  1. Anarchy - A Way of Living

That sounds quite true and possibly a bit cynical there Mh, is it important to play those games? or is there an alternative way.
  2. Anarchy - A Way of Living

OK I'll bite , how is time art? I had to play that duck duck goose game too , and don't recall it fondly either. While those kids games might teach something important , I have no idea what those things would be. The same goes for school team sports. They seem to Employ lessons we gather elsewhere rather than teach. Consider Incognito , after finding out he could.get in the other guys head, decides to use that to torture his own teammate. Being that both of them have been involved in sports for quite a long time,, it appears they haven't learned anything that the sports are credited with teaching. The same goes for Lance Armstrong, Mike Tyson Tiger Woods and a great many others. Of sports heros the number of them who exhibit fine character appears quite small. Whereas the little old lady sorting books in the library is a standard stereotype
  3. hatred vs. apathy

Some of the things people categorize as 'opposite' may not really be such ,, Rhetorically.. ex.. is red the opposite of blue ,or is green the opposite of red ? or are all of them colors and the opposite is black ? or are all of them less than the total of white light so the opposite is white? If you were ever a kid who made sandcastles or snowmen or played little piano tunes just to yourself,, you knew these things had no permanence , you participated just to play As folks get older they start trying to do things that are "important" like correcting spelling ,or injustice, or making others act nice. they begin to worry if the tenor of a forum is tense or pointless ,whether the sun is out ,or if its cloudy. But when one remembers to remember that all their efforts go from dust to dust , the issue of whether anything matters ,shows its dark face One then can either freeze-up , immobilized by the transience - OR - choose to drift and play like they did when they were little.
  4. The OPTICAL ILLUSION of what happens at the event horizon was nicely described. Regardless of whether the' pace of what happens' slows or speeds up in the circumstance person A ,, (as seen by person' B'),,,, to person 'A' ,events seem to be at the same pace. This relative situation holds for normal water cooler, lunchtime, drive to work experiences as well, it just that it appears more extreme at an event horizon. At least thats the theory anyway.
  5. If it hasnt already been answered well enough , I supply that the total area of the collector is put on one point leaving shadow on the area that would have had light on it , the intensification is entirely local. As well as magnifying glasses and mirrors , heat pumps and air conditioners use a similar principle of redistribution of energy. A planet in space , or any moving object , must be acted upon to change is energy levels, or direction of travel.. and one can say they are 'perpetually' in motion, but machines do what is called work ( and waste) , the 'work' is an energy level change in the system ,, so the system would no longer be 'perpetual' if it does the 'work' of a machine. Essentially if you wanted- love to do do 'work' , you would deplete it. ( marriage records 'reflect' that trend )
  6. So it turns out nobody really knows

That guy is remarkable . But the narrator lost me when he said it defies natural laws. What he does defy, are normal expectations and the explanations that go with them. Even if he got to the top of Everest in his underpants,, he still walked up there.
  7. So it turns out nobody really knows

Science was invented a long time after trial and error, each has its own advantages. Trial is often far faster and makes giant leaps. Science tries to minimize the leaps so each step is explianable.
  8. Anarchy - A Way of Living

Oh , yeah ! , I have to go through a few of those sin-tax machines every time I leave the house! I think a foreign company contracts that onerous tidbit of the system. ( notice the irony - the concept of 'sin' --removes the opposition to what is essentially a burden to the people who drive ) Everybody and every cop knows that traffic laws are broken by virtually everyone, virtually every day ,, and take it as suspicious if you drive below the speed limit.
  9. Anarchy - A Way of Living

Well zero, the weather I have now is mild and lightly cool. My sliding glass door stays open 24/7 Ilike the cool and the hot the rain and the dry all with a modicum of accommodation.. heck I even like the hurricane season! So long as there is weather, and I'm not freezing or boiling its all good. While I have my druthers , the weather never drops me below baseline anymore, but I didn't always look at it that way.. no-sirree! The clouds bummed me out and the heat was an annoyance to be lamented. I haven't seen that weather up there in a long time now.
  10. Anarchy - A Way of Living

Well so be it, Zero, I really dont have anything really to say on the subject that I havent already. MMmmm lamb chops I think Ill skip the pine cones tonight.
  11. Anarchy - A Way of Living

I know what youre talking about though ,but that kind of social instinct isnt sufficient when large numbers of people are collected. Try driving to work without streetlights and traffic signals. Law , ,,yes stuff gets written down etc, but its a fungible concept invalidity ,,, also conceptual, it requires the a concept which is not in accord with the way things actually are. Hypocritical , ,,again , its a conceptual expectation that a person is supposed to fit expectations imposed. chosen-damned ,, , heck compared to most of the world this joint is paradise, perspective based anarchist,,,, well unless yall are identical , the application of outlined principle is going to vary and therefore it is fungible suspicious,, , well thats up to you ,( but the system which you outlined is either predictable as outlined, or its not, which would invalidate your description , if it IS predictable , then theres no need for suspicion,, just wise action) resignation , well ,either you are changing the system with the opportunities presented ,OR you deal with it as it is , but keep yourself upset about it. The system isnt a buddha and thats just a cryptic phrase without conclusive meaning you dont impose and even if a person has the sentiment of certainty what it means such certainty is not embedded in the phrase. And rebellion about stuff you cant change is foolhardy ,, BECAUSE IT DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING except your day, for the worse... which isnt being smart or virtuous. Have a nice day
  12. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Then we're on mostly the same pages. Good.
  13. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Don't get all mumbling there, just read up on what psychological projection is. Yes I am tossing out rather concrete examples , the idea being that they are so particular they should stand out as object lessons of a sort , and suggest that the ramifications are not vague subsequent occurrances at all once you get to that stage. A person might fantasize about a hermit lifestyle roughing it , but when they endure the leeches , constant battering by the elements etc they may find they love living that way.
  14. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Is there a chance you got lost in contemplations in this post? It doesn't appear to have any connection to the quote ..and I don't see the subject as even having a level below the surface..you'd have to spell that out specifically. (What is above and below)
  15. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Well Nugali, that's true ...abstract considerations like that aren't really living in the moment..but since that would pretty much apply to every post anybody made , including yourself , but that is a very strict interpretation. Like I mentioned my own discipline isn't that thorough.and as I also mentioned , the direction away from it is indicated but you don't have to go that way.
  16. Grain free diet suggestions?

