I know that misunderstanding happen... even when individuals resort to very specific words use... so I prefer to observe what takes place while exploring different possibilities... You do know that its possible for me to say it wrong for you to hear it wrong and still we manage to communicate 'perfectly'... sometimes 'the misunderstandings' expose the serious lessons individuals requite to learn...

Sharing the triangle image stems from work I did elsewhere and the insights that produced... there is a point of convergence where the different points are both 'identical' and 'unique'... This 'singularity'... I find applicable to other domains... and good luck to you with whichever mothod you choose...

Imagine an equilateral triangle... draw it on a piece of paper to help you visualize it... on the base left write 'negative', on the base right write 'positive' and on the top write 'perfection' ... now rotate the triangle 30 degrees up ... the vertical axis aligns parallel to the side of the triangle where the bottom reads negative and the top perfection. Draw the horizontal axis line so that it intersects with the center line between negative and positive... now draw the line from this intersection point to the point of perfection... The fulcrum of balance is that line! I could go on an describe all sort of relationships with this triangle but will leave that for you to discover... do notice that the triangle created below the horizontal axis equals the missing triangle to the right !

Just wanted to point out that each one chooses which connotations and meanings to attach to the words/thoughts/actions/feelings ... and individuals do that every time they use a word... and then it endures forevermore... evidently some words 'invite' individuals to use and follow certain ways... though it is up to the individual to choose what to do... most just go with the flow unquestionably and then some direct the flow and dance with it, in it and for it...

I am a bit puzzled by what "metta" referrers to... could you elaborate a bit.. btw if you are stuck playing some roles just choose to change the role you play... there are many perspectives and possibilities... some are intended to remain left as just possibilities ... for seeing clearly through them requires too much effort... YES, I have tried to wrestle a belief from someone... I embarked on the task and learned quite a bit about wrestling with beliefs... unfortunately an impasse the other did not want to cross surfaced and they simply choose to stay on that side... FWIIW create a belief language that allows to expand to include both beliefs and more then contract to just one belief to know which of the beliefs can still stand... just realize that you might have to give up a belief you hold to keep on going... this exercise helped me... as I created and learned about belief languages and how to translate between different ones... Now I do not choose a perspective opposite to what is being presented to play for real, I choose many perspectives singularly integrated into a single one while respecting the individual ones. I know the elephant so even though I experience what others experience of it I know which part they be experiencing... and just because something is inside of it, or comes out of it, it does not mean it is it... indeed it is beautiful thing for one to be able to look upon their ignorance and knowledge while rejoicing at being ignorant of what be bad and knowledgeable of what be good... One can look at a belief and see upon looking at it what one believes and a bit more... if we eliminate a belief then 'there would be nothing to look back upon' because the belief has been eliminated! only if it continues to be can you see it... I think there are things that we can say love really is... how valid the statements be could be explored, debated dialogued ... at the very least I can say love be love... those who know love understand what I say and those who do not well they do not until they do... Love is something to think, experience, feel, give, get and more...

The idea that playing the devil's advocate when necessary is required stems from a devils schema that seeks to make some think that the devil is actually required... something along the lines that we need the problems for the solutions we have rather than just seeing the opportunities at hand... it is possible to know good by knowing good.... it is possible to know the truth by just knowing the truth...

If you are that which is... then you know the fullness of love and every word which you spew should radiate fullness of love every thought, action, feeling completely united in love for all that be of love now and forevermore... Love conceives the being to love and loves the being to love forming it within loves lovely ways...

We may never know who be the angel and who be the demon at the intersection but we can certainly know with full certainty the way to go... This refers to a logical challenge one may encounter on the way... you probably already know it... its the one where you have one question to ask to one of two beings at an intersection... the difficulty resides in the fact one always tells the truth (the angel) and one always lies (the demon) but no one knows which is which... There is a solution which will give one certainty of the way to go while leaving one quite ignorant as to which was the angel and which as the demon... The point I am driving to is that regardless of knowing the truth or ignoring it we must find the right way and follow it... Its not about finding our own truth and discovering we are wrong or right whatever the case may be... its about finding the path and following it... why seek to do the impossible when its easier to just do it right... as I said previously or elsewhere you are bound to choose, while free as to what you choose. To put it more bluntly your destined and enslaved to make a choice wether you like it or not accept it or not ... while given the opportunity to choose among some options. In terms of the truth we can accept it or reject it but rarely determine it... Suggest you recognize that you/me/others will constantly make judgement calls though can choose how these will be... some choose 'not to chose' and then choose to deny the fact of what they choose... instead of just recognizing the choices they make... what makes some think that they will choose to do something differently at some other time when this time they chosen a certain way? Just choose right this time and every time to ensure getting the right answer when it really count

Based on some beliefs stosh, you, me do not actually exists ... and based on other beliefs we all be one... so why should you feel bad/good whatever about rushing in on behalf of you to say something to yourself... by all means welcome to the party... heads spins, body spins, emotional spins, and other spins ... including the zero point spin... can be quite dizzying ... or quite entertaining and a bit educational... far from thinking about hitting you over the head with flowery goodness I thought more along the lines of making it spin... just be careful when it finally makes ground contact... sparks can happen...

