  1. Expectations

Expectations of any kind? Can't we also put ourselves into serious problems with some expectations we place on ourselves? Just asking if you could elaborate a bit more on this, Marblehead.
  2. Anorgasmia and Taoist practices

edited: there are times when shutting my keyboard-mouth is better. Blessings
  3. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hi Sifu Terry, May I ask some general questions? Do you know if the Flying Phoenix Chi Kung and the White Tiger Chi Kung (passed down to Sifu Garry) are cultivating different types of healing energy? Did GM Doo Wai tell you something about the difference between the two ? Would you object to the practice of both (I think at least one contributor "Friend" of this thread has done it- don't know for how long) Allow me to say that I am not trying to know which system is best (this is not relevant). I am only asking if each system has a clear-cut identity within the Doo Wai family arts and if yes, what is their respective nature and purpose? I read that FP is said to come from a Goddess but it doesn't tell a lot about the inherent differences between FP and WT Thank you.
  4. Yama and Niyama

Yes, this is what I am saying: the foundation must be kept all along the journey. I was just pointing at the fact that putting yama and niyama as first steps before anything else could led to the idea that they could be out of date at some point.Yama and niyama are the inner structure of life.
  5. may I have a personal practice journal?

Thanks Apech! This is most appreciated
  6. The Yin Yang Symbol

I must be blind.., or more probably lacking some key informations Although I can see how Luoshu can be obtained from Hetu, I can't see why the arrangement you posted can be Hetu. Here is how I see it: 492 357 816 if you rotate it clockwise you obtain: 834 159 672 Then again, same procedure: 618 753 294 This is the arrangement you posted. So to me it is just the Luoshu rotated, the same way taijitu can be rotated so that white part can be on the right and black on the left but it doesn't change the internal layout. So if you care to share, please enlighten me on this Thanks
  7. The Yin Yang Symbol

Well, I don't understand what you are writing. You have only rotated the luoshu grid. To me, Hetu is this: 7 2 83549 1 6 83 stands for Wood (Xiao Yang) 72 stands for Fire (Tai Yang) 49 stands for Metal (Xiao Yin) 16 stands for Water (Tai Yin) And indeed Hetu explains all the more why Yin Yang symbol should have white on left and black on right. As for every energetic practice both are used for different levels ( hetu/Xian tian and luoshu/Hou Tian). At least this is what I understood. EDIT: sorry my Hetu cross doesn't show up properly.Don't know how to fix it. EDIT 2: I have inserted an image
  8. The Yin Yang Symbol

What I was taught is that Yin Yang symbol incorporates several layers of reality. One of it, the most accessible to common people is the Loshu diagram 492 357 816 So according to this energy map, yang/white should be left side with biggest part rising to the top (9) depicting rising energy and black part on the right side with biggest part descending to bottom(1)
  9. Yama and Niyama

Hi, My understanding is that Yama and Niyama are two limbs of yoga, not the basis for higher practices. They are part of yoga, so we have to train in them from the beginning and during all our yogic journey. My understanding is also that they are not moral rules we should abide by; they are the lines taken by life lived at its fullest. Hieronimus
  10. Yoga and Qigong

Hello, I have recently come across Dr Yang Jwing Ming's book: Chikung -Health and Martials arts-. In this book, some hatha-yoga like exercises are described under Waidan qigong. Dr Yang says that the reader should not be surprised to find yoga postures falling under qigong practice because Chinese people have always considered India as a source of inspiration. My shallow perception of Qigong is that it's very different both in theory and practice from hatha-yoga but I may have missed something. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks
  11. White Tiger Heavenly Healing System "72 levels"

Hello, Could you explain a little how the White Tiger Heavenly System differs from the Flying Phoenix System? Thanks! Hieronimus
  12. may I have a personal practice journal?

I am new here but I would like to ask for one now ( if all other conditions- of which I may not be aware- are met)...since it seems to take some time to obtain it...creating two in a row would be a good idea! Many thanks to the Tech team!
