  1. Flood Myths

I know what pagea was , but since it is said to have broken up 197 million years before humans even evolved, I don't see how anybody could share it as an event common to humanity. Our ancestors probably still looked like squirrels back then. So a little elaboration seems in order.
  2. Oh , so be it then ,now made clear. It was the gratitude to god part that was pointing me away from your solution.
  3. Forsake knowledge

Me, for one. Its why I contend that lao presents only one side of the coin, but both sides are there to be seen. Both valid if one is willing to see how.
  4. An Altar for Sree

  5. Flood Myths

    Pangea?
  6. Dont mess with my food Its just not optional Someone wants to play with their own? Don't care at all.
  7. Watching The Birds

All day seems excessive , maybe he is narcissistic. . I think I read somewhere that they lay eggs in warbler nests so it seems odd that one would be so territorial....but them tiny birds fly under the radar of science in many ways. I find that nifty. Little tiny enigmas.
  8. An Altar for Sree

I bow to your much more current memory, it is ideed eric berne m.d. ( I have a copy right here) and hope my read was not in much more error.Loved that kind of stuff ages ago, TA could warrant thread of its own since it seems so different from Freudian stuff and so applicable it almost qualifies as alternative medicine was robert byrne the author of ode to a flea ? SWYMD? Hmmm I should read that again too. That is unless it Has become mainstream... anyway I need to reread it.
  9. Recycling Anger.

yes I guess it does sree ,everyone has skeletons, accepting that harms no one.

That sounds mature to me, sammm. The well-intentioned advice you can get here though doesn't strike me as personal enough.
  12. Oh wait , I catch your drift for post 47 now that my mind has spilled. Very poetic !
  13. My brain broke on post 57

Again, I can't say I mean its obvious that the lispy dude isn't responsible for invting the keys. And I figure you haven't keyed his grill. He is just covenient target for an issue that cropped up before the anger responded. A real psychologist talking personally with you might get at the root of it. Everyone has a dark side. Anger is invigorating. But your descrption sounds more like it is sourced in you, you seem to have a lot of discipline as well. And you are no novice to the workings of your soul. Either you can keep a handle on it , as is, or you prefer to just clean it up, and get it behind youfor good. If you did seek someone out , I would figure that they needed to have enough background in your own core beliefs , to , have credibility. Our own toughest challenge is ourselves..its always an even match up without an ally.
  15. A mans appetite is tied to his stomach not his heart. To deprive the man of food is to be searching instead for his worst instincts. If a god wanted men to have unlimited food , he could have made a better paradigm than for man to kill to eat ,eat to live , and die to be eaten.
  16. Recycling Anger.

Dunno , but youre just chock full of surprises. Im glad you decided to share the peaceful side of your nature.
  17. I dont see how it matters. the room is still defined by walls wall defined by interface of matter and empty space therfore the corners can be counted
  18. I have no issue with post 46 though. As for what is "Laos dao ?" irony
  19. If I make coffee in my teapot its still a teapot- and when it is emptied its still a teapot rather than a lump of coal- if there is such a thing as a teapot. again its an abstract conceptual consideration of a real situation and defined by common usage of words.
  20. A room without walls is just open space so the answer is eight , defined by the walls -if the room is cubic- and not considered just an abstraction there are no rooms that are squares ( which are two dimensional abstractions )
  21. An Altar for Sree

Yes the thread is all about sree , she is stuck in a cycle of gaming as described by robert byrne back in the 70's in his book games people play. In round one , the player (sree) tosses out some bait to lure in the patsy (thats me in this case or anyone else who bites) , , then there are various rounds -innings of different themes like "the Martyr" which is the one she is playing now , since yesterdays game of 'courtroom' wasnt going so well . The goals are to 1) pat herself on the back, and 2) get attention. He suggests that the way to help a games player get over their habits is 1) not cooperate with the games she is trying to play , and 2) uncover for her the 'cycle' of the game, since its likely pervasive to other aspects of her life interfering with productive interactions and real intimacy. Like she says herself , whitewaters are thrilling and to feel good she wants to be 'pacified' essentially -get a pacifier- a THING that she can gain happiness from as everyone already has heard , these kinds of sources of happiness are transitory , so new games must get played , new patsys must be found. and as she has already demonstrated , if a game is going bad its time to switch gears. She cant help it , thats how she has learned to interact. So thats what it is, literally a physical 'altar' for sree.
  22. Struggling with Life

Ps you already love yourself , you just need to express that with the same firm gentleness and wish for peace that you would wish for your kids or wife or dog to experience.
  23. Struggling with Life

Lots of great feedback, don't you think so too? But since you have already tried many things, You may be less than confident, about the next latest and greatest plan. What I think should be said , though, is that all the techniqes have adherents for whom they work! There is no reason why you can't also find peace from your anxiety, as long as there is no organic cause. The body and mind are linked indisputably. And karma is linked to attitude. Less certainly but highly suggested, is it not? You will have to find the flaws in perspective that are submarining your peace.. Some of those things you are going to find, you really consider imperative. You are really putting a lot of strain on yourself, and so, you really need to look at whether you are better off searching for intermediary concerns with such gusto. Give your brain a break, as often as you can , start shusshing the internal dialog .If you are eating, just eat, if you are exercising, just exercise etc Make a decision once, prepare whatever you need to, for its getting done, once! Making the same decision a thousand times means you will change your mind at some point. That's a start, and you may just find it easier than you ever thought to make positive strides towards anything you care to.
  24. The Tao of Dying

My My !, I had to look up that reference , very creative ! But it proves my point that you are being very hostile, and intend hostility. Unless you are posting to dump vitriol ,,, you arent succeeding Take a breath, let stuff cool, and take it back up- if its still valid once you've cooled down.
