  1. Right now we are talking about whether the associations are , , if yang ,goes with the tiger, and is associated with the east , lets keep a focus here. Then we can see about all the rest of that. Just pick the grouping of associations which you think is true, for Chinese daoists, and we can check if they fit the historical associations or not.
  2. So Suzanne Cahill appears self contradictory. .. as does "So this is the mirrored alchemically - the male faces south, the left hand is yang as East, the right hand is yin as West. -" since the tiger is the yang half of the combo. You see what I mean right? this is not a consistent association of the yang, with either east or west. This isnt a matter of my opinion , the associations have nothing to do with my choices. Either the tiger is yang and associated with the west , or it is associated with the east. Unless those who are making the associations got confused sometime after the neolithic , and swapped it around. You can see Xi wang mu , sometimes with a deer or on a dragon , but where she is flanked with the pair, the tiger is on her left ,,,, if the male faces south , the female Xi, faces north , and so the tiger is in the west again but still on the left hand side. Regarding the neolithic burial, which was male ... Xishuipo M45 is part of the Yangshao culture, a Chinese neolithic culture ... a tiger design to the right (west) and a dragon design to the left (east).
  3. There's something in the way she moves Or looks my way, or calls my name That seems to leave this troubled world behind If I'm feeling down and blue Or troubled by some foolish game She always seems to make me change my mind James Taylor
  4. For philosophical people trying to execute a better course ,,its the illuminated path, or the path you take ,if you're hip to the jive, not the path to getting illuminated. You 'get it' and so you act with moderation , and so forth. What there is to get , is also the way , or dao , the set of natural consequences to behaviors and situations one expects to encounter based on their optimism, fatalism etc and so forth. So IMO it shouldn't be considered as either a god or nature , The classical daoists had attitudes and opinions regarding how the world runs , the religious crowd sees things a bit differently than this because they are focused on an even older set of folk beliefs , or that guys like lao and chuang were something superior to regular people. Chuang would recoil at this as being a mis-characterization. Lao would consider this label as going a tad too far , ending up on the wrong side of the equator,, (so much an accolade, as to become insult.) So looking at this in real world situation, MH being more taoist than I , says a thing which is subtle, challenges no paradigms , is basically true , and he won't get flak or upset anyone. Comparatively , My input being explanatory and 'abstandard', is the opposite , in that it is defining a correct vs incorrect situation, folks will tend to reject it.. but thats just .. me. .. If I want redirection , dao would suggest I not do this , and so it illuminates to me the virtuous path, that I do not take. it is me being willful self-vexed , not allied with the dao of men.. so I am a crappy daoist , (if not just an atheist).
  5. Is it not obvious he is frustrated with regurgitated platitudes, and understandably would prefer serious consideration .? Yes its presumtive, but then its also highly likely to come to pass as described. , Though I doubt it that input will be influential. Who wants that??
  6. The Advantage of Evil

To look from the viewpoint of inanimate Nature, there is no evil , and we might as well call it all virtue . But men are not stones , we are animate or sentient , and see the world from a perspective of our own comfort , our perceived need, how close we are to homeostasis , or our desires. Satiated , we deem things good ,,, un-satiated , we call this bad. So we make rules collectively -the paradigm of virtue vs evil , to help us and others make the world be more good. We then Judge ourselves and others according to this paradigm,. But it doesn't always work out so hot , and the fallback plan ,is to revert to our innate nature or the lack of standard , in nature. The demi-god creating this conflict is us.
  7. The Self, Does it Exist?

To the extent it dreams , it is differentiated , it is not a direct consequence of that which came before , and therefore exists , unlike the drop of water in an endless sea. It is the chair in a black room , the surprise , the Mona Lisa, and my widdle kittys twitching paw.
  8. The Self, Does it Exist?

