LMAO....as a small / slight Teenager I joined a Kyokushinkai (Knock-Down, full contact) Karate class, for self defence. came home covered in bruises most nights !! Probably would have hurt less if I'd been mugged after every class !!

I'm currently trying to make my way through 4 different "physical" Books, plus various others on my Kindle*. (* other tablets are available) A brief overview / introduction is exactly that. It must be stripped down / simplified, else it won't be brief !! It's not intended to explain everything relating to that subject. Surely it's only meant to give you an incentive to explore a subject in more depth, if you feel the need. Or am I missing something ?

Learning Mandarin is also on my "to-do" list, but I'll need to speak it too.

Some of those in Power have lovely Palaces/Cars/Planes/Ships etc., whilst their people starve & have Nothing !

Some Busy Parents used to let the vids watch the (only) TV in the Living Room, whilst they cooked etc. These days almost every kid has a TV or a PC / Tablet or Mobile Phone which they can watch in their own room, or almost anywhere else. Luckily all of my (step) children are now Adults themselves. Their kids will probably come with in-built HUD's !!

The TV News is full of film clips of thousands of people coming to Europe. We expect Refugees to have nothing but the clothes on their backs, to look hungry, thirsty, dishevelled, etc. We also expect to see Families, Men, Women & Children, people of all ages. And indeed on some of the film clips that's exactly what we're seeing. Other clips tell a different story, boatloads / lorry loads of young able-bodied men. Not many women & hardly a kid to be seen. Now these could of course be people believing they'd be asked to become Soldiers if they stayed where they were. But with seemingly no checks being made, because of the deluge of the displaced & lost. There could of course be a lot of people that support the Isis ideology.

I prefer Taomeow's "bright side" take on it !! Basher The Immortal !! Interesting note about "Death" though, as for several years I've not heard of anyone close to me having died. Last Year (2014) one of my closest mates from schooldays, lost his Mother, and an ex Neighbour of mine got diagnosed with Mesothelioma & died within six months !! This year (2015) we've already lost (Big) John, a great character & Tai Chi Instructor for the TAO, who was 2 years younger than me !! My Partners Mother & my Favourite Aunt, admittedly both of them were aged. But now I'm wondering if there's a 4th Funeral to attend sometime soon.

There are certainly a lot more things to distract young-uns (and not so young-uns) from dealing with "Real Life" these days. Social Media/Video Games/Constantly Downloading Music or Videos !!! Here in the UK, the Authorities are thinking of Banning kids from taking their Mobile Phones into School, as too many pupils get distracted by texts etc during Lesson time !!

I used to do that too... a kinda blending in with the group, thing. La-de-daa University types....Essex/Thames Estuary mates...Rastafarians in Brixton, Indians/Pakistanis from elsewhere in South London....ha ha. I eventually learnt just to be myself & let everyone else take it or leave it.

Once signed up, she rose in popularity in the UK. Later becoming a presenter on various TV shows. Though I wouldn't really call her a "Star", she certainly had a lot more talent than most of the current crop!
