  1. Pre-Heaven Qi, lost forever?

Ok , then Ill bow out , and leave them to it, since I think you covered it fine. Good job.
  2. Stop Deleting Your Posts!

I think many of your posts are interesting , humorous , and cover stuff that I didn't even know existed.

If someone stole my words , and made a book out of it , I would have succeeded in promoting what I believe is a helpful perspective , I would be a bit flattered, surprised , I also would be a bit chagrined over not having done that myself, disappointed that they didn't let me in on the action, and fatalistic that it wasn't my destiny to make money on the stuff. But to withhold so as to prevent someone else's profiteering what I would share for free? would be impacting me adversely.
  4. Yeah that's fair point , very reasonable. I agree the line is not a clear division. but I'm thinking these other faiths really aren't catching on or 'big' in the west in the fashion of new age pursuit of alternatives to what folks originally were taught like Protestantism ... since I never hear about them like I do , new age humanism or Zen etc. Which is what I thought you were addressing.
  5. Pre-Heaven Qi, lost forever?

Ok, having identified what pre-heaven chi is, related that to modern conceptry, and tied it to the the human meditative or conscious experience, is there anything left to say about it?
  6. Pre-Heaven Qi, lost forever?

Sure. We have thoughts but many times they are not clear enough or we don't have enough support to say that "this is what I believe". If youre speaking for yourself thats fine , for me though I'm just entertaining this scenario as you present it, and making what I see to be the logical extension of it. My own certitude runs out along with the solid ground. This pre-heaven chi, well it suggests an infinite progression of pre pre heaven chi , and pre pre pre heaven chi and so forth,, which seems a useless speculation..Is this the adding to it which you dont want to do? Why do you want to be distinct about the can use dark energy , vs do ?
  7. I dont know why that is phrased as if you are in contention with what I said,, especially since your testimony basically supports it. If you do disagree with me , thats fine. Just do me the favor of actually disagreeing with what I DID say,it gets confusing to the casual reader.
  8. Pre-Heaven Qi, lost forever?

So you believe the energy potential of volition and experience or consciousness, predate the material universe,, constitute the mathematically expected dark energy,, and one encounters this in meditation? if yes,, I would think that since we obviously we employ volition and experience to create a different future (alternate to that which would happen through classical physics) we do utilize this pre-heaven Chi,, aka dark energy. ( Im not saying this is my own paradigm though , - I'm just saying how I would imagine it to work if it were ... if that's clear.)
  9. Nice interesting post, there, , however , though it may trend true, there is a fundamental difference between the Abrahamic religions , and the Eastern , which pivots about mans relationship to god and goodness. In the Abrahamic religions , it is God who is the force of goodness, man is apart from that , and either emulating or pleasing God, The Eastern religions trend more towards seeing goodness as intrinsic to man , which he either realizes privately or not. What I'm aiming at here is that there is a basic predisposition in the eastern faiths toward the 'esoteric'. Though certainly they both may show both aspects in their practice. As a catholic one can be guilty , but presumably can be forgiven, I dont see evidence of forgiveness in the eastern trends, ,,,there you either succeed or fail to find divinity.
  10. Pre-Heaven Qi, lost forever?

Exactly , What is the heaven aspect which one must consider exists? for pre-heaven chi to exist before , and what happened to the chi making it now be post heaven (or concurrent heaven) chi? Being atheist myself .. what or where is heaven?
  11. Stop Deleting Your Posts!

Now THAT is interesting , and quite true. I wasn't looking at rants in a positive light. Are all the deleted post rants? which examined later look bad? If not ,,,, then that solid point only covers part of em.
  12. Stop Deleting Your Posts!

Turn-about is fair play , isnt it
  13. Stop Deleting Your Posts!

I do get your point , I'm just looking for the middle ground.

  15. Stop Deleting Your Posts!

Im still on the " leave the post alone once it has been responded to" side of this, because I think its obnoxious and disruptive not to. Even so, if one is embarrassed ,or just got off the track,,realized they were insulting or something its probably better to occasionally back up and remove the bad parts. Folks who do it all the time should be made aware that its bad form though. Then we can leave it the way it is and bear a bit of appropriate tolerance going foward.
  16. When the most enthralling action to observe is grazing sheep, rocking waves, blowing sand ..im thinking reflection on ones self would be inevitable. But youre right that I couldnt say for sure. I do know firsthand the many diversions which entertain now, which just werent around just a lifelength ago. A tricky thing about self evaluation , if it becomes an exercise of dividing into moral goods and bads ,, it sidesteps further inquiry. Similarly, If one has a god that dictates good vs bad, theres no arguing with him. Its just judgement which really isnt listening.
  17. Is faith an illusion of the mind?

All hail the vented sermon :-) And as the song goes Where do we go from here ?
  18. What are your favorite practices?

Favorite practices? Does a smoke and a cup of coffee count? prostrations,? Not so much for me . But go right ahead.
  19. Am here

Yep,it may be a tough call...leave it be, not leave it be...ummm I dont know Not taking action, waiting to see whats going to happen ,only acting when the repercussions directly are of real importance,, well its not bringing headaches on onesself. One thing is sure, we are our own biggest problem ,so self restraint is a wise call. Just dont be so restrained that you cant follow your heart. Right?
  20. Ha ha ha yep you aint unusual in that! I really do hope the new circumstances pave the way . But soul searching , well ,back in the olden days.. Im thinking one spent more time on it. Now a days ,not so much. But youre a bright guy, youll be fine Whatever comes ,yes? Think on this , a while , when you look at you Who is it ,that the pain belongs to ? And would he be be better off without it?
  21. Watching The Birds

Yeah, it cooled a bit. I dont mind that in the least. The clouds however,, thats just an obstacle I cant fix in photoshop. I cant complain vigorously though, I know a dude in the UK and all his pix are ALWAYS gray. Ill just goof around the house today , and get all flabby from the lack of exercise.
  22. Watching The Birds

Clouds, wall to wall and treetop tall No birding today, for Joe.
  23. Watching The Birds

Holy, sht ? Ahh enlightenment !
  24. For me ,college was much easier than the working world and I was even working when I was there. My room and board was secured for me ,my schedules were predetermined,I only had classes part of the week ,and that was with 21 credit hours. It was an extension of childhood. Ive been working here, for the past fifteen years, thats five times as long as college, and I have never since used calc 2.
  25. Yes, it does seem to suggest that. I knew a guy in college , who was there because his parents wanted him to be an accountant. The most brilliant man I know dropped out ,to support his family. So, to me, this setting apart though, isnt decisive. The degree does not differentiate why one completed or did not complete it. So I couldnt rightfully attribute ..sticktuitiveness ..to the owner of the paper.
