How they ever got along before the Spanish got here is beyond me. Incidentally , i thought the horse was on skates. And ive always wondered about the guy on the other side of the tree, what does he mean? Somebody must have put him there..its not like he was just walking around and ended up in the picture by accident.

If in a previous life I was a wizard or a dragon Id consider my progress retrograde.

Or you could ask them if they wanted to trade places.. and if they say Yes, Then you can say you are doing the same as they would. If they say No, then you can say they have no reason to be jealous then. But that would be kind of smartassy. The workplace is no more a perfect mirror than anywhere else , you ride the wave on to your destination. A destination which always had its obstacles to overcome, so in choosing the destination you choose your obstacles as well..you may not overcome them..but you did choose them..so what blame there is to allocate , is ones own. They arent happy with the results , they arent satisfied with the way things are..If they can change them for the better they should..that they cant is frustration..and while one can understand anothers frustrations.. for you to be motivated by theirs to your own detriment makes no sense because you have as much right to your success as they would have.

I was under the impression that it was the original essence of our being..noticed. So one could also ask what were you doing when you werent paying attention. , 'How is it Master , that you can hear the grasshopper at our feet? ....response ..How is it that you do not?'

I thought the green ness of the horse was an example of a colorful association with the grasses the horse would eat. Thusly the grass and the horse , combined could be a presentation teaching that seemingly opposing pairs were conceivably one. The horse feeding on and fertilizing to the grass preserving the relationship and the grass similarly benefitting from the arrangement because without grazers the grasses become dominated by taller shrubbery. In the great cycle of life . But I guess its just a zodiacal thing. I dont think those mongolian equines are the horses described as loyal domesticated riding partners though, arent they more like zebras? Teasing.. so the REAL horses are the ones from NA , developed in arabia and then were imported to china and back to NA improved.

Starting from What If...you could follow up with absolutely Anything! It just isnt a reasonable basis to decide what to do with the life you know you have right now. You cant make any plan at all. The one reasonable thing is to live this one well.

As a redneck once said to me , with earthy wisdom and gravity.. "Killing things is part of life" At first I rebelled, and was about to retort... But ... no .he wasnt wrong. It still leaves the issues of What and Why .. But right he was anyway.

Yeah , that is a pretty standard Idea , that the two have to be, or are opposed , but Im not looking at it that way either. If you said you had faith person X would do thing B , you imply that you really arent sure of it , but you want to maintain an optimistic view anyway. If I had seen person X do thing B repeatedly , then Im just thinking you'd call it statistically probable or a reasonable expectation, its not then based on hopeful attitudes as its based on example... so Im using that distinction in the post. But they arent exclusive because you may see person x do thing B many times and yet there is still the possibility that they wont this time and so then you would be covering that base with your faith ( if you were prone to that). Im just making word distinctions based on attitudes (not pairing up a polemic.)

Well there are lies fibs and peoples opinions of themselves, which may or may not match what someone else considers to be the fact . Since I didnt read you as a smartass, it didnt translate for me, Ill just have to take your word for it.

I had a similar experience , with someone I was diametrically opposed to on just about everything! The thing which struck me about it was though our opinions were so different , when it came down to what it was that needed to be done, or what was the summary response to a given thing ,, there was very little difference at all. ( and if the two of us agreed on something it was more than certain that whatever it was ,, was iron clad fact). The thing I wonder about , is just what these folks are like in person, I only get a sense of who they are from a text standpoint,( if you know what I mean) and whats missing are personal notes like the tone of voice ,facial expressions, postures ,and general life structure... but then again , thats just how it is, so theres no use moaning over it.

Heck No , nobody changes their mind so abruptly about such things willingly (unless they will it independent of the argument at hand). But what may be offered is a basis for adjusting ones attitudes about both the subject and the mindsets of people who we dont agree with. Maybe someone can learn that atheists have morals and conscience, and that theists can be reasonable OR someone may see a flaw-inconsistency in their own mindset which has set one against himself . Most of the draw for debates of this type is that they offer an opportunity to hover around subjects we find interesting ourselves, the fact that the audience is usually uncooperative is not under the speakers control. "like leading a horse to water etc"

Hey T.S. ! Thanks for this thread , it gave me a thought , but like blowing out candles or wishing on stars , if you say what it is , its not going to happen. So I wont.

Tormentors? folks really enjoy ! both love and hate. Powerful emotional opposite sides of a social coin, and often difficult to negotiate, yes though. But Im thinking more choose them, than choose numbness. ( I do like the divergent reference though)

Well intuition at least is taking into account the sentiments you think you may have , but praising every impulive decision as being "intuitive" is bogus as well. I really dont like intuition much , or the things that they say are intuitive,, like windows 7 , or my android phone, (photoshop elements I really like but you need to take a three semester course in using it) , Im always swiping or clicking on things like an ape , when I was supposed to press or highlight , its ridiculous! You ever see those chimpanzees trying to do some task with building blocks and they start slapping at the stuff with the flat of their hand , seeing if that will do anything? thats how I feel sometimes with these Intuitively arranged things, while theyve created powerful tools , they just didnt bother to make them rationally ,systematically , with a plan , like the company had any leadership. I had to take twenty minutes on flickr to find where the "add" button had gone to ,they had moved things around so it was "underneath" another icon!

I thought it interesting that Fai0607 hasnt been active since may last year.

Any proof at all that god doesnt exist ,, like, that I dont see him,, is at least some assertive proof to that fact. Saying god does exist requires one to say that the lack of seeing god sitting on that chair over there somehow supports the idea that he does,, which is irrational. That is NOT an example of being equally probable of being true, its second rate. Faith, as I see it , is maintaining a belief whether the evidence supports your conclusion or not. If a person wants to have their faith , then there is no need for proofs, and indeed they admit they wouldnt listen, even if the proofs are shoved in their face. If instead they want to make rational conclusions about existance based on that which is presented to them, then they should quit pretending faith , and should instead consider proofs as meaningful.

I think Ive done more stupid things rashly. When I had little data , or not the right data, or wasnt considering things from a good perspective ,, it didnt really matter how long I wasted on it.

Explain why its not a belief , please, because its true and a fact?