I think I do know what you mean :-) ... and if need be I would seek to validate if that I think to be corresponds to what be... so that in fact what I thought to be corresponded to what be... though most of the time I will just take it for granted... and flow with it... if you know what I mean :-) the reason I asked 'Are you sure about not being imprisoned' stems from a little cartoon I drew a while back in which the belief of freedom is used to keep some imprisoned... you know the saying 'the truth will set you free'... To know the truth one must choose to bind oneself to the truth... if one is free from truth one is imprisoned by delusion... in a way I like to say we are forced to believe while free to choose what to believe... similarly we are forced to choose while free to choose what to do... we each judge everything and each thing some do it nicely :-) the illusion of choosing not to choose just complicates things... the same with judging not to judge... it still is a judgement call one makes! this topic centers on a desire for a different reality... escaping this dream seeking another dream rather than transforming this one... I expect positive change I realize that it may take a while and me doing some things (and not doing other things) as well as the participation of others for it to happen... and eventually it will happen... it may seem a bit magical to some though its rather quite natural... My desire for a different reality focuses on transforming this reality now and here to make it better...

I know that when our perspective changes we can affect everything else ... within us and out there The word 'perspective' could be replaced by (thoughts/words/actions/feeling/Beliefs/stories) and the statement would still be as valid! Are you sure about not being imprisoned? For me we are all bound to believe, though free to choose what to believe! When you think it will happen there exists a better possibility for it to happen... when you become certain it will happen well it will happen sooner or later...

Now I understand k comment about "that was what I call a 'drive by' insult". Glad that you at least said that you think it... which is quite different from just claiming it. For the record my participation 'here' has sought to focus on one singular idea expressed in different ways... to know good truth love one just requires to know good truth love... I question the duality idea as a disingenuous and bad distraction used by the snake in apparent charming ways. Its rather humorous to me to see the pretenses lures and baits put forth by some next to the real valuables given by others. Some choose worthless shining trinkets that they find so valuable that they freely give up the truly valuable stuff. No one on their right mind would make such a deal, only those deceive would go for it... Soon everyone would see the truth of the matter and have the opportunity to choose anew what to embrace... and follow, my suggestion is that each pick the truth rather than some deception. Some egos will let go of falsehoods and embrace truths then again some egos will rather die than embrace the truths...

Hey the misunderstandings can and do happen even with full access to the facts... sometimes its three times humorous... the perceived joke the intended one and the discrepancy between the two... the good things is that we can always just point stuff out and resolve the issue (or get another misunderstanding going and into more trouble...)

K FWIIW I used to think that being sarcastic was humorous until told that all sarcasm is a hidden aggression towards others or towards oneself... so I gave it up... and now just say what I mean and mean what I say :-) I believe that what we do and do not do has repercussions and will come back to us amplified... so I prefer a kind merciful word thought action... which goes along the notion of The spiritual splendor of the Ego... besides some of the stuff one finds funny and hilarious may be seen as something else by others... the true intentions of each should tell you what each be doing...

REALLY? it seems to me this thread has delved quite a bit into how stuff is presented... rather than in the way things are... evidently the words thoughts feelings actions one chooses reflects something about what one chooses to cultivate... and each ought to consider carefully what they choose to cultivate... some take the now opportunity to cultivate this or that... when they could cultivate thoughts feelings actions words that truly enrich the interchanges... hey if you get the inside punt about adding the f to the word said to make it into a shift great... if not that thats ok too...

Stosh, When one points a finger to someone, three fingers point back! Similarly when one condemns other one cultivates the condemnation of self... and I prefer to cultivate better ways... Some here seem bent on cussing and condemnations rather than appreciation and understanding... I just point out that indeed we should consider critically what we sow (with words, thoughts, feeling, action) for we will reap in abundance its fruits... Some possibilities are meant to remain as possibilities forevermore...

It seems you did not look at the quote to get an idea... as to why I said what I said... indeed -both sides have to be examined critical... I have noticed how some project to others what mostly applies to themselves... I seek to be quite careful in that regard... feelings of being threatened into aggression hardly justifies acting with aggression it would be much better to redirect and focus energies appropriately which may sometimes involve reflecting back what individuals put out though its much better to do it in more elegant ways than employing brute force.

I understand that some go through life cussing, cursing and bitching rather than prising appreciating thanking and that its up to each to choose which to cultivate... the point that I wanted to expose is that interior lives stem from appreciating thanking and blessing ... put in other words choosing a better attitude... You are right not everything is worth embroidering... though the words thoughts, feeling and stuff we choose to have around us does affect us and others in one way or another and I just prefer to cultivate the certain things... sometimes what matter is not what you say but what others perceive then again sometimes what others perceive is irrelevant what matter is what one sought to say... you already know this deep down... wether you recognize it or not is another matter...

Oh I now remember that I still have to send what I wrote earlier ... when I get to it latter on... in the mean time yea lets keep a little belief that life is meaningful rather than meaningless... for individuals to share the experience and a bit more...

That side comment totally offloads responsibility from the 'bully' towards the 'victim' rather than deal with the abusive situation... Internet "Trolling" is more related to " fishing by trailing a baited line " than "a mythical, cave-dwelling being"... "cyberbullying" as many other abusive situations in the internet and outside of it has many ramifications that reach far beyond individuals control... and the situation often goes unchecked ... What is needed is effective means to deal with the situations to mitigate abuses reflecting back to each what they do...
