  1. We can talk about the external aspects, the cosmic knowledge, divine, philosophy, precepts, parables, managing desires, humility.... All these help to reduce angers outside of meditation.
  2. As @Nungali said there are 2 types of meditation. Passive meditation pretty means doing nothing. When a person is idle, he will think of many things, recall major or trivial happenings in life, also about solid ones like lost objects, deadlines, grievances, pets.... All these trigger corresponding emotion when that happened or happening. So it is natural to be "sobbing with rage" and it almost always does. When a person is living a very hectic, pressurized life, passive meditation brings immediate relaxation in body and later the mind. However once the initial calm down is achieved, the meditator becomes idle. Then he either runs into a recall mode or alternatively in a creation mode, imagining. The recall sooner or later will involve anger as everyone is angry at some point in time. When the meditator reaches this stage, then it is "where the real work begins" by @snowymountains. Different schools have different methods to overcome this. The simplest way to handle is again disengagement. If one is angry, don't sit, do some Qigong and come back later. Of course some schools go on doing nothing to the end. If the purpose of meditation is solely for relaxation and stop there, then it is better not to sit too long. Relaxing the body and slowing the mind is good enough for body and mind. @Taoist Texts does have a point. The liver is closely associated with emotions. But the normal discourse is emotions affecting the liver first and sluggish liver Chi affects emotion later.
  3. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

I forgot to mention there are plenty of big pythons, swarms of mosquitos..... even inside your house.
  4. Help on the spiritual path

Check on these first. Taichi is not exactly what you want to do. But it is a safe first step and very good foundation for Qigong and other endeavours. https://www.youtube.com/@TaliaKav https://www.taliakav.com/english https://www.taichi.co.il/cheng-ming-system/tai-chi/
  5. Lower Dan Tian connected to childhood?

Dantien is supposed to be concerning infancy or before-birth rather than childhood.
  6. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

I watched a lot of short film about crocodiles in Australia. They are in fresh water, sea water, and even miles into land. Is it safe to stay alone in fishing area you don't know?
  7. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

The term "Master", in my opinion, can refer to a person who has mastery of something, who may or may not have students. Your sentiment is not uncommon. Many "masters" refuse to take in students, and they may instruct a "friend" on a temporary basis.
  8. Subud

I did communicate with a Subud member, perhaps decades ago. I forgot what was the occasions. That guy said he had remote viewing abilities. Since you are here, I have 2 questions. How is the Sufi doing in Indonesia? and Is the water table in Indonesia/Java very high - i.e. when you stand on grass, your shoes got soaked ?
  9. Looking for help

I think going to a western doctor is the 1st step. They most likely cannot settle Qigong issues, but they can screen out some other problems, which can be COINCIDENTAL to the current condition, indirectly affecting it. Then the second step is disengagement - discontinue current practice and doing nothing. As one of us said, it could have been merely overtrained. Wait for 3-6 months and see if it helps. This approach is frequently advised by many members. After that, then try for some pelvic exercises as suggested by @Nungali. The last resort would be taking up new Qigong systems. But it has to be supervised by suitably experienced teachers.
  10. How does it work?

Stretching the definition? The definition of immortal is loose, just like many other things. It is the culture. Planting the soul - possession, is quite commonly mentioned. In fact one of the Eight Immortals had his body burned when he was in deep trance for days. He had to takeover a deformed beggar's body to carry on. Taking over a living person's body was not only considered abusive behaviour, but was heavily censured. You have a very good point on the bandwidth issue and how do these guys store their information? I recall New Agers say the memory is stored outside of the body, the Akashic Records, spiritual version of cloud storage.
  11. How does it work?

That depends on the subject. For other things you are right. With so meager information, what can you do? wholesale believe or not believe? Or interview one of them? At least it is a reasonable start. It is not unlike predicting lifeforms in other planets. You have to start somewhere. My conclusion is that the success rate must be very low, given the long history and huge population of China, with the loose definition as in my another post. Everyone loves money and makes money. But no one targets to be the richest man on earth. Having more is good enough. Immortality is the same. As one of us said, is it really fine to live in a body for hundreds of years? But having longer life with vitality is certain welcome.
  12. How does it work?

The Taoist does have a definition on the types - 5. You have certainly read about it. They are not what most people believe if you think about it. Ghost immortals : technically an intelligent ghost Heaven immortals : human transformed into another specie. These 2 are actually no more human. Counting lifespan is not sensible. I do believe they have their own lifespan. 2 more categories: Men immortals: mere human with long age, 100+ (old days lifespan was 40). This looks like not very impossible nowadays. Earth immortals: a few hundred years of age, with some abilities. But they still die. Science will bring us there one day, probably not too long. Immortals (generally believed) : This is the genuine one. They can surpass the limit of a body, appear at will anywhere. It is said they can live forever but I think there is still a certain limit. So you see being an immortal is not that difficult, and immortals do have lifespan. They either die or turn into something else. In a way immortality does not exist.
  13. How does it work?

Someone collected the number of immortals, who having full names, from old books. They counted a few hundred. Another source says it is below one thousand. If all these are true, there are only a few persons per year maximum.
  14. How does it work?

