Taoism is like an owl, a wrench, and a block of cheese ,in a box. -
No , its saying I would look, but you're not shedding the light. as it says at the end .. "Balking, you deprive me of the opportunity to show where these lines of thought diverge , or you deprive me of seeing my own silly yarn spinning. "

I don't know what you consider to be practice , Following the four truths , I consider to be a practice. If You're actually doing the good stuff ( even if its exercising restraint ) I'd consider that manifestation of your faith. Praying , reinforces your communication with your own target of faith, but its not doing me any favors, without an action. -
You need something to think about? Youre starting to sound like a bully.

Yep its a bassackward situation , when you feel relief mixed with trouble. Its not perhaps so unusual though. Frustration is common, and not easily dismissed. When there is no acceptable way through one gets fired up, but that doesnt do the trick either. This is pecisely why the solution has to be to not seek in the first place, to reduce the need for emotional sustenance which exceeds that which is available. Inside the mind there is a restful retreat. We look for it. Sometimes its elusive , sometimes its right up front. The external situation is often directly contradictory to our needs , and our appetites for more can be insatiable making us nuts. if we just keep chasing ,more and more aggressively. Theres meditation, but that can be demanding. Theres diversion, but that doesnt always work. Theres a third way, and its as simple as just dropping our desires down a peg, finding the vibrance of a private quiet. So then, when you look back outside for some support validation etc its enough, and you can let the slings and arrows slide. , and anything else is just gravy.

You can try, I wouldnt advise it though.

I don't know if I am smarter , I do however try to come to the ultimate flat out -facts , which can often be boring , and really, does anyone think its smart to tell boring facts Power being borrowed , Well , at some level , a person cant force you to move , or do , or conclude , anything ..you consent, perhaps thinking an option is better than another. ( though it may be a choice you don't like) And since a given situation either allows ,or doesn't allow ,whatever you are going to do , its not really yours or mine. On the sentiments thing,-- He can believe in whatever faith he likes, and his faith need not be shaken by the fact he doesn't see manifestations which " prove" the validity of it. Requirement of Proof, is not really faith anymore. In looking to have a faith proven , he basically undermines his faith, IF he doesn't act in such a way that causes the proof to appear. His actions , if motivated by his faith, translate his beliefs into the manifest physical scene . SO the situation where one is expecting magic somehow to come into play. ( in a situation where he has good thoughts and doesn't actually do anything, and then he looks for physical manifestation of his good thoughts) , basically undermines his own faith. Simply put, - Manifest the ideas , or do not require proofs. -

I'm not mad, credibility is bestowed or not , it isn't a thing one has, power is borrowed. Everything that is labeled supernatural, is not what is real ,( otherwise one would just call it natural) . If your behaviors aren't leading to real world benefit , then a rational person would question whether they were valid for that. If one wasn't translating their sentiments into action , a rational person might assume that sentiments aren't enough to make physical things happen, so there would be no point to seeking physical evidence for exerting sentiment alone , and so lack of physical evidence would be no reason to doubt ones sentiments. -
Then again , if you drop a rock in the water, the water has to get out of the way. If you heat the water it goes away, if you divert the water to a sewer it ends up in a sewer. Once the water is as low as it can get , it has no energy to get back up again and if you take a leak in it there's no part of it that will remain unsullied.

Unless pushed to be otherwise, I think there is much commonality .
-
And so what do you do, if you see that your values are baggage?
-
The issue isn't whether there is a problem with having choices or not. The thing I was and am working with is whether the pre-judgement of socialization ( which includes political dogma and divisions by gender ) , is preferable to men and women discussing topics on equal footing without focus on gender association. OR if its good to have partisan ideas not open to 'gray' comprehension. Essentially you are defending something which is 'beside the point' from what I am discussing.

I think we are here... MS "We moderns don't like that kind of ambivalence. We want to know if this is 'a good guy' or 'a bad guy' we are dealing with. But Laotzu outrageously defies that kind of classification. And so does Daoism..." My point is that Lao et al , do not appear to feel we require much of the baggage of socialization , in order to arrive at good decisions. The opposition appears to feel , that we do , and it serves to improve our lives by not having to start from scratch, each time we address an unknown. They may correct me if they feel I am not getting it right. No error is intended.

Yes it was aimed at you and Dawei , Mh made a point which is rather abbreviated , but potentially is valid or true. The Trump threads are like milk ? Is the idea is to pre-judge the candidate , or is your opinion of the better idea, to sniff the milk, an ad-hoc , as you go judgement, based on what it actually presented. The structural category of a womens section is of use because it provides a means to decide whether the posts are to be considered valid or not? So structural categories help you make decisions without waitng to see if the information is valid,, its faster. No?
-
Quite right , though it seems like there's a bit of sarcasm implied. But I cant really attend to points that haven't been made. As it stands it appears that yous want to defy my my point , yous just cant verbalize a reason to object to it.
-
You Do have a lot of self discipline. I grant you that. What they are suggesting , should be quite evident , and your superpower should be appropriate. There are ideas which thwart though.
-
Yes ! He and ' it ' certainly does. So why do the trump threads get so much action , why does there need to be a special womens section , and so forth?
-
Quite right. So where else might we agree? These guys are making philosophical argument designed to convince and enlighten their readers?
-
The ways in which you and I read the larger messages these guys had, heavily colors our opinions on the opinions those guys had.that Goes without saying. Its possible to treat the messages with a sort of , disbelief. One reading like that is unaffected , comes to no new understanding ,like watching a T V show, where you pretend for the sake of enjoying the story, that the story is real. , but as soon as the TV is turned off, the message is gone. Does the reader really consider the texts wise, if they actually dismiss them, just as soon as the next event happens ? and why read these guys if what they say is thousands of years old bullshit meant for aristocrats,?
