Using Ibogaine or LSD to terminate kundalini ?
mike 134 replied to mike 134's topic in General Discussion
Practitioner: thank you for your insights. No I am not trying to start arguments with anybody or trying to provoke people into denouncing me for what I want. I've already gotten plenty of other advice on K from helpful members when I posted earlier asking for generic advice. So there's no need to bring that up here. All I'm asking right now in this thread is whether or not anybody here has tried ibogaine or LSD specifically to get rid of kundalini, and what their experiences have been. I know, you're not the first to tell me its some kind of blessing in disguise but it's pretty clear that it's causing major damage to my nervous system and body, a body that was young and perfectly healthy beforehand, and I need it to stop. Taking a pill to permanently wipe it out and restore me to my original state sounds extremely tempting, but I would really like to hear from others who have done the same before I take the plunge myself, because while I want a permanent cure I do NOT want permanent side effects! Not in person, no. Everybody I call up locally for help has no idea what I'm talking about. I prefer doing stuff at home (like popping a pill in my mouth). You state this does not get rid of K... please tell me if you know anybody who has tried and what became of them? The symptoms didn't go away after a whole year despite cutting down on "solar" activities like you mentioned. They are changing, to be sure, but not going away. I have no clue what the difference is between K symptoms, K arousal, K awakening... ppl seem to throw them out interchangeably. I don't think it really matters to tell you the truth. Thanks guys. -

You say you're interested in this stuff. That's fine, but just realize that VERY FEW ppl get to work in professions where they get to express their interests. The vast majority of the anonymous masses go to work, do their boring 8 hours behind a desk pushing paper or whatever, go home, unwind, collect their paycheck, rinse, and repeat. They pursue interests in their free time, away from work. The few exceptions are VERY lucky, and many of them work for themselves with their own business. Sorry to shoot your bubble. You are obviously very enthusiastic about spiritual things, but the chances of you turning it into a paying career is extremely low. Sucks, but that's life. So my advice again, is to study a practical subject, and study your interests and business in your spare time. Dream about turning your hobby into your career only after you've found a real job. Otherwise you'll put all your eggs in one basket and you have nothing to fall back on when things (unfortunately) don't work out. -
Where spirituality and science meet, Genes and Taoism.
mike 134 replied to AstralProjectee's topic in General Discussion
Interesting topic. Having a gene is not the same as activating ("expressing") it. If you don't have it from birth you can never express it. So if genes are responsible for spirituality, enlightened ppl both have them and express them, but If you don't have the genes you can never express them, even if you knew exactly which genes are involved. Unless if you use gene therapy to introduce the said genes, but that would be almost impossible. The best that you can hope for is to find ways of expressing the genes in ppl that already have them. But this is none other than spirituality. I highly doubt that something as vaulted as enlightenment is the responsibility of a single gene. Even height is the result of dozens of genes. I suspect that spiritually gifted ppl have more of those genes than others, making it more likely they will be expressed. Tinkering with them artificially is a very bad idea. It would probably lead to all sorts of neurological and psychiatric problems. Further, although one condition can be the result of several genes, each gene can affect many different things... One gene might be both a spiritual gene and a height gene. We only have 20,000-30,000 genes believe it or not, so many of them do double duty. So if it gets activated from birth you might end up a dwarf, or suffer unintended consequences years down the line. I am a lifelong lucid dreamer who is suffering kundalini right now. I bet I have a lot of these genes in my genome, in fact so many that I got kundalini completely spontaneously despite having zero spiritual inclination and never having practiced meditation. I would be furious if I learned that somebody amped up my genes from birth ! -

Getting a phd takes at least 5 yrs, often 6 or 7 if things aren't smooth (they never are). And at the end for most phd's you are not guaranteed a job, oftentimes to make yourself stand out you have to do post-doc fellowships that last another 2-3 yrs. This is on top of the 4 yrs (or 3 in the UK) you spend on the first degree. You will be putting all your eggs in one basket. All those years, that's almost as long as you've been alive. Do you really love this "consciousness raising stuff" that much ? In all those years time you might find other interests. I'm not much older than you, but in that time ive had so many exciting interests that come up, only to fall away as quickly as they came. If it happens near the end of all that education you will have realized it was a waste of time. I'm telling you, even a phd in psych is useless unless if you go into clinical psychology. This deals with ppl with mental illness and drug users, not spiritual stuff. So don't waste your time. Go do something practical. Nursing, engineering, information technology, whatever interests you OTHER than spiritual things. In your free time go learn some business skills on the side. If you want to make good money you need to have your own niche, you need to see markets that others miss.... When there are so many ppl teaching spiritual stuff, all of which is supposed to raise consciousness, when there are other ppl offering "energy healing" services, what makes YOU different ? If you want to write books, what makes YOUR book different? You may have some exciting ideas right now, but im betting you, given your age, somebody else probably figured it out long before you. Thats life. Youre better off knowing this young, than to be in the middle of your phd, and you learn that some other guy already published that great idea you had. So ask yourself these questions, and learn about business, WHILE you're getting a real degree. Not in psychology. And if it doesn't work out ? You'll at least have a real job at the end. -