When we talk about Immortal here, it refers to Taoist Internal Alchemy training only. Naturally there would be other ways to achieve immortality. This Taoist system exists roughly 2000 years although its root is longer. That means the oldest immortals generated from this system is at most 2000 years old. This is far from the term Immortal means, or the notion of "living forever". Scientifically, we need to wait until the first fully immortal to die, then we have an idea of their maximum lifespan, provided we can do it.
  15. Stranger things

In Simcity, this type of design wastes space and creates traffic problems.
  16. How does it work?

Googled. Transphobic gender doesn't mean transgender? It is an attitude towards gender but says nothing about the gender itself.
  17. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

Great that you embrace the suggestion. But forget to mention it is better to leave out the space between the two words. It might cause complications somewhere. Usernames don't usually allow space. Btw, being addressed as a master is only half the way. You have to appear to be like a master (at least pretending). Your writing style needs working.
  18. What is your favorite (daoist?) breakfast?

Most Taoists eat meat. Western bacon is almost nonexistent in China. We do eat Lap Cheong or Yun Cheong ( liver Cheong ), mostly in winter for lunch or dinner.
  19. Can jing be replenished?

Sometimes it is cultural. A person is expected to have a son (or 2) before going into Neidan or full abstinence. Before that they can still engage in taming the mind but not the real work.
  20. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

There is an easy way, change the username. I suppose Solo Cultivator can change it to "Master Solo", it just sounds great and would be satisfying to him, without the need to write a theory at all. *** @blue eyed snake Going back to grounding/earthing, I am also somewhat surprised that there are 2 separate promoting threads about grounding in a short time. Solo's claim of originality doesn't stand as I have read a translated version of a book about grounding many years ago. I do believe it, but it seems to me a remedy for contemporary persons living in temperate regions only. i.e. a very narrow application. In old days in China, not everyone had shoes, or proper shoes. People tended to be bare feet and sat on the ground a lot. In southern China, farmers had to be bare feet to work in paddy fields. In south east Asia even today, people are quite used to being bare feet. Everyone wearing rubber sole shoes started from only a few decades ago. I suppose India and Thailand are also hot and damp that either bare feet or a simple sandal will do. Australians too. With this frequent "grounding", whatever associated Chi phenomenon would have been long discovered. On the contrary, there are warnings of not sitting on the ground or bare feet due to the dampness from the earth which could give rise to a lot of health issues like pain in later stage in life. I think a person in US which has a temperate climate, wear shoes even inside house, living in multi-storey buildings, drive a lot, would need some "grounding". This is not a wide enough scope for developing a enshrined "Path", irrespective of Solo's manner in writing.
  21. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

@Solo Cultivator Your message about stealing the Jing get the thread stopped for possibly offensive to members. I just want to say there is indeed a form of cultivation that absorb/steal/rob the partners' Jing during sex. It can be both ways, male to female or vice versa, depending on the strength of each party. This practice is not common but also not that rare. Participants do not enjoy or love or for union or for money, it is just a technique. Formal schools naturally don't like this approach. Those doing it are observable by experienced cultivators, and, according to some legends, get thunder strike from heaven. I am not sure you found out yourself or read from books.
  22. Can jing be replenished?

I love what you said. I did encounter a teacher, only taught 2th to 6th movement of a 8 movements set, and ask for money for the remaining and some extras! This guy happens to be teaching about Jing, vs all others on Chi only.
  23. Can jing be replenished?

"consistently shut down at retreats" - what does it mean actually?

The oxygen theory was started before? WWII. In 1953 when the Chinese government created the term "ChiKung/QG), it was solely referred to breathing exercise. It indirectly indicated the belief that effect of CK/QG was a result of more oxygen supply. Of course it is no longer the case after so many years. The latest theory says Chi is a form of information, possibly drawn from latest discoveries in science. I don't think the oxygen theory is valid. The Chi cultivation was thousands of years old. In those days, the farmers and labourers would have whatever oxygen required. This theory may have some value nowadays when everyone spends hours over a phone.

The title is touching grass - lose Chi. Is the grass an important element in this question? How about touching other things? Touching doesn't mean grounding. We can touch tree leaves above us too. Yang Chi's property is fire-like, and often described as fire. It is hot, dry and going up. So it is in the alchemy to direct it down to mix with the cold damp water in the lower body, heating up to finally become the Dan, long story short. By its nature, Yang Chi is not easy to do downward, even if we want to. This theory is applicable generally. Yet I do encounter a method to send Yang Chi into the ground to create better quality Chi. It is of course the exception. When the downward flow of Chi is discussed, it is normally refer to expelling the sick Chi. For martial arts, the issue of losing Chi to the ground, depending on different Kung Fu, sometimes makes sense. In fighting, the fighter needs to gather all the available Chi inside the body, to lessen incoming damages and to send it out in 1 go. So martial arts schools would try to close the Yong Chun (point underneath the feet) by grasping the toes. It is contrary to alchemical mode when the cultivator is expected to open the toes to facilitate draining of the sick Chi.
