  1. What is the secret of being ultra smart ?

intellectual potential is 100% genetic. nothing you do can make you smarter, but you can do lots of things to make yourself dumber like banging ur head against the wall. so theres no secret to it other than being born smart. sorry to bust ur bubble lol
  2. Hey peeps, I'm trying to access this journal article called http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/17542860903503718?journalCode=rccm20#preview I can't get the full article because my dumb institution doesn't subscribe to that journal, they refused to pay for it on request, and I don't want to fork over $124 myself. I'm wondering if anybody here does have institutional access to it, and can graciously send it to me? Thanks.
  3. sleep

Ehh... I thought you had some super secret "method" to falling asleep instantly. Kind of like how ppl use methods to get multiple orgasms or achieve "enlightenment." Being able to fall asleep anytime, anywhere would be way way more useful though.
  4. sleep

So you have the ability to make yourself fall asleep anytime, anywhere ???? HOW are you able to do this? Please teach me because I have lots of sleep problems so this is like the holy grail to me. What methods do you use?
  5. 100 days, retention, and yijinjing

what the heck how did that dude last so long lol I went 3 weeks and by the end of week one I was agitated and couldn't sleep and by week two I was taking sedative pills.
  6. sleep walking?

Hey I'm wondering if any of you have problems with sleep walking or doing things in your sleep you don't remember later? I've been misplacing many important items lately and I'm getting paranoid that somebody is breaking into my house and stealing from me, but then I realize that maybe I'm doing it myself. I've been taking a lot of sleeping pills and sedatives for kundalini syndrome and I'm wondering if they are causing it instead. Or perhaps the syndrome itself causes sleepwalking? It messes up with sleep in other ways too. Thanks
  7. Hey guys. A lot of ppl make a big deal out of semen retention (refraining from ejaculation) because of its supposed beneficial effects on the body. I tried it myself for 20 days recently and experienced some rather unpleasant neurological effects that you guys call kundalini overload. http://thetaobums.com/topic/27060-20-days-of-experimentation-with-semen-retention/ So this got me thinking: what exactly is it about retaining semen that causes neurological effects?? I've been doing some studying and I found some interesting similarities between the brain and the testes. For instance, both have barriers that restrict the entry of large molecules from the bloodstream (the blood-brain barrier and the blood-testes barrier), and both organs are very high in cholesterol. Further, I found this research paper stating that gene expression profiles (and therefore protein production) are very similar between the two organs: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15004465 So I guess it's not surprising that some change in the testes (from semen retention) causes some change in the brain?? And that change disappears when retention is no longer practiced. I personally experience restlessness, insomnia, and twitching when I don't ejaculate for over three days, but these effects go away immediately once I cum. So I hypothesize the following: There exists some chemical substance that is produced in the testes whose normal route of elimination is through ejaculation. When one refrains from ejaculation, this substance accumulates in the bloodstream and eventually crosses the blood brain barrier, producing excito-toxic effects on neurological tissues. I think ppl with kundalini either produce high quantities of this substance, or it might be that regular ppl don't produce it at all. Who knows. But it's interesting that it is theoretically possible to test my hypothesis through experiment. Maybe I can take purified extracts of my semen and inject it into volunteers, and see if they experience restlessness, insomnia, altered states of consciousness, etc??? Any thoughts? Anybody wanna to volunteer ??? :D
  8. What if it was simple

  9. the flynn effect says that IQ's have been going up ever since they invented IQ tests (3 pts per decade per wiki) but it is almost certainly an artifact. I personally think that the average world intelligence is going down fast, if for no other reason than the over-multiplication of the lower classes and third world peoples. And the average first world intelligence is also going down due to loose and shortsighted immigration policies. Selective breeding (eugenics) is the only solution to this problem.
  10. connection between semen and the brain ?