You're not gonna find anybody that's going to give you a job doing "spiritual philosophy, healing, consciousness raising, psychology etc". A psychology BA or BS is absolutely useless unless if you go for a phd. If you want to make money from this you have to start your own business. That requires practical skills they don't teach you, not even in business school, like social skills, the ability to network, and creativity. Can you do that ? If you can you don't even need a college degree. Better off getting a practical degree like engineering, and pursue the above as hobbies. I see this all the time... ppl taking a liking in a subject just because, and they end up majoring in useless subjects like art history and English, waste of money, no job at the end. -
That says it right there. It's 100 % psychological, not physiological. Otherwise she would not be able to orgasm at all. Counseling may help. I suspect she may have control issues. She is in control by herself, but she feels she loses this sense of control around others. If she opens herself more, learns to trust and love, then maybe that might solve her problem. Her promiscuity is not the problem. Rather it is a symptom of unfulfilled love. It's an attempt at compensation. That is also a possibility. Again, its not physiological.

Gatito: thx for the link. I will look in to it. I tried something similar in the past with a hypnosis cd but it didn't work but hey I got nothing to lose. Mark : do you focus awareness on where you are in the body, like where your arms, legs are, or do u focus on where you are in physical space outside of you, like your bed or room ? The post above said cheek to torso...is there an order to this ? Thanks. Hey guys I appreciate all the responses. I am working with Seth ananda and I have a daily routine going. I will post again in some weeks and let you all know how things are running, but I'm sticking around in the meantime. Later ! -

Yeah, I wish I can sleep ! Without meds that is. I tried b12, took it for a long time with other vitamins... Didn't do anything. Thanks for your support man. Good thought but they checked my electrolytes and they were okay. I tried ca/mg supplements anyway and also iron just to see but it didn't do anything. It's definitely not natural. I never had them before I got sick, and they showed up exactly at the same time as my other symptoms so yeah everything is related. Hard to say I kind of always feel that way with the sleeping pills... And auto suggestion ican be powerful. The first one was freaky though. What's the point of the music ? I'm twenty something. -

Hey, this makes perfect sense. I remember the first couple of weeks I had bad headaches and derealization. Also I am still having neck spasms but improved somewhat. So maybe I developed a bad block in the neck chakra that couldn't go down so its going up, activating the head chakras ? Either this or I somehow spontaneously activated a head chakra, but, being an untrained person, the neck chakra is not wide enough to let the energy back down ? This might also explain why I don't feel anything in my spine, cause the lower chakras aren't involved ? Does that make sense ? Have anybody heard of a case like this ? And if so why am I getting muscle twitches and tingling all over even in my feet ? Hey if this is the case, shouldn't I be doing all of these at once ? 1. Trying to unblock the neck chakra (how?) 2. Trying to burn through the block from below by raising kundalini starting from the root, using kundalini yoga. 3. Touching my head to a tree or something to ground it out directly. Does that make sense to you guys ? Please try to comment if you can because I'm still a beginner with no real clue how these things work. Hey hundun thx for offering to help me. You recommended seth, I started dialogue with him a few days ago and we are working together. On pg one of this post he asked me if I wanted to explore or to stop this process. Believe it or not I actually said explore, cause if it stops its not like I can just turn the clock back a year, and it might come back. Who knows maybe I can go somewhere with this. Yeah I'm actually in the woods too. -

Hey guys, I am wondering if any of you have experience with prescription medications? I'm currently taking gabapentin to help decrease agitation/anxiety and improve sleep. I actually feel okay on it but just a little dull. I've taken it for the last two months. I guess for most ppl its not too harsh, but the thing that scares me is that its a nerve medicine, used for nerve disorders like pain, restless legs, neuropathy, and seizures. But kundalini also affects the nerves. I am really concerned that it may interfere with the whole process? Is my being able to sleep a because the medication is temporarily halting the k? I want to let the k take its course and not screw things up with meds. I read this post http://www.indiadivine.org/audarya/yoga-forum/1400012-gabapentin-advised.html and also this http://www.indiadivine.org/audarya/yoga-forum/1400017-my-experience-gabapentin.html warning against taking it. "this drug can have a very serious side effects for the person inside of the Kundalini as the drug operates in many ways to modulate the electrical systems of the brain and the central nervous system exactly the areas where Kundalini is present and also upgrading the body into finer systems of current and distribution. I will let Chris_H tell you the " quality " of the pain that can be endured. The chemical industry doesnt even know the full effect of this drug on the body. So everyone who is interested in the Kundalini - please be advised of this drug and the SSRI class of drugs (selected seratonin re-uptake inhibitors) before you begin an awakening. - chrism " But the problem with me is that I have to take SOMETHING. If not gabapentin then some other sedative, and natural supplements are too weak. I've been on one medication or another ever since this whole episode started almost a year ago. The other thing that scares the crap out of me is that I took antipsychotics for a couple of weeks ! These are really harsh medicines and I am concerned I may have distorted the k forever?? I stopped taking them when I started on gabapentin. I read on this site that "Prescription psychoactive drugs (antidepressants and antipsychotics) can arrest or completely abort a transformational process. This may sound desirable to those who are having a hard time of it, but these drugs do not return one to normal; instead, they tend to freeze the process in its present state." http://www.elcollie.com/st/chap10.html Thanks guys! informer: should I stay away from tap water then? virtue: yeah at first I went with the conservative natural route but ended up on harsh meds out of desperation. I'm trying to get off and do the practices I've been suggested. -

