  4. Maybe they do need male input, im single. ,
  5. Im not putting any negativity on aggression , just a driving foward yang apporoach. To me yang exerts , yin collects , its not bad or good, not mean or nice. To go for your desires , to try to do ,, thats yang. There is not one without the other. One needs strength to nurture, we admire this exertion, to feed the baby, to protect, this is yang. Not yin.
  6. I dont know that one, just the quirky old lady.
  7. dunno, that was a fun commercial though. And it touches what we want ,,figuratively,, the heart of the matter.
  8. Implication of being top poster? Momentarily that person is trying to reach out most aggressively.
  9. The beef of an issue is rarely even approached , the obfuscations and rhetorical diversions start so far out.....
  10. The patience required to reveal the truth , the clear view, the place where there is no reasonable dispute, , its not sought. What is done is a digging in of heels , defense of ones last summary statement .
  11. When I was a kid, I was like silent Bob too. I think we deeply desire to relate, and somewhere along the lie we get the idea that words can accomplish that. We end up twittering as others twitter trying desperately to extend out. As we do do we are scorched , the craziness of each impacts the next. To defend against this craziness , we argue .and few ever find a one that does not burn.I dont know the solution to this. I wish I did.

  15. The Father and Son of Taoist Philosophy

@rene,Sorry for embedding the baby seal idea like that. This second passage too, to me has the the same dubious attitude about the life death issue. He ASKS, is life is the fortunate situation. I find this very relatable, its honest. Its the kind of approach that the old and wise , that folks who have been face to face with it, often ,I think ,come to. We pile up there ,like salmon at a hurdle......yknow, even though those salmon are on a one way mission they accept and exert themselves to, they still scoot from the bears paws. So this ,half logical stance, the dubious conclusion, mixed bag attitude, is not only plausible , but for some it may be archetypal.
  16. The Father and Son of Taoist Philosophy

You could say that you prefer life with all it brings ,however crazy it might seem.
  17. The Father and Son of Taoist Philosophy

This particular passage then reads very anomalous to me. It stands out contrastingly to the idea of returning to the amorphous...or the origin for that matter. .....since the skull does not ask ,Why, but rather How, and already chose tail dragging in the mud over status position. If daoists were looking for eternal life, that which may seem a no brainer, isnt so simple. And if they claimed to be able to do that then who is the skull? Relatively speaking, to hearing from a sage.

    Pick one smartypants.
  19. The Father and Son of Taoist Philosophy

So ,is the last line indicated to be read as ironic? Or rhetorical.
  20. Saving the World & Solar Energy

I found the situation down here similar, it seems like it would be easy in fla, but frankly our climate soil sand and water is very demanding on many crop plants. We would be better off growing opuntia and sea grapes ,but they arent exactly popular. I always wondered why celery was so popular.
  21. eye test - game

Since the scores dont actually matter for any reason whatsoever ,proper attention and grace count just as much, maybe more.
  22. eye test - game

    Like,,by getting new eyes?
  23. Lz,Zz and ego

So as not to far divert another thread I bring this ego thing up afresh here. It surprised me that the attitudes on ego..by the two authors,,is considered dissimilar. Now a days, joy and sorrow are viewed as funtions of the freudian id. If Zz felt the id was problematic, as well as the ego, which mediates between the id and superego , then his sage is a man operating from only the position of the superego and lives a joyless mechanical extrinsically motivated life. Whereas Lz is fine with joy and sorrow, but not the ego, and so his sage is an irrational emotion driven one. Right?
  24. Lz,Zz and ego

I suppose its possible, but striding boldly forward, even knowing that what may come isnt certain, makes for a funner path , than second guessing all the way. No matter what I do its a roll of the dice. Etc blah blah yadda yadda its like me slowly riding an ox with hell and damnation at my heels.