I may have overlooked but I didn't see blackeyed peas mentioned. They taste great .Today'sHarvest brand cooks up quick.(frozen).they don't have the polysaccharides that become 'gas' that may be difficult for folks with digestive issues. Or kale which has been a staple 'green' (off kilter is related to -off your kale-diet) some of them bitter greens are nice carmelized quick and deglazed with an acid like vinegar or OJ. Or cream which knocks out the bitterness. And I didn't notice squashes mentioned -both the toasted seeds and flesh have beneficial qualities. But you probably know that already.( if you aren't crazy about cyanide or silicate crystals ..I'm not so sure about pine sap either tho)
  17. Watching The Birds

I think the two of you are married now . Gooodluktodatooufyuu.
  18. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

I dreamed last night I was a vulture making my way to a launch site the cut through the trees. Starting to run to gain speed , and after just two steps I gently lifted off. But I doubt that is the dreams BKA was referring to, Tm just reminded me of it.
  19. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Well Sir, I don't think generating internal conflict is that which is being promoted either..quite the contrary, I would agree. Lets say BKA goes ahead and does the island sitting or buying. Maybe she has been seeing this perhaps as really ideal..ok , then what happens , the dream is made true, you can call it a goal met, and she doesn't have to chase other dreams until she gets bored. If she made peace with whatever she is doing currently she wouldn't need to sit on an island and when she got bored she could hop on a bus and go to the zoo. The island situation would just enforce a limitation on herself. Her possibilities would dwindle down to eating pooping washing and staring at water for the most part, which she could probably do in an apartment in San Diego. On the island she had better come to a satisfied state fast and stay there. Yeah I'm not a trusting person , nor do I find anybody being trusting of me , although I don't think I have ever been unreliable. I either don't commit or , come hell or high water, I am on it. Actually for me personally ,a quiet island in the middle of nowhere and a few amenities would suit me just fine, as you already know , (I am just not all that social of a creature by nature)
  20. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Goals , dreams ,, the only solid difference I see is spelling.. both motivators based on things that have no corporal aspect . Do as you want though. Its the 'wanting something' they suggest we back away from. Dont trust it, eh ? I personally dont trust in Holy guardian angels. The dark side is powerful, Master Kenobi, is it not? Such 'ducking' is supposed to be its strong suit! no place rhino's horns can find -etc ..
  21. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Youre welcome ! ( heck Im as bad as anyone might be regarding discipline myself - very sloppy about the wu wei)
  22. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Go ahead! All Im saying is -that in my opinion- the dudes pointed in another direction, long term, I never said you had to go there. If you care to point to the parts that say you should continue to entertain dreams and be dissatisfied with where you are, or what you do , or how much better things would all be IF... It would represent an entirely different philosophy ( as I see it) I dont think wu wei etc is supposed to a perspective one would be trying to get a rest from if one was getting it right, serious about it , etc.. Im thinking such dreams are precisely what they were warning actually brought sadness and dissatisfaction in the end. Ive never seen anythiing to dispute that, but there may be a paragraph that says 'skip it all' on sundays.
  23. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

It would seem to me- as a thought one could have .... that entertaining dreams is just peachy, and pursuing dreams is worthwhile , rewarding -ummm ,, and though I am not saying whether thats all true or not ,, it doesnt sound much like living in the present moment , nor does it sound much like wei wu wei, nor does it sound like the shrugging off of attachments and judgements. It sounds more like the conventional mindset which one would entertain in contradiction to the tao of Lao. IMO but by all means , do and dream as you see fit because the person who lives your life and the only proper judge of it would be you.
  24. Anarchy - A Way of Living

Fine but in this case , I am referring to being led as in having other people making the laws or telling folks what is good or bad, or what the meaning of things are. CD reads those dusty tomes himself , and I am happy to have someone else do that. To a degree, it is still being led. Folks balk at the idea, but, because they don't actually want the burdens of leadership and the lack of heterogenaity one sees is a direct result of some folks leaving the investigation to someone else. Roman catholics have priests to tell them what their bible means, protestants were going to do that for themselves but ended up with ministers. For books there are critics and at home depot there are dipsticks in the garden department. Is this a fashionable dress, is that a nice colored car. Yes people see it that they are trying to do their own thing, but when you do something that there is a standard set by others for , to a degree you are being led, even if it is so tame as obeying a traffic law you did not vote for.
  25. Anarchy - A Way of Living

Tis an ill wind indeed that blows no one! any good. Here's my small blessing of the day, I cooked a pork roast which turned out juicy and tender for two fifty a pound that's a good deal ! Anarchy breaking out all over.