Ice: those are great links, thank you. Q: you say in the first quote that the seventh chakra is the seat of k. So I assume, if I am having altered states, something is wrong up there ? But the second quote says you have problems when prana goes through the two side channels. So based on this I am having side channel problems too? So my symptoms are caused by both the seventh chakra and the two side channels, is that right ? I know also you highlighted stopping most activities but I never really started. Informer : I try not to think about stuff before I sleep... I know sometimes i complain but theres no sense in living and feeling in the past, I have to move on. Steam : thx for the link I just walked again barefoot yesterday by a creek and it felt great Bob : good pieces of advice I will keep them in mind I ve never prayed before but hey it can't hurt. Manitou : thx for ur support. You mentioned blockages... I think there's some kind of blockage in my throat neck chakra. My swallowing muscle, the cricopharyngeus, keeps spasming every time I fall asleep. It really sux cuz it wakes me right back up ! And it's worse if I did heavy exercise the day before, or if I take too many sleeping meds. It's like my body is reacting to and rejecting these things. Dumb body, dumb. don, mm, I've been in contact with Seth via PM. Reading around it looks like he's held in high regard so hopefully he can help ! On page one he recommended some shaking exercises. Anybody with experience doing this ? Also I will do some light postures. I know the usual advice is to stop spiritual activity once k hits but I sat on my butt for eight months hoping it would go away but it hasn't.... So I need to actively do something. If I just sit around theres nothing to say eight months from now I'm going to miraculously improve. -

Wow, I appreciate all the responses ! But first let me tell you guys what happened to me last night. Its really disturbing. I have been doing grounding exercises and trying to get off of gabapentin, a sedative. This is a commonly prescribed and pretty safe med, used for all kinds of things. Its almost like a snake oil, but it makes you slow, and a little dumb. So two nights ago I went to bed with no medication, and got only three hours of sleep all night and was pissed during the day. It was so agonizing that i decided to take a little gabapentin again last night just to be safe. I feel asleep and dreamed that I was on a table with a surgeon operating on me. I felt the surgeon go inside and felt extreme pain, I was like, stop, plz stop! And just at that point the dream was over, but the real event began. I "died" on that operating table. In fact I was utterly certain of death and going into the beyond, the afterlife. Just as this happened I saw that tunnel again, and I was zooming through it at extraordinary speed. And my body on the inside was trembling, jolting ! I felt myself approaching that state of mystical unity, but I did not quite get there. There was still distance, though small, between self and other. Immediately my consciousness shifted from the " I that was laying on the operating table, dead", to the "regular I that is laying in bed, asleep". But I was still in the tunnel. So I started to ask it questions. Whats going on, and what does the future hold for me ? Just as I did that the tunnel dissipated gradually, and I was fully awake with my heart pounding. The whole experience lasted only seconds. And I remember specifically monitoring my body for streams ofenergy or spinal sensations and again I had none. Did that have anything to do with the gabapentin, I wonder? I mean again it's a really common medicine taken by tens of millions. Ppl take it for everything from restless legs to neuropathy and usually at way higher doses than me. I had another spiritual experience on that med earlier but I also took it for two months no problem. I also had experiences off the med. I read about this online and it sounds more like a near death experience then kundalini but obviously without the near death. But some ppl say NDE is the same as k. -

Yeah thx for the chart... Everybody has similar physical anatomy but also suble anatomy so that makes sense. Is there a difference between the darker dots in the front and the light ones in the back ? As I keep saying though I don't feel any of those centers. I know some people feel something at the bottom in their tailbone, and others feel it going upward, some have bad head pressure which I guess is a problem with the higher chakras. BUT for me it's all or none. Usually nothing at all, but very rarely I assume it goes all the way to the crown chakra to produce states of enlightenment. Maybe there is something wrong with my side channels ? I read somewhere that when prana goes to the side channels it causes bad symptoms like mine but when it goes to the central channel it feels good and you get spinal sensation. If that's the case mine is going up all the channels but obviously much more often on the side and only in the center when it goes all the way up to the crown. But this is speculation on my part. -

