings in any Book is surely just as bad as Insulting those whose own views are simply different from your own. Perhaps they simply read / study different Books ! PEACE Basher
  12. Do You Have A Hidden Agenda ?

Good Points Marblehead. Best T-Shirt I've ever seen bore the Legend "REMEMBER YOU ARE UNIQUE" then underneath in very small writing "Just like everyone else." Basher
  13. Introducing myself

Never heard of the "Tragedy of the Commons" can you (or somebody else) please explain. Many Thanks Basher
  14. One person making such a difference. Physically gone but not forgotton by us, or (obviously) the Elephants. Basher
  15. Our Not so Hidden Agendas

    EPIC  Basher
  16. ....

Cordoba Fighting Dog Whoa, now that's taking things a bit too far LMAO (Tho sometimes I can see the whole of Humanity going the same way...) They should have called them the "Cordoba soon to be extinct Dumb Ass Dog that doesn't plan ahead". Perhaps the World is better off without such breeds. Scotty, I can see by that photo / post that a Dogs wild nature courses through you !!! LOL Hot Nirvana Judo Trend, would that be a Bea-wolf, a Wolfal or a Weagal ? But what I really wanna know is, who the hell started VM off again ????? Basher
  17. Introducing myself

Hi scottk, welcome from another "newbie". I for one, very much enjoyed reading your Yin and Yang paper. Will try re-reading it when I have the time. Although you could have paused for breath a bit more often. Basher
  18. Hi :)

    [Duplicated Post]

    [triplicated Post !!!]
  20. Hi :)

Hi FiltyRich and welcome. What I want to know is, what have you done with CatFlap ? PEACE Basher
  21. Our Not so Hidden Agendas

Hi Twinner, thanks but I'm enjoying reading all of the "debates" etc on that thread too. Seems like I lit the blue touch paper & then bravely ran away (like Sir Robin for you Monty Python fans). But there's just so much good stuff on this Forum... Yours is a great idea too, as obviously a lot of people on here are open & honest about their Agendas right from the start. Basher the Beginner, here to read, learn and be entertained.
  22. Do You Have A Hidden Agenda ?

Definitely the subject for another Thread IMHO... far too interesting reading about all these Agendas & Egos on this one LOL Basher (native speaker of English)
  23. Do You Have A Hidden Agenda ?

Ok then.... Moonbar, I quite agree. IMO it's a lot easier for somebody to understand what you mean when you're talking face to face. Your tone, inflection, body language, expression, etc all add to the message you're trying to convey. So it's undoubtedly frustrating if somebody misunderstands, or just won't listen to you. More Pie Guy, once again agree wholeheartedly. It is difficult sorting the "Wheat from the Chaff", the jems of real insight from the made up BS. Cat, thank you for your post. The nickname was bestowed upon me many years ago at work, after I accidentally smashed into a petite secretary who was half my size, during a "friendly" after hours Softball Match. As I looked a bit thuggish, I kinda enjoyed the name at the time. But these days it just reminds me of how far I still need to travel, to get away from my alter-Ego. It's also useful on-line, as several TCC (on-line only) friends know me by that name alone. Jetson: Interesting Point. Vmarco: I'll come back to you if I may. Stosh: Old Green: Quite. Marblehead: try offering some cheap plastic Lao Tzu figurine, with every "conversion". :D Basher (PEACE to all, have a great weekend folks, I'm outta here)
  24. Take Leave of Your Sanity

Agree with you that for every "Bad" Dog Story, there's a "Good" one (if you actually bother to look). But as there's already a Viscious Doggy thread someplace else, I'm staying out of this, LOL :ninja: . Basher
  25. qi experience?

Excellent mate, you know it makes sense !