lol are you volunteering? that actually sounds kind of hot but only if ur a girl heh heh. I actually read that whole article. Thanks, but I think the author is way too pessimistic. Okay you do lose sugars, proteins, and some lipids when you cum, but that is no great tragedy by any means when you realize that the whole point of the testes is to make more of that stuff, and it keeps making it as long as the raw material is there (food). I just came back from an all u can eat buffet and I ate around 4000 calories of super dense food rich in nutrients. So it's not like my testes are starving for sugars, proteins, etc. If you do retain then eventually there will be a state of equilibrium where the rate of resorption of seminal substances equal the rate of production. This is the state of homeostasis, meaning that you do not keep acummulating more and more.
  11. Almost 3 weeks ago lightening struck twice as my @#@% buddy left me and my internet service slowed to a crawl. So with limited access to the fairer sex I decided it was high time to refrain from ejaculating for as long as possible to study its effects on somebody with the so called kundalini syndrome, and also to manipulate and experiment with body heat to investigate what its effects are on different parts of the body. I am happy to share the following results. 1. Heat (energy/chi/prana/whatever u call it) increases the longer I go without ejaculating. No real surprise here. At the beginning I could only generate vague heat that was not very hot. As time went on I can almost burn myself with the vast quantities of heat, and even create swirling vortex effects on the major nexi of the body. 2. Manipulating the heat generally has no effect. I can send that stuff easily to almost anywhere in the body just by thinking about it, but generally it does not lead to any effects that cannot be attributed to the placebo effect. For instance, heating up and swirling the heart does not create effects associated with "the heart chakra", such as emotional disturbance. Heating up the stomach area does not lead to digestive changes. 3. Heat manipulation is augmented by modulating the breathing. The abdominal and pelvic areas are heated more easily by doing a slow valsava maneuver (on exhalation). This is probably the result of pressure on the vagal nerve. I have reason to believe that libido can be increased using this method but there is a large placebo effect at work. 4. Altered states of consciousness are NOT facilitated by semen retention. This is the most surprising result. I keep close records of my OBE's, lucid dreams, astral events, god consciousness, etc. However, during those 3 weeks I did not experience a single event. Contrast this to the two weeks before I started refraining, and I had two random OBE's even though I was ejaculating daily. Now as I am not a spiritual person and decline to do meditation and yoga, all of my experiences to date have been random and not produced because of some practice. So I cannot preclude the possibility that conscious and willing evocation may be facilitated; only that there is no effect on random experiences. 5. I did not experience any personality changes whatsoever. 6. Side effects are worse the longer I went without ejaculating. This is actually the most significant lession I learned. After a few days of retention I started to get insomnia, and a few days latter I simply could not fall asleep without taking sleeping pills. I also started twitching much more and getting more restless. So I got fed up with this experiment and decided to end it. The night I finally ejaculated, I slept like a baby and felt better. 7. Creating heat in the perineum and then trying to send it upward does not cause it to enter the "central channel." Meh, I was looking forward to pulling this one off but it doesn't work. If you want to enter the central channel (and deliberately induce altered states) you have to try some other, probably more difficult, method. Damn. I think I'm done here on this board because I know that ejaculating really helps my symptoms. I might pop up once in a blue moon to post but for now my strategy is to just carry on and ejaculate daily. Later!
  12. That's strange I have vivid dreams nightly regardless of how many times I ejaculate, of all the days I'm been alive since puberty I've ejaculated on 98% of them. Just no weird stuff during that 3 weeks. 100 days? LOL 20 was my max I was so restless I can't go longer than that. And I'm not talking about sexual restlessness and being horny either, I'm talking about racing rapid thoughts, twitching, fidgeting, laying in bed for hours without falling asleep, etc, all that kundalini syndrome stuff. 100 days will fry my brain. No thanks.
  13. Hi again, I have painstakingly refrained from ejaculation for the last two weeks in an effort to accumulate vast quantities of body heat so I can study its effects on different bodily areas. I am frankly disappointed at the results thus far. Sending heat to the neck, chest, abdomen, and limbs produces no effects whatsoever, and heat to the pelvis possibly increases erection quality but it's probably placebo. I don't need to mention again the negtive effects of heat in the head. I don't think it's because I can't produce enough heat, in fact I managed to create so much that it almost burns, and there is a swirling vortex wherever I concentrate the most. Most of the heat I produce within the torso is along what you might call the front and back channels that are the constituents of the so called microcosmic orbit. There is one important area that I have not explored however, and that is the central channel which runs from the bottom in the perineam to the very top of the head. So my question for today is, what is the easiest way for me to enter the central channel so that I can formally investigate its functions? Is there a way to use the heat that I create as a portal to entry? I've already tried heating up the perineum and then sending heat upward from there, but that doesn't work. Now before anyone says that's way too advanced for a one trick pony like me who doesn't even know how to meditate or do any yoga poses, I will say that I have actually entered this channel several times before, but never consciously and intentionally. It always occurs randomly every few weeks within the context of a lucid dream. One moment I am in the middle of a dream, the next I feel an electrical steam starting from the perineum going upward, and I see lots of bright multi-coloured lights and swirls, and when it gets high enough I get a strange and difficult to describe whole-body-trembling-electrical-tunnel cloud effect. So I know that I can enter the central channel somehow; the switch is somewhere, but I don't know how to consciously pull it off when I'm actually awake. Any ideas? Thanks again.
  14. Hi peeps, I have refrained from ejaculating for the last few days because I have been mapping out the parts of my body, trying to see what happens when I send heat to different areas and charting their effects. It seems like the longer I go without ejaculating, the more heat there is, and the easier it is to send heat to any particular area. Like last night I was actually able to generate a very hot swirling-tornado feeling at the base of my neck with minimal effort. If I ejaculate I can only generate a vague warmth there. Unforunately, I have found that it is waaaaaaay easier to send heat upwards toward the head than back down. Even minor, unrelated things like reading a book or getting enraged from being stuck in traffic sends heat to my head, leading to excess symptoms like insomnia and twitching, as well as deficient libido (presumably from "theft" of heat "energy" away from the sexual organs). These effects are magnified the longer I go without ejaculating. Now I am able to recover if I ejaculate, but my investigations are still ongoing and I'm already a week into it, so I don't want to have to start over from the beginning. So I am asking, what is the quickest and most efficient way of grounding heat energy besides ejaculation??? I know about things like eating heavy meals, exercising, walking, spending time outdoors, etc, but they are slow as fuck. It takes only an instant of heavy mental concentration to bring heat up, but bringing it back down takes so much longer using those methods. I have also been trying to send it downward directly via what you guys call the microcosmic orbit, although I do only the front portion, starting at the top of the head and going down to the perineum, and never from the perineum back up to the top of the head (so it's a one way and not a real orbit). I'm actually quite good at it now, and I can feel a continuous downward flowing river of heat. But no matter how much heat I send downward, if I start at the top again there is yet more heat to send down again. How is it getting back up there so quickly? Is it being passively pumped up the back without my consent? Any thoughts? Thanks.
  15. the FASTEST way to ground ?

