Just watched his YouTube on zz. Seems normal.
-
What book? Can't find that post.
-
Sad. Sometimes people would ask me whether a teacher is good or not. I would recommend looking at his students. If his students, let say inner circle, are good and even intermediate students are good. Then it is a good teacher. A great achiever who cannot replicates his success to students is no use.
-
Oh this is the Chi Dragon himself. Nice garden. But with his age and doing such, it would be easy to be a spirit.
-
I would say they don't really put emphasis on ZZ, not to mention some are against it. Whether a teacher is willing to share can be seen from a broader perspective. If they don't teach anything serious, then it is obvious. But if they are not keen on some particular areas, then there may be other reasons. For the inner circle problem, it is expected from all Chinese teachers.
-
May be some of you receive very good instruction from masters. But I was taught ZZ many times from different masters/teachers etc. None of them spend more than 1 minute in the "training". Is it very different from self learning?
-
Yes, if ZZ cannot be self-learn, the whole inner training thing can never be learned without a good master.
-
Ok, is this the one? Xin Yi is the father of Ying Yi and the grandson is Xi Kuen? You can read a bit of Chinese?
-
You are right. I am referring to Ying Yi 形意.
-
Xin Yi's pose is unbalanced. It looks like having other more important purposes than health. Is there any correctional exercises to counter balance the ZZ? Taichi itself has very different views on ZZ. Some are against it as it creates stiffness and affect "Sung". Others treat it as basic exercise for health, and some breakdown the individual moves to be the stances. I would say it reflects the masters' own preference than lineages.

According to Taoist writing, theoretically it can be done. But Buddhist seems never develop the technique. Because Enlightenment itself is very difficult and is the end itself. And if one is to be successful taking the path, attachment must be removed, removing body attachment is naturally one of them. It is a bit of ideological barrier.

What happens if you build energy but Never CIRCULATE it or guide to LDT ?
Master Logray replied to EmeraldHead's topic in General Discussion
Chi is like money. They come in but they are also spent. As to focusing on LDT, Taoist focuses on LDT, MDT, UDT, other parts like feet, skin, outside......, depending on the system or levels. -
Me too. I think the opposite is true i.e. most schools don't train nor practise emitting Chi.

Is he born in Philippines or migrated ?

It is an unfortunate fact that Chinese kung fu is no longer able to fight. He sort of exposes something that many people know. In China forums those fa ji are heavily ridiculed.

If i am 100% happy and accepting to present moment - why do anything ?
Master Logray replied to waterdrop's topic in Daoist Discussion
Congrats , you are in Wu ji state (primordial). -
@waterdrop Your observation is correct. Taoist always says body (Ming) and mind (Xing) are both important. Without body being healthy, it is not possible to still the mind and life is short, so one must hurry and to keep this precious vehicle to fulfill the grand objective, preferably within one life. The mind alchemy is more important in higher stage cultivation. Since most people never proceed to the higher stage, they concentrate on the body. Buddhist's aims are to end sufferings, free from the vicious reincarnation and enlightenment (all are Mind things). Body to them is a temporary vehicle (in Chinese, a stinky sac), which is secondary. These thinkings led to serious argument in the early 20th century in China. Even today China people always wonder why Buddhist monks are quite often fat and Taoist are more often skinnier.

Dantian are usually referred to as physical locations. They exist with or without Chi.

About Nazism, sheep and the virus propaganda
Master Logray replied to Gerard's topic in The Rabbit Hole
For many countries in the Far East where everybody wears a mask, the lock down is not so harsh. Either you quarantine the whole person or their faces. Hypothetically if everyone dresses like Darth Vader or Stormtroopers in the Star Wars all the time, then lock down is not necessary. -
Finally watched the video. Just as you said, he didn't say where the mind is or should be. He is talking about initial training of Neikung. "Attention" may be a better word for mind in this context. In the later stages, what he said there is no longer valid. By the way, is the book good?

Spontaneous Qigong (Zifa Gong) 自发功
Master Logray replied to forestofclarity's topic in Daoist Discussion
The phenomenon you experienced could be a result of spontaneous Chikung or the result of other practices. Different reasons could contribute to the same phenomenon, individually or collectively. -
What I am saying is using Taiji as Qi Gong, is workable, could have reasonable results, or even spectacular results in the extreme case. The drawback is, Taiji is designed for combat. Every move has offense and defense implications. So when there are conflicts of aims, Taiji is not as direct, in short, it is not efficient. e.g. Cloud hands could be powerful in fighting and as a standalone Qi Gong style. But not the case for many moves, like punching, kicking or even turning. And Taiji is not left/right balanced. Taiji is a Swiss army knife for me. It can do so many things. Yet if I have a specific problem, Qi Gong often has some direct remedies like strengthening a certain meridian. Qi Qong is like eating with fork and spoon. I don't use Swiss army knife to eat.

Vietnam acted very early and efficiently. Partly because they are also communist. They know fellow Chinese Communist very well. They know China must have covered up.
