IMO the classics do suggest some things , (it's perhaps the 'Legalist' point of view) , but I don't think that personally we benefit as much to apply it in the wrong places.

Thanks, ya gotta take what life throws at you, there is simply nothing else, and yeah , having it actually beating again , was big.

Arrhythmia with accompanying heart failure. The regimen I am on with amiodarone has me ticking at 60 BPM with a normal ejection fraction, but I can easily remember not being able to detect a discernible beat or breathe. (congenital idiopathic cardiomyopathy. )
  4. Cannibal

Thanks for sharing that, but please understand I just don't have the frame of reference to really understand the words used. ( except for not having a heartbeat- I know what that's like , intimately )

Since you feel that there are other variations on the theme, feel free to give your scenario, but I figure 'fear' as the best word defining the instinct to preserve ones-self, in this situation , because I am assuming that people are social creatures at heart. Social for their own benefit and make up. Therefore , the instinct or need to socialize can be counted as virtuous to fulfill. Comparatively the need to maintain ones boundaries integrity is more easily met. Rephrased , the interactive one goes ,with, the grain of human need for social interaction. The retreating person is making the best of the situation they can figure out, but misses on social interaction, - some people may gravitate to it as a power position. Anyway I actively Invite , you to post a bit on the 'basic social struggle' (which might colorfully be called 'cannibalism') as you see it. ( although its not my thread)

That's a very nice cosmic vagina. Thanks.

P2, doesn't want to admit anything and decides instead to double down, to maintain status quo, but blames P1, just as P1 blames P2.
  8. Cannibal

I think the struggle goes down like this, Lost I T, Person 2 is afraid person 1 is going to have an impact , so P2 puts their fingers in their ears and chants nananana. This pisses off P1, who doesn't see what is so scary, because he isn't scared, but makes a fresh attempt anyway . P1 hopes in vain that P2 will get tired of the jumbled ideas and fear, P1 gets jaded, and then just prefers to pound P2 because it's just faster and less demanding in light of an expected failed replay.

  13. Cannibal

    Agreed, chicken egg relationship.
  14. Cannibal

Oh,is that where you were going? I see. I thought you were going as Rene spoke.
  15. Cannibal

I am of the reverse opinion at the moment. But ,Yes people do look for that internal magic key, but I don't see evidence supporting it...ever. Spiritual battles take place in the physical court. If you can see it as a classic which came first chicken egg thing, we can jump to practical application.

This is a point I have wrestled with , In a finite world I can see it viewed that ones gain is anothers loss. Then , on the other hand , ,,, I ,and others, do feel like the world is better for having its myriad creatures, and that there is indeed an element of progress to human endeavors, as we see it,, ,but on the fourth hand, improvement is still my and their subjective view, notwithstanding . Yet on the fifth hand... for all our declared progress, we are still overpopulating and destroying. ( the other two hands I have mentioned recently and go without repeating) Last night I watched a vid on Andaman islanders , it touched on what may be unique ancestry ( ties in with the Atlantis thread) and it also touches on this thread because they were thought to be mostly cannibals. Which coincidentally makes them possibly one of the smartest peoples on earth , since when Europeans and other Moderns showed up they threw spears until we left. ( which is probably why they may be still existent, for so long, just as they are, and throws in question ,what might be deemed progress) Forgive my use of my native tongue , if one can follow it it saves a lot of typing
  17. Cannibal

Yes but they didn't register anything significant because opinions about rightness are often considered subjective. Did I miss something?
  18. Cannibal

Cool, but as a thumbnail size avatar, it doesnt translate, I had a snapping turtle and if I remember correctly , I was asked if it was an oyster.
  19. Cannibal

I guess , well , rene did ask btw...which "righteous" path are you trying to stay on? Keep my mouth shut more, for one
  20. Cannibal

Right again. Sorry ,, this issue is like waving a red cape in front of me.
  21. Cannibal

Thanks , I didn't know till now just how much this subject would get to me, I am fine with hunters , fishing etc and all but this wasteful killing of harmless critters ... I don't like it one bit.

  23. Cannibal

  24. Cannibal

I don't think I misread , I think she wrote it ,and changed it ,and the text box showed me the original text. But I have no proof and so I look insane.
  25. Cannibal

I must be hallucinating. I'd swear she wrote that she would shoot the hawk.