Adam : yeah thanks for referring me to him I got his message and wrote back. My life wasn't very balanced before i was ill if that's what you are saying you are right... Although I was consistent and I quite enjoyed it until the symptoms started. I liked up and down excitement as long as I can sleep at the end of the day which I can't now Informer. Nope. I feel NO chakras, no spinal sensations, no streams of energy. That's why I'm so confused... How am I traveling through tunnels and jolting on the inside and even experiencing mystical unity when I don't even feel anything in my spine. I keep asking this. But earlier some months ago I did have headaches, not like pressure but more like extreme fatigue nausea headache associated with derealization where I feel I am looking at the world through a fish tank and I feel lost. Thank goodness that symptom went away. -

Sun : I was told to stop spiritual activity although I never really started.. I was told to walk barefoot often Adam : i appreciate you analyzing my post. when you say physical, does that include psychiatric ? I saw two neurologists, they told me its not neurological and to go see a psychiatrist. I've seen like five psychiatrists but they haven't really helped. I've read so much on bipolar disorder but there are a lot of things in my story that doesn't fit BP, especially the muscular symptoms, and also the mystical states,I can't really find a lot of things that can cause them. When i say good medical work up I mean it was pretty thorough, probably more so than the kind of workup most ppl would have gotten. I had two normal brain MRIs, EEG, EKG, lots of blood tests including some obscure tests for weird vitamin deficiencies, Lyme disease, and pheochromocytoma, all of that was normal. I think at this point I would even prefer a medical diagnosis. But there are so many catch phrases I latch on to whenever I read about kundalini syndrome that matches my problems, and its tough for me to ignore them. Not only electric tunnels and mystical states but the fact that I get worse with exercise, the twitches and spasms are worse with sleep, I get a lot of lucid dreams and ive experienced lots of hypnagogia over the months before my problems started, all of these are things ive read that are consistent with kundalini and make me think it's other than medical. But on the other hand i dont feel energy along my spine or chakras ! So if I am wrong please correct me !! I am open to all suggestions because I just want to figure out what's going on. Thx Adam. -

Hi, I have a lot of those ! Not the really dramatic stuff like spontaneous postures, but definitely a lof of twitching, spasms, worse at in bed. And I feel vibrations, buzzing sensations too. I bolded the things I feel: KRIYA YOGA Muscle twitching, cramps or spasms, shaking, trembling, limpness, rigid-contraction, facial contortions. Itching, vibrating, pricking, tingling, effervescent bubbles of bliss. Tingling/throbbing in left foot and leg is one of the main signs that kundalini is active. Hot or cold changes in body temperature. Shooting currents of energy or heat. Zigzag or double helix of energy up the spine. Prana flow in the central nervous system. Pulsating sensation in the sacrum. Involuntary laughing or crying, deep sighs. Abdomen may flatten toward the spine. Contraction of visceral organs. The anus contracts and is drawn up (bandhas). Purging or constipation. Bad digestion. Chin may press down against the neck (neck lock posture). Eyeballs roll upwards or rotate. Eyelids may not open despite effort to open them. Left eyelid flickers, then towards the end of the awakening the right eye may flicker. Tongue rises to the roof of the mouth or stretches back. Repetitive popping sensation in the sinus above the palette. Body may twist in all directions. Body may bend forward or back, or roll around on the floor. Spontaneous asanas and mudrus. Feeling headlessness, mindless, giddy, heaviness of head like one is wearing a helmet. Build up of pressure at the head, neck, spine, thorax and eyes. Paralysis during Samadhi or hypnogogic states. Numbness and pain in limbs, especially the left foot and leg. Numbness on the left scalp and down into left face, with drooping of the left eyelid. Years of pain in the throat (thyroid) or in the left foot or shin prior to the awakening. Loss of strength in the arms during rapture and heart expansions. Psychokinetic interference with electrical equipment. Smell of roses or peaches eminating from the skin. LAYA YOGA Inner visions and lights, flames, geometric shapes. Visions of deities, or saints. Dream-scenes. Inner sounds, celestial music, bird sounds, animal sounds. Buzzing or humming in the ears. Inner voices. Spontaneous mantras. Speaking in tongues or foreign languages. Smell of perfume arises. Transcendental vision, everything illuminated scintillating, vibrating. Dreams and visions in transcendental vision. Atom bomb dreams. Temporary loss of eyesight. Hey I'm new here, I joined because I am having serious issues with what looks like kundalini symptoms. I'm just looking for help, I'm getting a lot of diverging info so I am hoping some of you can clarify ? Thx. I was not into any spiritual activity before I started having problems.