yeah that's what I'm looking for. Instant heat up + instant grounding = good. instant heat up + slow grounding = sucks. z00se I think you overesimate my competence lol, I'm basically a 1 trick pony who is only good at sending heat here and there. I have no other skills whatsoever. Yeah I do try to ignore it but most of the time its difficult because it is always there esp in my chest it feels like a generator thats turned on an spewing out heat 24/7. I'm actually wondering if in my case if my chest is actually the base and source of the heat/energy/whatever. They say it comes from the bottom in the perineum or lower abdomen, but if that were the case it would be much easier to turn on the lower areas than the higher ones. For me, sending heat just a single step up to the neck area is much easier than sending heat a step down to the solar plexus. I also read somewhere that with 'kundalini syndrome' once it goes past the heart it stays there instead of returning to the perineum. Dunno if this is the case. Am I blocked somewhere? I have continuous downward flow in the front, so I would think not??
  16. 3rd eye issue, advice wanted...

I can send heat directly to that area. The effects are never good. At the minimum I'll have restlessness/ twitching/ insomnia, just like any heat to any part of the head. But if I persist I get a bad headache and "fishtank" effect, where it feels like I am looking at the world with bug eyes, and visual contrast is distorted. All in all it is very disturbing. I'm not sure if fluoride has anything to do with it. It calcifies the pineal, but I have been drinking tap water all my life and it hasn't prevented me from having all sorts of strange but unintentional experiences. Chlorella supplements can bind heavy metals, but I am not certain if it actually "decalcifies" the pineal gland.
  17. the FASTEST way to ground ?