Anything that can err , or dream.
  9. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

lin·gam ˈliNGɡəm/ noun HINDUISM noun: lingam; plural noun: lingams; noun: linga; plural noun: lingas a symbol of divine generative energy, especially a phallus or phallic object worshiped as a symbol of Shiva. Origin from Sanskrit liṅga, literally ‘mark, (sexual) characteristic.’
  10. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

I have already gotten you to set aside your skepticism , to participate , at my direction. Then if I was trying to scam you , I would string you along by your desire for superpowers . Thats how they "control minds" and I have shown you as I said I would. Tsun Tsu said , to control your enemy , offer them something they cannot decline. So when you catch up to the point , use the talisman to remember to retain a healthy skepticism. Not everyone has the good intent of me.
  11. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

Nobody said it was an honest gig , and neither would be mentally controlling someone else to their own detriment.
  12. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

This is where I point out , that what they did was dangle something that the dupes wanted, in front of their face and string them along. You want superpowers , I got em , you want tricks , health , experiences ,,, anything , I got it ,, all YOU have to do is drop your skepticism and start doing what I tell you. Voila , thats how its done ,, and even if you didn't just mentally pick a coin or something ,, there are those who will 'buy the book'.
  13. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

That's not something that has anything to do with me.
  14. Can anyone teach me Psychic techniques?

I can show you the way , but its generally against my principles, but Ill make one exception ,, I'm bored. First , you must empty your cup as we say , you have to be ready to accept new input , and do what I am telling you , otherwise everything is just a big waste of time. Second , find a talisman, something small that fits in your pocket and has some kind of meaning or significance to you,, lemme know when you have it , and you'll be ready for the next bit.
  15. The mind is a place in itself, and can make a heaven of hell, or a hell of heaven... But let me not pretend I am a reader much of Milton. I lost patience and just like some excerpts.
  16. I figure it can work that way , but its also true that if a person takes a long time to explain something , then it might be a delicate matter which needs the extensive effort. On the other hand , brevity can indicate one doesn't give a crap whether you get the point or not. This is why I think its important to keep a thing going back and forth, so that the many steps are understood to be on the same pages. I have no idea what energy of reality is. But Shakespeare sometimes waxes wordy , and sometimes speaks in brevity , he was working within poetic constraints and carrying double meanings through his word choices, I figure you already know that, ( as well as the quote and what it implies relative to saying the world sucks) . I considered Milton as well , but figured the Danish connection fit better. ( ps, its the opinion of Hamlet expressed , and it doesn't necessarily mean that WS felt as Hamlet the character did -- this comes into play regarding Chuang speaking for Confucius - its not Chuangs own opinion necessarily nor that of Confucius , necessarily.. its just how Chuang presents his point. )
  17. Hamlet Why, then, ’tis none to you, for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Thinking that the world is not good , is an entirely trained idea, you watch the news , people complain things go south and eventually you deem this to be not-good. Daoism tries to show that there is not a certainty that one must come to such a negative conclusion. For instance , if you want to find retreat in some sangha , .. they exist. If you search for a deserted island you may find it. If you come to terms with people or constrain your contact to those who act as an echo chamber , that exists too. If you in fact, do not come into a balance , a harmony between your circumstance and attitudes , well, then you have to admit that either things are just how you want em , or you can't change enough to fit the inevitable constraints you face. But by all means such a negative conclusion is not going to help you get into good graces with circumstances, at best its a consolation prize , you get to bitch over things , look world-weary and world-wise , I suppose.
  18. AHAAA! not very heroic , In your own words no less ! No its not, and the problem with it, is that You personally deem it not heroic ,and therefore cannot deem yourself heroic, when you simply do this thing because it 'worked'. Its not that I think its weenie, its that You think its weenie. Somewhere down the line , someone told you it was fine , they were weakened and wanted you to be weakened with them rather than be the heroic you , you would and could be. You're a bright and motivated person , do not take the weenie road ,, not because I want you to be exposed, but because you want to know yourself as being stronger than it takes to simply be pragmatic. Great!
  19. I didn't have to put you on an ignore list , I can control myself
