I clicked the url and saw several people I do know there in the facebook listing, but theres a pile I have no clue who they are. I considered just friend requesting everyone so if they did want to say something, they could. But I dont know if that would turn into a big hassle. Its just so many damn people I wondered , where do all these people know of me from? Tb`s ?
  2. Ok, Vk,I can go with that. But truly,, I dont get what it is you or I could do otherwise thats better. Do your own posts ,serve you or I some product? Do you feel you get something out of participation ? or do you feel you get nothing from it. I suppose you can see where I am going with this... that, while you certainly arent wrong about the consumption aspect... if there is any point to posting then its a consumer product..isnt it?
  3. Sorry my posts keep getting inserted in the quote box . POS SAMSUNG!..... for instance ,I think I might do me or someone else some good. If I didnt think so , then all I can do is leave us all to sink or swim. And that one less headache. Why should we challenge what someone already thinks? Why should we support what someone already thinks? They wont like the first option, and the second is useless.
  4. That can be true,, I know I cant disprove it. Our socialization can be crappy. Mine was. Buut I want to take responsibility for it all, going forward. My parents are dead ,how can I still be holding them responsible? Any problems are truly mine now. MINE mine mine ,all mine. And I covetously nurture them , my own personal headache squad. Crazy as it sounds. admin: fixed quote box
  5. If they really wanted to end suffering ... IF Doesnt it seem plausible, that the expectations you have , might not actually be theirs? They dont care? They have no faith that they can be effective? They meditate their compassion ? They leave you to live your life unimposed upon? Uninterfered with? Whats the best thing you can do for whales? Leave them alone. People generally defend the ideas they have, really respond negatively to input they dont recognize. I dont think its out of stupidity, because its true for bright folks. Its not out of fear, since they dont feel afraid all the time. Why then are folks resistant? I think its because we love the illusions we hold. There is something we treasure about every stupid thing ,and every other thing ,we chooose for ourselves. So if someone really felt they couldnt overcome that, then any input they could have would just be fruitless interference. A negative.

Actually I was trying to show in my little story,,, if it sounds like a a plausible progression.. That one doesnt really abide by one methodology...mindset exclusively. So its not an always scenario. If you need your car keys, do you pray to god or draw a chart? No , you look around for them.

Sure I think that makes sense. Science is very slow, very tentative, and it lacks spontaneity. No one is scientific all the time. The method of it provides no impetus for anything. Following ones intuition heavily, can be really exciting and personal. Admin: fix quote
  9. Chuang Tzu Chapter 4, Section B

Sam found himself in a big enclosure of humgry lions. There was a big lock on the door and a six foot pile of assorted keys next to it. First he comes up with a hypothesis, that the correct key will be big. He grabs the big keys and tests them on the lock. Thats science. Then as the lions approach he just starts grabbing keys at random and frantically tries to force one to work. Thats empirical investigation. As the lions get closer still... he starts throwing keys at the lions hoping it will keep them at bay, and prays to everything he can think of ,to get him the hell out of there. Thats religion.

I suppose I agree but I am not sure what you mean. Someone else can repeat what we did in an experiment. See the same results. Show folks the connections. As far as betterness goes, I dont know what youre saying. If you can make a giant mental leap which obviates years of fruitless experiment, and get the working answer. I suppose thats better for the individual,,though for everyone else, its best to be able to follow with confidence, and the groundwork needs to have been provided. admin: fix quote

the assumption of science ,is that its not dependent upon ones individual preference or bias.
  12. Ah but the the judge is then the person who does not yet understand . So how could such a one be the judge?

I dont want to argue with anyone Mh, its just that what I think is really very obvious, umm may not be from another vantage point. I just cant figure out where the darn disconnections are. !! I figure that to lots of folks it would be a great surprise how much I strive to speak simply. Ive gone back to old posts and damn if they dont look difficult !! It truly amazes me. MYbe I need to slow way way down ,,would it help? Everyone seems to be in such a rush. ... I dunno
  16. Solid point. You are probably an exception. Nah , im kidding, there are things people dont take for granted if gained freely. But theres some truth too that price does often dictate perceived value. Yes?
  17. Chuang Tzu Chapter 4, Section B

You may be right about that..but it does sound a bit preemptive though , no? I like to think theres always hope. ...
  18. Better proud and informed, than humble and ,, not.
  19. Perhaps there just aren't any.
  20. Chuang Tzu Chapter 4, Section B

Why don't you just drop dogma as being a thing you rebel at ? You can still always reject the ideas themselves.
  21. Chuang Tzu Chapter 4, Section B

No. See ? Here we are in agreement , my spin on truth isn't significant. OH? Disagreed. Its like the disclaimer,, "The story you are about to hear is true, only the names and faces have been changed to protect the innocent... ." I don't care for FJ's stereotyping, its bad and wrong.

Did some math, they needed some really cheap supply of lights. at about 25$ per sqft, that I might pay , I come up with 7.5millon dollars just for those. The lettuce might bring 9.1 million dollars per year, and thats not counting transportation labor etc. Constant use may limit the life of the leds to 5 years , I dont know if they lose much output before then. It looks like a system that might work if particular costs like for land and labor are high. Im just surprised they grow so much lettuce , at 2 bucks a head.....

    Its called not-doing I think:)

Aren't we thereby trapped in following the Platonic tradition of trying to distinguish what is illusion and what is reality? Such an attitude is typical of our whole contemporary, scientific-minded society. For instance, while reading the allegories of the Zhuangzi, there is the temptation to find oneself ‘understanding everything correctly.’ Our temptation is to evaluate, define and explain the thoughts of this ancient Chinese sage and to place them within one or another group of philosophical ideas. But doesn't such way of thinking confine us in the same realm of illusion / reality opposition that Zhuangzi is trying to transcend? Doesn't everyone have a tradition of trying to figure out what is true vs false? thats meant rhetorically but if you think it not to be the case, Should the "West" claim rational consideration and investigation as property? .... Quit being rational people ! you you .. EASTERN copyright infringers ! IMO it wasnt Zz's goal to keep his people confused about what was illusory or not, if he was even operating towards a known goal ( as it has been suggested to me -he was not) , rather it was to amend some of our self inflicted confusions and woe. ( or Zz's work could at least be considered to potentially applied to that end)