Thanks for the responses. Some of you mentioned the MCO. I forgot to mention that I do the back also, but instead of up I do down. So I start from the top of the head and go down the back (instead of up), ending in the perineum. This is in addition to starting from the top of the head and going down from the front. I never ever send anything upward to the head. But regardless it doesn't really work very well, and when I start from the top there is always more and more heat I have to send down again. I find that the most complete way to "ground" is to do nothing for a few days. No heavy exertion, either mentally or physically. Basically sit on my ass and watch football on the telly. But it takes forever. I'm looking for a fast switch that I can just turn on and off. It turns on with frightening ease. I remember over the weekend when somebody cut me off in traffic. I had an instant surge of road rage. And it took a fraction of a second for heat to literally shoot into my head. A fraction of a second!!! But sending it back down, well, exercising, walking, eating meat, etc, those things take some time to do, and its never complete. I think that walking barefoot works because it forces attention to the soles of the feet, sending heat there. I don't do that anymore. Instead, I just heat up my feet directly, I''m pretty sure it does the same thing. Jumping also seems to be a quick fix (I think it acts on the same principle), but again it's not complete. So as of right now the only thing that I have found to be 100% effective is a few days of inaction, which is simply too slow for my liking. I hope this whole thing won't take too long, but I already have some interesting results. I had a very strange "dream within a dream" last night... perhaps it had something to do with me sending all that heat to my neck???
  18. Hi, I noticed that most techniques are supposed to clear out blockages and let 'energy' flow. My question is, are there any reverse methods out there, to deliberately induce a blockage somewhere? My rationale is that if you block something, then the heat that is before the block will get much stronger because there is no outlet, just like how kinking a water hose drastically increases the water pressure proximal to the block. I am interested in using this method to map out every subtle point of my body and chart the physiological effects from the stimulation of each area. For instance, if I want to find out the function of the back of my neck (corresponding to what you might refer to as the back part of the neck chakra), I can simply place a block slightly above it, and allow a massive quantitiy of heat to gather there. This will allow me to easily observe its effects. At present, I can send heat wherever without using any special methods, but not the amount of heat that I am looking for. BTW, can spinning a chakra counter-clockwise block it off? Thanks guys.
  19. increasing energy by inducing blockages?

yeah thats a good point. Assuming that it goes up the back and down the front, it would perhaps be best to close off the point right above the back of the neck. That way areas 1-5 are stimulated (through the back parts of the respective 'chakras', but the head is unaffected, so you don't have nasty psychiatric symptoms. In contrast, blocking the front of the neck is a very stupid thing to do, and is sure to land unsuspecting experimenters a trip to the psyc hospital lol How about simply extending the neck, like looking up toward the sky? Would that work? Also there is the question of areas not along the spine, like the spleen on the left side, or the minor chakras in the limbs. I wonder how these can be manipulated and blocked?
  20. Waking up anxious

That's a great link, thx. Esp this part The wiki page even mentions electrical tingles and vibrations. I bet it has to do with the temporal lobe of the brain. kundalini = temporal lobe malfunction??? No I don't drink any caffeinated beverages but I take theanine supplements to help me sleep. Theanine is found in tea and it's very relaxing.
  21. increasing energy by inducing blockages?

How do you do this with your mind? If I focus somewhere all I do is create heat there, not block it off. Can I try spinning an area counter-clockwise? Would that work? I think you are right about this. When I sleep on my back and passively flex my neck by resting on a pillow beneath my head, my neck tends to spasm, a sure sign of blockage there. But if I sleep on my side then it gets better.
  22. Waking up anxious

????? HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HYPNAGOGIA?!!! I have all sorts of strange events during hypnagogia, and I am looking for an explanation. Just 2 days ago I was laying there in bed at 7AM, trying to get another hour of sleep before I have to get up for good. I entered hypnagogia, then had a really strange OBE where it started from the bottom instead of the top, I felt my feet buzzing, then it felt like they were melting, and then it felt like my whole body was melting! Then the usual ear buzzing/heat vibrating before the real OBE started. Where else have you heard of that term hypnagogia? I want to know whats going on and I need answers, thanks.
  23. Waking up anxious

that says it all right there. Putting tape in your mouth isn't gonna cut it. Go back to ur doc, u might need a machine that pumps air into you at night to keep things open.
  24. Suppressed/repressed anger.

The only positive I have ever experienced from kundalini syndrome is lack of guilt. All the other symptoms suck hard, but not being burdened by guilt definitely has its positives. It's not an attitude change caused by reflection or whatnot, but more like a physiological change in the brain that is caused by the syndrome. It happened within a span of only days.
